Would it still be possible to join this? I'd like to try this sort of dice-based RP, and Fallout worlds are awesome.  Makes for some great moments for good characters. I'd whip up a pony quick-like if you do accept.

Sorry, but for now we're capping the character list at six. As we go on and get a streamlined story going, we can add in more characters. I'll put you on the waiting list and let you know when a spot opens up.   (Holy crap! An Applebloom face!)

Just a quick question for clarification: Which section of the wasteland are we in? Southern, Eastern, Western, Northern? Or are we in a separate wasteland from the Equestrian?

I can't find a map of Fo:E other than the one that covers only the locations in the original story. So assume that this RP is near enough that characters can make references and, if need be, travel there, but not so near that we're tripping on the toes of canon.

Gives me some ideas with branching out from Equestria.

 

Also, sorry I haven't given any better leads on what to do/where to go. This week has been chaotic and I'll be gone all of Saturday. If the group can come to a consensus on what to do, I can start writing up the first part of your adventure.

For the map you posted: That is incredibly well done (also I feel embarrassed now. I kept calling Poniverse Manheim 'Maneheim' instead of 'Mareheim'). One thing I can't seem to pinpoint exactly where it'd be, probably somewhere near Prance, is the Crystal Empire (probably cause this map is pre-season 3), which if it wasn't obvious enough is the namesake of The Imperial Wasteland, Alizarin's homewastes, but that's what imagination's for.

Yeah, the map I hastily found is pre-season 3, and I see what you mean about the Crystal Empire. Looking at the map, my best guess for a place to throw the Empire is either that big mountain range just north of Germaneigh or just east of that in that snowy foresty area of Equestria. *shrug* Or we could go off of something else.

 

Also, if you look in the lower right portion of the map there is a cloud city called Kingdom of Haven.   And that is TOTALLY not where Haven is. Nope. Not at all. 

 

As to where we are currently according to that map, we are south of Trottingham and east of Canterlot. A nice, empty area and I don't believe Trottingham/Stalliongrad/Canterbury have been touched much by canon. Sound fair? I'm up to changing it if someone has a better/cooler idea.

 

Also also, it seems like a few are gunning to talk with the Steel Rangers...interesting.

Original idea: make this an actual game of sorts and don't explicitly state where Haven is. Ultimate game of hide and seek, but with a lot more death and drugs.

 

But now I'm thinking that that would be needlessly complex. So if we're all cool with that map, I'll look around for an optimal spot to plunk it down.

Okie doki loki, I'm gonna try and offer up a general direction to go. While you could still strike out in whatever direction, a filly has deemed certain members of your party her enemies. No love for the Rangers, right?

Bonus: for an example of how I imagine Al's armor looks, think of the Halo ODST armor (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080928175644/halo/images/8/8d/Odst2.jpg something sorta like this) but of course Ponified. As well, the helmet doesn't cover his face, it leaves all but his left eye exposed.

Okay, to find the filly and colt you need to beat a Perception check. Yeah, a roll. Lets just see how this goes...

EDIT: For those who are searching already, put the roll at the end of your post. I'll quote ya' and let everyone know what they see.

 

Rules to roll (if you've forgotten) are in the OP. Something I forgot to mention: mention what you are doing along with your roll. Ex: "Rolling to find that annoying filly and her buddy. Got a 27, lolwhatnow."

 

Please be honest -- some of my fondest memories of past tabletop RPGs are the result of bad rolls. I still remember when my friend rolled six ones when trying to shoot a Sith Lord in a Star Wars tabletop. The gun exploded in his hands and set off a humorous chain reaction. But I digress.

 

For the future: if you suspect that you will need to make a roll for something, use whatever stat seems logical and include the roll at the end of your post. In my next post I'll let you know if your roll was necessary or not and then continue per usual. Sound fair?

For ease of...I can't think of the word. But for ease of whatever, just include the total roll at the end of your post in the RP. Spoilerd or not doesn't matter to me.

ACCEPTED. Good to see everypony won't be trundling around in power armor, haha. In addition, your innocent nature (having not seen how crappy the Wasteland can be) endears other ponies and pony-friendly species to you, making them like you more. This mostly translates to conversation, bartering, etc. though you can be creative with it.

I'll take account of it in my post. I tried to make starting skills passive, but future perks can be on your call. I have a separate list keeping track of everyone's stats and perks, so I'll know all of your passive skills if/when they are needed.

Malik flinches a little. Is heart sank as he managed to pass on his favorite hat, but none of his wisdom at all. Perhaps he had forgotten that the Wastes has no pity for children or the weak, and will change and corrupt anypony at its will. Even children could turn bitter to dull out the pain... Maybe because he was a robot with ugly, charred, scarred armor. He never went for looks and, well, maybe that's why people found him so displeasing when trying to reach out for people. But he believed this was a case of a broken heart and a pony who's starting to cast aside her kindness to stifle the heartbreak of losing her father. And we she did hurt his feelings...he didn't blame her. She didn't have much of anyone to trust anymore, save her friend. And the Wastes...the Wastes is no place to not have a friend.

 

Gah, right in the feels. This always happens when I get in on a roleplay.   Way to get philosophical with the filly, by the way. Just remember:

 

 

And then she spits on your face. "Go away, stupid shithead." She takes the hat off and cradles it almost lovingly in her hooves, nestling back into her box.

It might be easy to figure out by now, but I'll point it out anyway: Alizarin's karmic affiliation (by Fallout's standards) is good. Not very good, since he will do/has done things considered evil, but not quite neutral since generally his good actions out-way the bad ones. Why I posted this I don't know.

As to be expected, karma will play a role in how much certain characters and factions like/dislike you. For the most part, everyone seems at least neutral, which is excellent. Playing with an evil character can be difficult.
