"I rarely go camping...so this is all very very new to me...its kinda fun. What's camping at Lake Acuity like ?" She asked, looking at Drew...who was allot closer than she thought...they were only a few inches away.

She gulped and didn't take her eyes off him...this was her chance.

"Alright." Stella said, smiling gratefully. She then returned the two tired pokemon to their pokeballs. She'd have to take them to the pokemon center soon. "Er. Where would I go to do that?" Stella asked Whitney, not sure if the Pokemon centers offered the same trainer services as they do in Hoenn.

"If you don't care about the quality of the bedding, try the Pokemon Center. There are a few hotels around that are nicer, but they're not cheap." Whitney said, without looking up from the injured Radio Chairman.

"I don't recommend Lake Acuity for a camping destination," Drew said, opening one eye, and seeming startled, yet not displeased, at how close Luna was. This really was a small tent. "Too much snow and hail."

Luna nodded. "It sounds...rather tiring." She replied...still looking into Drew's eyes.

She took a deep breath. "Um...Drew...I just want to say thank you...for letting me join you...you're really nice." She said, smiling and turning a slight shade of pink. "I have been wanting to leave Olivine...and now I finally get too...and not alone.I actually have someone nice and handso-" She stopped talking and her blush got one hundred times worse. "I mean...um..."

Stella nodded. "Alright." She said, turning around and beginning to go to the pokemon center. It wasn't very far away, but she could use the rest. Upon arrival, she asked Nurse Joy to heal her pokemon, who of course obliged, and also asked if she could get somewhere to sleep.

Luna nodded. "It sounds...rather tiring." She replied...still looking into Drew's eyes.

Joy swiftly dealt out a bit of Burn Heal onto Vulpix and Absol, and fed Oddish a round blue berry, but said, "Oh, don't worry. They'll be fine after a good night's sleep. You can stay in that back room there if you like, but it's nothing fancy." She pointed over her shoulder towards a somewhat glum-looking room with unadorned white walls and a plain cot for a bed.

"Alright." Stella said. "Thanks!" She added, going to the back room. The room was actually a bit nicer then she expected it to be, but that was probably due to how large the city of Goldenrod was. Stella placed the egg and her bag on the floor near the foot of the bed, then lied down on the bed, completely exhausted.

Drew smiled kindly. He went on to say, "It's nice to have someone travel with me, for a change, too." He reached out a hand, and patted Luna's shoulder. "The road gets pretty lonely after a while, even with your Pokemon with you. It's not that they're not wonderful... but it's just not the same. You're a blessing, Luna."

 

 

Luna nodded and smiled. "I'm flattered." She said.

She really wanted to say something...ask him if he felt the same way about her as she did for him...but she didn't want to make things awkward. "You're...You're a nice guy, Drew." She said, still smiling. "And I kinda...well I...I really like you."

 Stella didn't notice the egg's movement, but still was unable to sleep. The events that had happened today had sent her mind spinning. She was very overwhelmed, but eventually disregarded the thoughts screaming at her and fell asleep.

Drew smiled. "You're pretty grea..." he hesitated slightly as she went on. He blushed slightly, and both tried to avert his eyes, and not. "I, um.. We'd best be getting to sleep tonight, hadn't we?" His voice contained an odd mixture of emotions.

 

Luna's heart sank but she made sure it didn't show. "Y-Yea. Um...goodnight, Drew." She said, forcing a smile before rolling over and closing her eyes.
*Oh god...he doesn't like me...this is dreadful...why did I have to bring it up ?* She thought. She felt like kicking herself for being so stupid...they had just met. *Sigh* Lets just face it...who would want to go out with a freak like me.*

The storm outside had ceased by the time the member of Team Rocket arrived in the Ruins of Alph, to make a report. He paused outside a pair of heavy iron doors that horribly clashed with the ancient walls and inscriptions beside them. He lowered his eye, and a hole opened in the door, scanning his iris, and the doors swung open almost immediately allowing him entry. 

