Be but a phantom, a glimpse of a shadow

For all that you are is nothing at all

In my mind and your eyes, disaster is made clear

Stay far away demon, disgrace of an angel

Away from my heart

 

Curse all these shadows and creatures the same

Abandon all hope of a day without light

And see here young phantom, no more deceit

All lies are the same and quick to their point

 

Shadow, oh shadow

Despise be your name

Abrupt in your hatred and short in your love

Tell me once more of the lies that you lived

 

Hearts are so vulnerable to passion indeed

Be that what you love, and no doubt believe

Follow this phantom and understand like me

That in this memory, all is in melancholy
