Cold hands, creeping up my back.

The shadows, surrounding me.

Hiding in the corner of my eyes.

Waiting patiently to strike.

Crawling closer, seconds away.

Embracing me, pulling me under.

 

Falling down, deep into sadness.

Tendrils of despair, clinging.

Given up, tired of struggling.

Letting go, sinking into darkness.

The horror of the world, fading.

Closed eyes, a nightmare so lovely.

 

Never hoping to wake, afraid.

Sleep, die, never live again.

Give up. Succumb to madness.

Flee from reality, never more.

Far away, life in the distance.

Never again. It’s the fear.

It's well known that poems do reflect the poet's feelings, I just hope that's not the way you are feeling right now.

This is closer to the real me than you might think. I do my best to surpress it every day. Some days it's just harder than others.