 

Among the crumbling ruins and ancient stone monoliths of the room was a surplus of modern equipment giving many readings and notices. Most of it looked very illicit, as if it belonged in a lab somewhere. As the Rocket member looked around, his face was unreadable. There were seismic sensors, drilling equipment, and medical sensors that were hooked to the yellow beast contained within a cage of sentient letters... 

 

"Proton?" The Rocket jumped, and spun around to see his leader standing behind him. "You come with news?" "The best, Exectutive Archer," Proton relayed dutifully. "Drilling in the Whirl Islands goes well, and most of the water pokemon from the vicinity have either fled or been captured. Boats and trainers alike now avoid the area like the plague." "Tell me something I don't know, Proton." Proton looked chuffed for a moment, before recuperating and going on, "The Beast of the Wind has made its appearance." Archer looked thoughtful as Proton continued, "It thwarted our attacks on the Radio and Sprout Towers, but -" "No matter," Archer interrupted. "It will soon be under our control, regardless." He laughed, looking up through the hole in the ruined ceiling to the midnight sky...

 

 

The sun had peeped up over the sky in the East, giving the land of Johto a pale, golden look of early morning, as the inhabitants of major cities and wild Pokemon alike began to stumble sleepily from their dens, or else return to them, intending to sleep through the day. The headline on the newspapers read, "Cinnabar Island Lab Equipment still missing, scientists offering reward for information on whereabouts" and "Cianwood Medicine Man Missing".

Stella slowly woke up from her bed. It looks ridiculously early outside, but it was the same time she was used to getting up. The location of Hoenn did mean that the sun rose earlier, then in Johto, which had a much colder climate. Stella gathered her things and made her way out of the center, saying bye and thanks to the Nurse Joy working there.

 

On her way out, Stella noticed the newspaper's headlines. At first; she paid no attention to it, as Cinnabar Island was in Kanto, so it didn't really concern her that anything was missing. The second headline, however, did catch her attention. Only slightly though; just due to the city being in Johto.

 

Stella was excited to battle Whitney, and, hopefully, gain her first badge. She also found herself thinking about what she could do afterwards. Yanma was a pokemon she had heard to be extremely rare around this area, and possibly worth looking for. Or, she could visit the Ruins of Alph. Or the National Park. Regardless; she was going to challenge the gym now, and win as well.

"Groooow...." Growlithe yelped has it was knocked back by a mysterious figure. Leon was not really sure if it was a Pokemon or something worse, all he did know was that it was decimating his team. "Oh no....ermm g-go Riolu!" Leon said returning the injured Growlithe and sending out Riolu. "Force Palm!" Riolu jumps up at the foe and tries to attack it but the attack doesn't even make the figure flinch but instead gives it a chance to grab Riolu and force it back as it did Growlithe. "Humph. I knew you were just a waste of my time." a man said as he stepped out of the shadows. It was Morty. He turned to his "Pokemon" and coldly said "Finish him." the figure laughed maniacally and started to engulf Leon and his Pokemon.

 

"NO......Wait what?" Leon said as he looked around. He was in the Pokemon center and the battle he had just lost was a, rather realistic, dream. "Oh your finally awake." Nurse Joy said walking up to Leon. "I was just about to wake your myself. Your were shaking horribly. Are your okay?" she asked. "Oh, yes I'm fine. Just a little...nightmare." Leon answered embarrassed. "Well okay then. The storm has stopped so your free to move about the city once again." Nurse Joy informed Leon. "Oh thanks. I guess I'll just be leaving." Leon said walking out. Morty's words still echoed "You're not ready to battle me yet. Go train some more, little trainer, and don't come back until you won't just be a waste of my time." Leon tried to shug it off and looked around. He could challenge the gym and show Morty why he was able to beat Jasmine but he knew as well as Morty that he was nowhere near ready. After thinking for a bit he decided to go to Route 42 to train ad maybe catch a new Pokemon.

