Would a changeling mane 6 be pointless

Let's not be too quick to make that judgement on the Changelings. The Changelings we've seen so far on the show are part of the ARMY. My guess is that the animators made them all look alike because how easier it would be to do that than give each of them unique appearances, especially considering there were about a thousand of them. If the writors got to individual changelings not in the army, but say in a homeland where the women and children are, and yes I am perhaps one of the handful of people who like to believe they have their own homeland and society, deal with it, then those individual changelings may have drastically their own appearances, including mane and their own colours. If the writers went down that road, then having a group of changelings whose roles and personalities are not that similar to the Mane Six, but their appearances are, then maybe that could work.

 

I'm just going off of what we know. I'm not saying that there are no other Changelings that look different than what we've seen, although I think it'd be pretty strange to see Changelings with all sorts of different manes and colors. I guess it's possible, but other than fanart I couldn't really see that happening.

 

But this is more of an idea topic anyway, so I'll not stand against it.

 

And hey, don't sweat it, I'm not against you when it comes to the Changelings having their own society. It would make sense to me, since it would be a little odd for a Changeling Queen and a Changeling army to come out of nowhere. They obviously have to live somewhere, and I guess the possibility of a Changeling Kingdom is pretty high.

 

I just think there needs to be a better explanation behind why there are six Changelings that naturally resemble the Mane Six and why they are better than them or something. I just thought that this idea would work better if there were six ponies that resembled them rather than six Changelings, especially since Changelings already have the power to mimic the appearance of others, meaning that any Changeling could look and sound exactly like the Mane Six anyhow.

The changeling six could be connected to the elements in a way like this. Chrysalis creates her changeling 6 with the part of the essence of the original mane 6. Which in result connects them to the elements of harmony.

This is getting dangerously close to Pony-Fic territory, but it would be rather neat and interesting.
It'd be really cool to see a sort of "Powerpuff Girls - Rowdyruff Boys" take on the Mane 6 however.

Yeah, as I said before, perhaps there are some shards of the Elements or something that Chrysalis uses, cause the Changeling Six just being able to use the Elements seems silly. I personally think it would be interesting, as I also said before, to see the Mane Six and Changeling Six fight over the Elements and who their new masters would be.

 

I do wonder, though, what will happen if the Changeling Six get the Elements and use? Shall there be a giant black and white rainbow blast that banishes the Mane Six to Tartarus?

 

And Akoura, this does sound like a fanfiction inspiration thread now. Perhaps someone here would be willing to write a fanfic about it. I'm not sure.

I honestly would not be surprised if a pony-fic has already been made that fits this topic to a T. I'd be expecting it, actually, and would be a little dissappointed f it hadn't been done yet.

True, true, dark versions of main characters is a classic, so a pony fic likely has already explored that territory, whether the dark versions be because of Discord, Sombra, Chrysalis, or somepony else.

 

An RP? I'd be up for it. Would need to be run well though. I've been in too many RPs on other sites that died, and that always makes me sad. So sad, that sometimes my pipe just doesn't help me enough...

It would certainly be cool... "Dark" or evil versions of protagonists are usually awesome, and it would be cool if the Mane 6 could fight clones of themselves again, especially if the storyline included some of them getting captured and replaced by their changeling versions and confusing everypony. It would be cool to say the least. :3

I have been wondering or some time that if ever in the show we will ever see evil counterparts of the mane six.

It's not impossible to make it work in the show, and almost everyone likes evil counterparts of te Heros.

 

Also @TheMarkz0ne good luck on your fan-fic if you do end up doing it. An as far as I know no one else has made a changeling mane 6 fan-fic.

I can't say that is would be pointless, but it would really only be good for one episode, or perhaps a two-parter. It does have decent potential, such as they kidnap a pony and replace them with a changeling unknowingly. I'm pretty confident they won't be bringing the Changelings back anyways, unless they have Chrysalis, or perhaps the king of wherever the hell she is from, return to be all evil and shtuffz.

Actually that's not a very bad idea at all, and it would give the changelings another chance in the series.  Though I think it may end up like Discord and Sombra and just be a very sudden defeat.  Though the idea that they think they're the actual mane 6 does intrigue me.  Maybe they don't want to hurt the changelings.

Not to me, it wouldn't. It is a perfect idea for an episode, where Chrysalis returns and pretends to ask for forgiveness. But in reality, she sends the Changeling 6 to fight the Mane Six in a anticlimatic battle.

It reminds me of the story in the very original Bionicle comics (I'm talking like first 10 issues here) where the Toa fight their shadow counter-parts created by Makuta. When fighting their own clone, they're defeated. When they start to help and fight for each other, they're able to help each other through their unity.

 

Something similar could happen in MLP, though I kind of doubt it. It already kinda happened in the first battle with the changelings.

Do the Changelings have some control over fire?

The reason I'm asking is because when the changelings where falling down for an impact landing it looked like they set themselves on green fire. Also Queen Crysalis mad a ring of green fire.

So can they munipulate green fire usin their powers?

If so this is something to take into account

I was planning on giving the changeling 6 some uniqueness that would distinguish them from normal changelings. Chrysalis gave the several magical abilities. They can all cast powerful green flames. They can adapt to their environment and copy the abilities of any other pony or creature.

yeah of course they can mimic who ever they want. But they can also gain the abilities of any pony they want. Say Changeling twilight could mimic Celestia or Cadence and gain their abilities. She doesn't even need to look like them to use their respected powers

 

EDIT: I'm going to write two fan fictions. The first one takes place during season 4. Chrysalis after her defeat at the wedding a year ago has been making her changeling 6 children for 10 months. Chrysalis took part of their essence and DNA and consumed it. She then later cast a life spell that conjures up the changeling 6 into green pods and in 10 months they are born. The mane 6 meet the changeling 6 and they eventually fight. The mane 6 emerge victors but just barely.

 

second one is taking place 2 years after the changeling 6 were defeated. In short the changeling six feed off the love of all of Equestria and over power Chrysalis, they betray her and plan to conquer equestria on their own. Chrysalis eventually teams up with the mane 6 to keep her creations in line

that's actually not a bad idea. Changeling Rarity can absorb the power of any local gems. changeling pinkie get's stronger when people are in misery. Changeling dash is faster than Rainbow Dash. But Changeling Dash can cast a dark aura around her and use it as an attack while she is speeding

Exactly! I think this would be even better than all of them having the absorption power, since it makes each of them even more unique. And good idea on the Changeling Pinkie getting stronger when people are in misery thing, I was honestly having trouble coming up with a good and usable power in my head for her.
