"So...any idea what artifact does? Or, more precisely, will it lead us to the Seneschal's lair or something like that? I wouldn't mind having to cross mountains, rivers, or hills to get there." Dimitri said as he paced along with the others. "Think they have a strange hierarchy maybe? The cultists I mean. Do they have many in the group, or is only major powerful members? Could the artifact be protected?"

 

Dimitri asked many questions, he always talked a lot when he was anxious and worried. "Hopefully there will be no more mind trickery though..." He spoke through gritted teeth, but relaxed. He usually traveled in the Everfree when he was bored, but never this thick into it.

"It pertains to each sight. I'll recite the poem for you ponies right now," Draco said then started to recite one more line " When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end

 Wings of light and dark spread afar
 She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting,"

Acheron nodded at Dimitri's theory.

"Yes actually, that's what they're meant to do, lead us to the next clue and artifact. I'm not exactly sure what, but these artifacts will act as a means to develop a... certain type of magic which will help us release the six..."

Acheron then addressed Dimitri's next question.

"I do believe they have lesser members, but I think that only the most powerful of their sect are the ones we'll be needing to deal with... and unfortunately, like I said before, I doubt they'll be any less troublesome than the last one..."

 

Acheron was slightly confused at Draco's recital.

"And this means what? Unless... this is where you got your first clues?"

Dimitri swore in Sovestrian under his breath. "These cultists are so aggravating. Such a weak tactic to use a stallion's mind as a weapon against himself." He slightly shook his head and awaited for the group to uncover the artifact. "Hey Acheron, think we will encounter the lesser members at all? I wouldn't mind some vengeance for what has happened. Crush a few meek skulls, or something like that..." Dimitri laughed as his eyes hazed a little, but immediately went back to their normal deep yellow and white coloring.

"That was the first clue. You see the goddess is actually Celestia and her sister Luna. War well I think it was talking about the three tribes. The beasts us. Then the gift of the goddess would be light and day but also where they would show their presence," Draco explained the clue "And where do you think it is? The temple of the two alicorn sisters,"

"Not necessarily weak, it is a cunning tactic and has been used to undermine many ponies, even entire nations. The mind is a powerful thing, and sometimes your only weapon against foes."

The unicorn turned towards Draco. "It sounds reasonable... Let's go already then."

Acheron sighed impatiently as he waited for the others to finish talking and move on.

"Like you said Dimitri, let us talk and walk, it seems these ponies don't move unless you or I do anything first," the unicorn said with a smirk. Treading swiftly through the Everfree, Acheron restarted the conversation.

"I believe so yes. Afterall, we were hoofpicked by Celestia herself, so I expect the lesser cultists to be inspired to prove themselves to their masters, and THE Master they all follow."

Acheron slowed down his pace as he asked Dimitri a question.

"Something I've been wanting to ask you... Why do you not use your magic? Would you be willing to use it if the situation desperately calls for it?"

Acheron waited by expectatnly, although he was admittedly slightly nervous knowing Dimitri might lash out at his question considering he held it in such serious regard.

Delia walked along with the others thinking of the words she had just heard. "To tell you the truth, i haven't had any run in with cults before. Just rival tribes, wild animals and the occasional bandit." She said while catching a glimpse of Dimitri. Are they really that powerful? If so i must fight them.She thought as she trotted along.

Draco coughed to get Acheron's attention and said "Look Acheron not everywhere is magic tolerant like here in Equestria. And I'll leave it at that," Draco looked around "Feels almost weird doesn't it. We're going the way the elements of harmony went to rescue Luna," Draco observed. "Sorry that me being a crazy pony again," Draco said with a smile.

Dimitri walked along with the group as he talked with Acheron. "Is not weak at all, no. I just say it is an unfair tactic. Very evil, and very dark." He sighed, and then looked at Draco and the others. "I guess that we are just natural leaders then." Dimitri gave a little grin and a hearty laugh. "The reason why I don't use my magic? Is a long story, and at the moment it isn't the right time to say anything. These surroundings are too shady." He looked around at the trees.

