"Hoot!" Hoothoot crashed after getting hit with the Poison Sting. "I don't have time for this." Leon said frustrated. "Use Hypnosis." Hoothoot then stumbles to get back on it's feet [or foot) and gives Ekans a hypnotic stare as it's eyes start to swirl. Leon got out a Pokeball as Hoothoot attacked.

Luna slowly extended her hand, making sure it wasn't too close. "Come here little guy...i'm not gonna hurt you." She said, smiling slightly. She had a funny feeling that this wasn't going to work...but it was worth a try. 

 

(OOC: I actually kinda forgot about this RP  )

Bonsly trembled, and teetered back and forth, obviously uncertain whether to trust the girl or flee in tears.

((Welp. Brb, going to get some form of apocalypse shelter.))

 

"You didn't see it?" Stella asked. Where she was was certainly in clear view of the other trainers around, or so she believed. Even if it wasn't, a light blue pokemon such as Suicune would be very easy to spot among the orange and reds of fire. "Weird..." She muttered to herself.

"No, I didn't," Whitney said, almost sounding accusatory. "No one's any of the Brass Trio for years. Not since Ho-Oh left Ecruteak." She obviously seemed to have a very difficult time believing Stella, but she conceded, "Well, I suppose it would take a powerful Pokemon like that to put out that fire..."

Luna kept her hand out but with the other hand she waved at Drew again, she mouthed the words food...but then, moments later, Abra walked over with a small dumpling. He placed it in Luna's hand then hid behind her, glancing  out at the bonsly. Luna held out the food. "Its tasty...come on..."

"Exactly." Replied Stella. "Especially since it was done within a few seconds." Stella said, feeling a bit of confidence. Surely if she was the only one to see the legendary beast meant something. Regardless: it did boost her confidence quite a bit. "So... Shall we battle?" She asked, not really wanting to continue the conversation, with Whitney still sounding so doubtful.

Whitney's eyes glimmered slightly, and nodded. "All my trainers are helping recover what they can from the Radio Tower, so it'll just be you and me. Let's go!"

 

A green-haired girl walked out from a side door - it was Claire, the girl with the Bibarel, from the day before. Evidently she was judging the match, as she declared, "The battle between Leader Whitney of Goldenrod and Challenger Stella of Lilycove is about to begin! Each trainer will use three Pokemon. The game will be of single elimination. One substitution is allowed for each trainer, and whoever still has a Pokemon standing at the end of the match, takes the badge." Whitney's eyes flashed as the floor began to light up, each square panel a different color, and the disco ball spinning. "And without further adieu... Let the battle begin!" 

 

Out of Whitney's pokeball came a strange, reptilian-like creature. It was green, with yellow crests above its eyes, a red zig-zag pattern across its midriff, and a large curled tail.

 

 

 

Let's see what Dexter has to say about this new Pokemon...

 

Kecleon, the Color Swap Pokemon.

Kecleon has the ability to alter its body colors to match its surroundings. It always reverts to its original colors if it is startled.

Luna kept her hand out but with the other hand she waved at Drew again, she mouthed the words food...but then, moments later, Abra walked over with a small dumpling. He placed it in Luna's hand then hid behind her, glancing  out at the bonsly. Luna held out the food. "Its tasty...come on..."

Drew smiled wistfully as he watched the goings-on, content to watch Luna attempt to woo the Bonsly. Bonsly, meanwhile, spied Abra, and began to move ever so hesitantly towards Luna's outstretched hand, ready to bolt at any second. It reached the hand, and sniffed at the dumpling timidly.

"Alright. Vulpix!" Stella called out, letting out the pokeball that contained the fire type. Vulpix had A slight look of arrogance on her face, as per usual. "You may move first, if you wish." Stella called out to Whitney. While she was fairly certain Vulpix was the one with speed on her side, attaching first was never something Stella was too fond of, with A few exceptions, of course.