 

[Also @Glaceon I knew Morty's Pokemon was Gengar. But I don't think Leon would since they aren't native to Unova. At least not as far as I know.]

Luna opened her eyes and glanced up at the roof of the tent. The early morning sun could be seen shining through the fabric. She yawned and rolled over to find Drew even closer than they had been last night.

She stared at him for a moment...then realized it was super creepy of her to just be staring at a sleeping boy so she stood up.
Her eyes flashed purple and a toothbrush plus some toothpaste floated from her bag as she unzipped the flap of the tent.

She walked out and moved far away from the tent to brush her teeth.

She returned a few minutes later and placed her toothbrush and toothpaste back into her bag. She pulled out a pot, some oatmeal, some cinnamon, brown sugar, and a bottle of water before she walked out of the tent.
She wondered around in the woods nearby them in search for some dry wood...which was quite difficult but she did manage to find enough to start a fire.

The citizens of Goldenrod seemed in shock. There was a crowd gathered around the husk of the Radio Tower, which still stood, but only just. The building was covered in scorch marks and a large chunk of the building near the top, where the lightning had originally struck, had simply been blasted into oblivion. Many people were babbling confusedly, wondering how the fire had simply gone out.

 

The Egg stand had similarly disappeared, and most of the eggs were now safe in refuge within the Pokemon Center, now guarded over zealously by an irritable Kris; she wasn't about to let anything threaten the eggs again, and she was obviously still peeved at Nurse Joy.

 

A sign on every bulletin board announced that a Bug-Catching Contest was being held in National Park that day.

The gaping maw of the cave that is the entrance to Mount Mortar is to your left, a hole in the side of the large mountain itself. A lake lies between the mountain and a thick forest. You see a faint splashing near the water's edge, and a Mankey standing alone on a rocky island in the center of the lake. Several rocks are scattered near the entrance of the cave. A few Ledyba fly overhead, and a patch of brambles rustles near the edge of the thick forest to the south. Elsewhere among the trees, several Pineco are visible hanging. An echoing flapping sound, as well as that of a distant smashing, can be heard echoing out of the cave.

Stella was slightly surprised so many people of Goldenrod had not heard the news of the radio tower. She expected some people to be shocked, but not most of the city. Regardless; it wasn't something she was going to try to sort out.

 

Stella also noticed the notice for the Bug Catching Contest being held today. The same contest she was thinking about entering before. Hopefully, there would be enough time for her to enter after the gym battle.

 

Stella eventually made it to the gym. Quite close to the pokemon center, but there were too many distractions for her to actually get there in a good time.

Luna was just about to light the fire until she noticed a small shrub a little ways away...it was also shaking slightly.

She took hold of Abras Pokeball and clicked the button. There was a flash of red light and Abra came out with his arm's crossed, staring right at Luna. "I'm sorry okay ? It was raining and there was no room for you me and Drew in the tent." Abra kept his arm's crossed. "Ugh. Come on...I wanna check something out." She said, slowly approaching the bush.

The bush began to suspiciously stop quivering as Luna approached it. A pair of eyes opened up, and the bush appeared to try to pull itself out of the ground to flee. It looked close to tears. 

 

Drew emerged from the tent, and spotting the pokemon, spotted it immediately. He mouthed at Luna, "No sudden movements. Bonsly are easily intimidated."

 

After all, Bonsly were native to his region of Sinnoh.

"How'd it get put out? That inferno..." There were vague mutterings audible as Stella passed the crowd. Indeed, the gym seemed to have a more subdued air about it today. Most of the gym trainers were helping salvage what they could from the Radio Tower, it seemed. 

