The directions that Nidal had recieved proved to be quite useful, and the group made it to the cathedral in no time at all. Mercer seemed true to his word about keeping the thugs away from them, none of them tried to confront them. They went up to the cathedral entrance, worn with age and desicrated with tons of vulgar graffiti. Cloud looked up the building and then looked to Nidal, feeling a flutter in his heart that had started ever since they had shared that tender moment in the sky, coming back to reality, he asked her, "Mercer said he'd be here... didnt he?"

Nidal nodded her head. "Yes, yes he did, but there's really nothing we can do about it. So what do you think the element will ask for before it allows us in?" She looked at C2 and then back at the wooden doors.

 

Crystal trotted alongside the party, keeping her shield up around her at all times and therefore keeping her jolly mood.

"Well... I guess we should find out" Cloud pushed the entrance open and walked in, near the end of a narrow room stood the gleaming door, much like the one back at the castle ruins, as they approached, Lunatic's element began to glow, as well as the door. Soon another ghostly mare appeared before them, a bright pink earth pony with poofy pink hair, and bright blue eyes. Hiya! Im Pinkie Pie! And I was the original holder of the element of Laughter!!, said the image before them, Before you can go through this door, you gotta pass an easy peezy lemon squeezy test! First, What would you do for a friend if you saw they were feeling down in the dumps? Second, what do you consider a prank that is all in good fun? and third, tell me your funniest joke!. Pinkie Pie then stood their, as if waiting for one of them to answer, Cloud turned to Lightning, "Well, this seems to be down your alley, give it a shot" he said with a reassuring smile...

As Lightning stood before the mare, Cloud heard footsteps behind them, he turned back to see Mercer, quite tired and unthreatening, he stared down the griffon, "And what are you here for?" he asked, no hostility in his voice, but not quite any kindness either

Nidal glared at PP and turned away. She went to one of the walls and saw Mercer. "What's wrong with you?"

 

Crystal immediately went to the griffin and looked him over, a worried look on her face. She backed away after a second, scared he might try to attack her or something.

"Nothing, just here to witness. A bit of a warning. One of my former colleagues has been attempting to hire assassins to hunt you down. I've managed to buy them out and make them quit their contracts so far, but they are getting harder to convince."

Lightning walked up to the door, "Alright, let's do this..." She started, "If I saw a friend in a bad mood, I'd tell 'em a joke, invite them to my house, sing a song, and have a big party! Those are always fun, even if I'm not the best at setting them up.... A prank that is all good in fun would be one of my favorites: If one of your friends loves to write, replace their ink with invisible ink! They will write, write, write, but when they look away, POOF! It's gone! My funniest joke? (OH MY GOSH, I'M NOT FUNNY AT ALL) Three ponies walk into a bar, they all say, 'OUCH!'" Lightning started rolling around on the floor, laughing. That was fun! She thought to herself...

Pinkie Pie listened intently, and when LIghtning finished her joke, she fell to the ground laughing as well "HEHEHEHE!!! That was a good one! Well, I can see you are definitely the one to take the next element!! Great job!!" she disappeared, her giggling echoing to silence, the door opened with a soft click, revealing the element of laughter on a pedestal, just as with Lunatic, the element rose to the air, and place itself as a necklace around Lightning's neck shining brightly before fading...

 

...Cloud listened to what Nidal said, and nodded in agreement, "We're not helpess by any means" he told Mercer...

Nidal rose an eyebrow towards Mercer. "You know if they try anything, we'd just kill them, right?"

 

 

 

"He is attempting to hire some of the best. These are the kind that no one ever sees them coming. You have to be careful and always watch your ba-"

*Mercer suddenly fell to the ground, on his back there was a pegasus holding a knife in his mouth, he had stabbed Mercer in his right lung and then lunged at Cloud*

Nidal got in the way of the assassin, taking the dagger to her shoulder. She shoved him back, removing the dagger, and noticing that the wound healed itself back up. She pulled out her rapier and lunged at the assassin.

Cloud saw the pegasus lunge at him and jumped to the air quickly, using his hind legs to kick the assasin in the head as well as use it as extra force as he did a front flip and landed on the floor, "Guys!! Heads up!! We got trouble!

*The assassin flinched, not ready for a counter-attack, and got stabbed right through his eye and through his head, killing him instantly*

Lightning looked down at her necklace, only getting seconds to admire it before looking back at the assassins that had killed Mercer. She didn't know why, but Lightning began to smile...

 

Damn ninjas, I don't even know if my post works anymore.

Cloud lifted the bloodied knife as Nidal lunged at the assasin, a feeling of anger welling up within him, he also lunged at the assasin...

Nidal pulled her rapier out of the assassin and absorbed it back through herself after going into the air, making it reappear on her back cleaned. She landed and kicked Mercer's body. "Do you really not have the ability to regenerate?"

"Anypony have any medical supplise?" as much as he didnt trust Mercer, he felt he should do something for the warning, even if it was a little late