 

"I'll say it when we have a good plan and maybe a camp at some point. I just don't like it....many personal reasons. I tried using it only twice before since my homeland was taken over. Both times were awful. Especially the second time. Something dark occurred in me the second time. I don't want to say a lot, but I did some heinous things before to save my wife a while back. Made a deal with a crossroads demon...unimaginable powers, but they did something to my already broken mind." He sighed looking at the canopy. "I don't want to talk about this right now please..."

"Certain pursuits of magic aren't tolerated much here either Draco. I wasn't criticizing Dmitri either, I was simply wondering, but I see that it was probably not the best thing to do in this group..."

Acheron turned back to Dimitri when he saw he had to say something. Hearing of his pact with a demon and his dark powers made Acheron realize why he didn't want to use it or even talk much of it... Intrigued in Seeing they were similar in this aspect, and at the mention of a dark pact, Acheron leaned in slightly closer to avoid being heard by the others.

"I see why now... Look, I can help you should you so desire, with this... issue... I know many things nopony should dare even think about..."

Acheron then stepped away and continued walking. Again, he noticed he was sharing empathy with another. It didn't feel so strange now though,but quite reassuring, that he was still somewhat like the rest.

"But... am I doing this to help, or simply because I want this same prowess?"

"I really think we shouldn't camp in the Everfree. Because I'd rather not fight a manticore again because last time I barely survived and have both my wings shattered. You were there Dimitri. You used a torch to scare it off. I still feel phantom pains sometimes it's not pleasant," Draco said the last part mre to himself. While he was a leader of this merry band of misfits he also liked to get the other's opinions.

"Well, none of you really did get much sleep from last night due to our Seneschal friend, I suppose it would do you all some good... Keep in mind though that we'll be waking up and travelling through Everfree in the nighttime..."\

Acheron resolved not to sleep along with them, deciding instead to be more of a watchman, and perhaps have some time to read his homepacked scrolls which he had yet to read...

"I would also prefer not to sleep in the Everfree forest. And if we do, I doubt I will be getting much sleep." She said, looking around as they walked (I am just assuming they are walking)
The forest was beautiful...in a very dark way. If you got past the scary evil side of it...it was rather pretty.

Dimitri looked at Draco. "Of course not here. If anything, I'm hoping we can find and defeat the cult already but if we need to camp I really hope we can camp somewhere snowy. Maybe a mountain. That'd bring my spirits up. Remind me of home." He smiled. "I remember extremely well. Knocked you off your feet immediately! Lucky I was there I'd say, or else you would have been doomed." Dimitri turned back to Acheron.

 

"In all honesty, I'd rather not use it anymore. I'd have rather been born of the earth than of magic. I always wonder why it was me....no one in my family, and I mean every generation, was ever a unicorn. The things I've done can't be taken back, but maybe they can be contained. It's still there too. Every time I get infuriated I hear the corruption calling me. Not with a voice, but something I can't describe. I don't want to become something I'm not."

Acheron pulled Dimitri aside for a short while.

"Magic and knowledge, like anything, is a tool to be used. One just has to learn how to hone it and utilize it correctly," he told him. "I'm... much like you in the sense of rather forbidden magic... I can teach you how to use it correctly. Trust me, it can become an powerful asset to you. Keep this between us however, some things go well beyond the bounds of even unorthodox knowledge themselves..."

Acheron returned to the group. "So what are we deciding?"

Draco said slightly "A want to be release. The need to use it. The intent of it. I think that was scares you my friend. don't take this the wrong way alright I'm just saying. You're afraid what your magic will do to you. That's why you focus on Fluttershy. Focus on her gentle nature. Makes you feel whole am I correct in assuming?" Draco asked then looked to Diamond. "Though the Everfree is dangerous my dear lady there is a life unto itself. Hear thee birds singing through the air, the roars of the fierce manticores, feel the wind beneath your wings. It's wild, dangerous, and yet simply alluringly beautiful no?" Draco asked at the last part. "Sorry, sorry I get alittle poetic some times. So I'll just shut up now for awhile," he said with a blush on his face.