 

However, the pink-haired girl, in her softball jersey and pigtails, stood in the gym. "Well, I promised you I'd be here, didn't I? I never got to introduce myself. I'm Whitney, leader of Goldenrod Gym." She winked, and tilted her head, allowing it to gain a multicoloured quality from the flashing lights she stood on. "Glad to see you're alright. The Director will want to thank you personally for saving his life once he's out of the hospital. How'd you find him?"

 

She seemed determined to have some small talk before battling.

 

"Hmmm" Leon looked around. ~That cave could offer some nice training. But then again I'd probably just get swarmed by Zubats or something.~ Leon thought to himself. He notices the rustling brambles and decides to check them out. As he gets closer his hand hovers over Growlithe's Pokeball just incase something decided to pop out at Leon.

The bush began to suspiciously stop quivering as Luna approached it. A pair of eyes opened up, and the bush appeared to try to pull itself out of the ground to flee. It looked close to tears.    Drew emerged from the tent, and spotting the pokemon, spotted it immediately. He mouthed at Luna, "No sudden movements. She wasn't really into Grass type pokemon...but if she got it and gave it to Drew...maybe it would boost her chances with him...it was perfect.

And then of course Suicune...." She added. While it may be true she did, relatively speaking, nothing, Stella was also the kind to boast. Adding Suicune as an afterthought was just that.

Leon through out a Pokeball but in the confusion, Leon had grabbed Hoothoot's Pokeball instead of Growlithe. "Hoot?" Hoothoot scanned the Ekans for a bit. "Well I suppose it's time to see what you can do Hoothoot. Use Peck!" Hoothoot then started to flap it's wings and flew towards the Ekans, though it struggled due to it's wing still being a bit hurt.

Luna nodded at Drew and slowly bent down so she was at the same eye level as Bonsly. She reached over at Drew and made a few slow hand motions, mouthing the words "Food" She wanted to befriend the bonsly...maybe not capture it. She wasn't really into Grass type pokemon...but if she got it and gave it to Drew...maybe it would boost her chances with him...it was perfect.

The Bonsly blinked, and appeared unsure whether to edge away, or move towards the strange being that was trying to speak with it. "Sly?" It said, in a frightened, almost tearful voice.

Whitney's jaw dropped, as did the Pokeball which she had just pulled out, which bounced uselessly off the floor. "Suicune? You saw Suicune?" She seemed utterly disbelieving. "No one's seen Suicune in years. It can't be." She didn't even seem to notice the Lillipup that had erupted from her Pokeball and was now gnawing playfully on her shoe.

 

((Oh, boy. Whitney's one to gossip. Morty and Eusine are going to be very, very interested to meet you, Stella.))

 

"Whoa!" Leon cried out as he fell to the ground, scrambling to get a Pokeball out. "Go Growlithe!" Leon through out a Pokeball but in the confusion, Leon had grabbed Hoothoot's Pokeball instead of Growlithe. "Hoot?" Hoothoot scanned the Ekans for a bit. "Well I suppose it's time to see what you can do Hoothoot. Use Peck!" Hoothoot then started to flap it's wings and flew towards the Ekans, though it struggled due to it's wing still being a bit hurt.

Hoothoot stumbled as Ekans lashed out aggressively with a Poison Sting attack. It could be noticed that it did not seem overly willing to venture too far from the bush of brambles, however, as it returned to it, coiled up defensively in front of it.

The Bonsly blinked, and appeared unsure whether to edge away, or move towards the strange being that was trying to speak with it. "Sly?" It said, in a frightened, almost tearful voice.

 

Luna slowly extended her hand, making sure it wasn't too close. "Come here little guy...i'm not gonna hurt you." She said, smiling slightly. She had a funny feeling that this wasn't going to work...but it was worth a try.

"You didn't see it?" Stella asked. Where she was was certainly in clear view of the other trainers around, or so she believed. Even if it wasn't, a light blue pokemon such as Suicune would be very easy to spot among the orange and reds of fire. "Weird..." She muttered to herself.
