10 foot cables seems perfectly reasonable. Not too long, and not too short!

 

My farthest speakers probably use 20ft cables, and to connect the living room phone needed a 25 or 50ft cable (I can't remember). And without a wireless Wifi adapter, I'd need a 100ft+ ethernet cable to connect the farthest computer in the house.

My sound output's the jankiest thing I've ever created, and I thought by using an optical cable, I'd be able to simplify a lot of it. Problem: connecting anything to my computer requires a minimum cable length of 10 feet. 10ft power cable for the tower itself, and probably 10ft monitor cables as well.

You know what, I think I've also lost my trust in cameras. I'd think I'd rather have a camera that's attached to a phone, but, you know, can take high-res photos and videos...

Unless you plan on getting into proper photography. You won't look professional using a phone as your main source of pictures.

Seriously though, I've destroyed two micro-USB cables already this year and device hopping is painful. inb6 PCs, phones, cameras, TV, and consoles become one