 

"Well we might as well go to the temple then rest for an hour there,"

Dimitri wanted to retort, but held back. He felt that later would be a better time to talk about such things. He went back to the group along with Acheron, and heard Draco's decision on what exactly to do. "...Is true with my wife. Without her I'd probably be dead now...nonetheless I say we should go to the temple. The more we get done, the better I feel and the closer to beating this evil we get. Though the rest part isn't necessary for me. I will refrain from doing that. Is too much rest for me anyway."

"personally, I do not mind this Everfree Forest. I mean, you're looking at a Zebra who slept with Lions and who knows what else."Delia said, "But if its outside your comfort zones then i don't expect you to do that." Delia then trotted over to Diamond.

"Oh, I'm sure if we were sleeping close by one another we wouldn't be sleeping" Delia said while laughing. she then shook her head and her heart sank."I'm sorry, i don't know where that came from. Maybe I DID have too much alcohol." She said shamefully.

She smiled slightly at Draco's poetic words before replying. "You don't need to be sorry for being poetic. I think its quite lovely." She said.
He was right...if you listened close, the birds chirped away and the sun shawn through the tree's and the air had a soft gentle breeze to it...it was quite relaxing but the words from Delia slowly brought Diamond back to the real world. "Maybe you drank too much ? Oh no my dear...you did drink too much. When we take a break, I know a few spells that will fix you up." She said.

"We all get a little buzzed off of alcohol or it could be you like mares," Draco said jokingly "I don't mind at all. What I'm a stallion sheesh. Plus I would be keeping an eye on things keeping you to close to me draping my large wings over you two as you slept?" Draco said slightly. "Er I think I'll shut up now before I get hurt. Last time I opened my mouth and inserted my hoof was at the grand galloping gala. I personality insulted Celestia's nephew Blueblood Nothing blue about him no good arsehole. I should stick a 12 foot pole up his arse. Disrespect my little sister will he by saying she is nothing but a gold digging mare. Oh I showed that little cretin," Draco said and bit the air infront of him as he ranted. "Oh I'm sorry I let my anger get the best of me,"

"Whatever the case, the decision to go to this temple has been made. Once we're there we can talk all about who's going to sleep next to who, and who isn't going to sleep at all."

Delia was reluctant to reply to Diamond. "yes i think that would be best...just in case i say anything else i might regret." Delia said as she turned her attention to Draco. "It's both actually. I do like the mares as well but i am a little drunk." She said with a small smile on her face. In reality she wasn't drunk at all. She just needed an excuse if her attempt at flirting with Diamond went wrong.

"Oh cut the crap Delia I know when some pony is drunk off their flanks. I should know I tried to beat Dimitri here in a drinking contest. I think I had to get a new liver after that," Draco said as he 'pondered' that tidbit "Anyhow I should know when a pony is drunk," Draco said with a smiled. "Honestly I don't mind that thought at all,"

"Let us first get to the temple before we go on rants of flirting. I'm not objecting to it, I just want to hurry and get settled before anything happens to us in the forest." Dimitri was anxious to do work, and was impatient in dawdling about. "While you rest, maybe I can go off and get something done. Find the artifact, and get this all done and over with so we can move on to the next one." He started towards the temple.

Diamond rolled her eyes at Draco and Delia. She thought a little bit more about what Delia had said and her eyes widened slightly...she hadn't even noticed...was Delia...Flirting.
Diamond turned a bright shade of pink which was difficult to see against her purple coat. *And that was so obvious too...Diamond...you really need to learn more about flirting...that...UGH.* She thought. She was half flattered half...interested in what Delia thought of her but decided to wait until later to bring it up...by that she just probably wouldn't bring it up for fear of embarrassing herself.