Ekans' stared right back, as its eyes began to glow yellow. And simulaneously, the two Pokemon fell over, Ekans asleep and Hoothoot weakened by paralysis. Hoothoot managed to stand back up with some effort, however.

"Seriously?" Leon said returning Hoothoot to it's Pokeball. "I'm just going to catch it and get this over with." Leon threw the other Pokeball he had gotten out at the Ekans and hoped it would work. Though he wasn't sure if he even wanted an Ekans in the first place.

"If you say so!" Whitney laughed, then cried, "Kecleon, use Flash!" The zig-zag around Kecleon's midriff began to glow white, then it expanded, enveloping Vulpix, Stella, Whitney, and the judge in a blinding white light. It faded after a second, and it took Vulpix's eyes several seconds to readjust to the dark room and flashing disco lights and floor, and by the time it had, Kecleon had literally disappeared.

 

"Seriously?" Leon said returning Hoothoot to it's Pokeball. "I'm just going to catch it and get this over with." Leon threw the other Pokeball he had gotten out at the Ekans and hoped it would work. Though he wasn't sure if he even wanted an Ekans in the first place.

((Hoothoot probably hates your guts right about now.))

 

The ball caught the snoozing Ekans in the midriff, and it flew into the ball, where it didn't put up much of a struggle, you know, being asleep and all. It was caught. 

 

 

Ekans, the Snake Pokemon.

 

 

The older an Ekans gets, the longer it grows. At night, it wraps its long body around tree branches to rest.

 

Gender: Female

Nature: Adamant

Moveset: Poison Sting, Glare, Screech, Mud Bomb

 

It looks like it's about to evolve.

 

 

Several high-pitched, timid cries could be heard from the bush Ekans had emerged from.

Bonsly, meanwhile, spied Abra, and began to move ever so hesitantly towards Luna's outstretched hand, ready to bolt at any second. It reached the hand, and sniffed at the dumpling timidly.

 

Luna broke off a smaller piece of food and brought it up to her own mouth. She took a smile bite and smiled. "Mhmmmm...tasty. Come on, no one here is going to hurt you." She said.
Truth is...she was starting to feel slightly stupid...from Drew's point of view, this probably looked so stupid.

Vulpix seemed slightly dazed for a second, but quickly re-adjusted to the sudden flash, then back to the dim, well, not that dim, but dimmer, lighting. Though now unable to see the foe, Vulpi tried to stay as calm as possible. "Flame burst at the Disco Ball, please." Stella commanded. Vulpix immediately hurled a small ball of fire at the object, which then burst on contact, sending tiny flames flying all across the area.

"Well that killed about 5 minutes." Leon said as he went to pick up Ekans' Pokeball. He then heard the cries from the bush. ~More Ekans?~ Leon thought. Leon sends out Growlithe and walks closer to the bush out of sheer curiosity, this time expecting something to pop out.

Luna broke off a smaller piece of food and brought it up to her own mouth. She took a smile bite and smiled. "Mhmmmm...tasty. Come on, no one here is going to hurt you." She said.

Truth is...she was starting to feel slightly stupid...from Drew's point of view, this probably looked so stupid.

The Bonsly looked up at Luna with wide eyes, and began to nibble, ever so timidly at the dumpling. After it had finished, it smacked its lips, then, all initial fear evidently gone, attempted to climb into Luna's arms. It would have been easier to do, Drew thought amusedly, yet approvingly, if it had had arms.

A shimmer in the air appeared where Kecleon seemed to have a difficult time with the sudden shift in the lighting of the room, and even as that shimmer disappeared, the flaming bits began to rain, and Kecleon turned visible, having to focus visibly, to avoid the raining pellets of flame.

Out from under the bush emerged what was unmistakably a young Ekans, perhaps even just a hatchling, followed by a second. As  they wriggled their way out from under the bush, at least two more purple eggs, banded with yellow, were visible.

Luna chuckled and moved closer to it. She took a deep breath and managed to get the bonsly into her lap. "You are one heavy little dude you know that ?" She said, chuckling and looking over at Drew. She gestured for him to join her. "Come on...but slowly." She said, as Abra slowly peaked into her lap at the Bonsly.

Stella chuckled softly. She wasn't sure if that was going to work, but, luckily, it did. "Now Imprison." Stella called out to the equally confident Vulpix. Only issue was, instead of Imprison, Vulpix used Confuse Ray. "Well... That works too..." Stella muttered under her breathe.

Out from under the bush emerged what was unmistakably a young Ekans, perhaps even just a hatchling, followed by a second. As they wriggled their way out from under the bush, at least two more purple eggs, banded with yellow, were visible.

"Wait was that Ekans a girl?" Leon asked thinking out loud. "And I just took her from her babies." Leon thought for a moment then put the two eggs in his bag and released Ekans from her Pokeball. "Ekansss?" the snake Pokemon looked around, still drowsy. "Ekans I need you and your babies to follow me." Leon told his new Pokemon. The Ekans hesitated but soon nodded in agreement. Leon then started walking back to Ecruteak City and headed towards the Pokemon Center.

She gestured for him to join her. "Come on...but slowly." She said, as Abra slowly peaked into her lap at the Bonsly.

Bonsly chirped cheerfully, and Drew smiled as he approached slowly. "Yeah, of course he's heavy. Rock-types are heavy," he murmured softly to the young woman.

 

((I'm tempted to just drop Drew from the RP, to be honest with ya. He seems to be serving no applicable purpose.))

Vulpix's Confuse Ray never hit. At a command from Whitney, Kecleon had emitted a large, transparent cube that grew to encompass the entire room, turning the colors of everything wonky. Not only that, but Kecleon was subsequently able to dodge the Confuse ray with ease, disappearing back into the whirl of wonky colors. ((He used Trick Room, which might last a while.))

 

"Wait was that Ekans a girl?" Leon asked thinking out loud. "And I just took her from her babies." Leon thought for a moment then put the two eggs in his bag and released Ekans from her Pokeball. Luna smiled. "Yea, I do remember someone somewhere saying something about them being Rock Types...you want to keep him ?" She asked, looking away from the Bonsly in her lap to look up at Drew.

"Joy..." Stella muttered. If Imprison was used instead of Confuse Ray... this probably wouldn't be happening. And if it did, it would be a bit more... manageable. "Alright then. Vulpix use Will-o-Wisp!" Stella called out to Vulpix. Vulpix as quickly, or rather as slowly, as possible created 3 fairly large purple flares, which then circled around her, leaving them like that. If the foe used a contact move on her, it would get burnt. While as most other moves would unlight a flame, letting Vulpix know the general area of Kecleon.

 

((While in the regular games Imprison never misses, would that still apply with the Mystery Dungeon rules?))

Drew actually laughed. "I dunno, Luna. The little bugger looks like he's latched on to you, not me." As if to reinforce his point, Bonsly tried to snuggle.

Vulpix, being hit from directly above, had nowhere to be knocked to. Meaning her recovery was very quick. The wisps flickered for a second, but then kept burning dully. "Imprision!" Stella called, hoping Vulpix would hit what seemed to be above her. Which, Vulpix tried to do.

With the luck of the draw, there was a cry, and suddenly Kecleon became very visible, hanging with his tail wrapped around the remains of the beam the Disco Ball had hung on. It was completely unable to move.

 

Luna looked down at the bonsly. "Well...I have never really been much of a rock pokemon kinda girl...but I suppose. He is pretty adorable." She said, chuckling and patting the bonsly on the head.

Drew chuckled, as Bonsly gave a cheerful chirp, waving its little nubs around.

"Excellent! Confuse Ray, then Will-O-Wisp, Vulpix!" Stella called to Vulpix, who created a golden ray, fairly slowly, and then sent it straight to Kecleon. Followed by the wisps still circling around her.
