Draco laid in the cabin enjoying the heat. he missed his home though it was lonely and long way from Ponyville. His ear went up as he stared at the fire with in the fire place. He hummed to himself truly thinking. He didn't realize the danger he was in as he was remembering his past.

Delia nodded her head and galloped behind Diamond.

"I'm guessing he would be in there." Delia said as a cabin came into view. The chimney had smoke coming through and a light could be seen illuminating one of the windows.

Delia galloped past the others and saw Dimitri was up. 

"You go on ahead, I have to tend to something first."

 

Diamond nodded at Delia and ran for the cabin. When Delia was far away, Diamond couldn't help but grin...this was working out so perfectly.

She replaced her grin with a look of panic and pushed open the cabin door before running in. "DRACO...DRACO WE NEED TO LEAVE." She yelled. "Envy...They're here...and they are so much stronger than we thought. We need to run, Draco, please." She said.

Draco jumped slightly up "Calm down Diamond and don't yell please. now what did you say?" Draco asked as he saw Diamond looking panicked. He was now on edge as he looked into Diamond's eyes. "You said something about Envy?" Draco asked as he looked around for those sisters.

Delia trotted towards the awakened pony. To her, he seemed mad. She approached the group and took a deep breath.

"I see you are awake now, Dimitri. How are you feeling?" She asked.

Delia felt like she knew what his answer might be but it was nothing but a formality to him.

Draco jumped slightly up "Calm down Diamond and don't yell please. now what did you say?" Draco asked as he saw Diamond looking panicked. He was now on edge as he looked into Diamond's eyes. "You said something about Envy?" Draco asked as he looked around for those sisters.

 

Diamond nodded and sobbed...but on the inside she was laughing, did Draco expect them to be in the cabin? What an idiot.

"They tried t-to capture m-me...s-said something about leading the r-rest of you off the p-path..." She said, wiping the tears from her cheeks. "D-Did you find the artifact?" She asked.

"I am fine Delia...." Dimitri sighed as Etonat tightened his arm around Dimitri. Etonat looked at Delia. "Oh Delia, I thought you ran off with that little purple debutante. Guess you care to an extent to see how Moose is doing. Well, he is chipper, my lass. No worries. Not that you really care..." Etonat looked back at Dimitri. "Ignore her Moose. She feigns care about you. I mean, she ran off to see that alicorn instead of staying with you. Says a lot about her character. Even Archie stayed with you...and he is not a great example of a stallion." Etonat fiendishly smiled as he smoked his cigar.

 

Dimitri just sighed as he nodded with what the demon had to say. "I am fine..." He whispered as Etonat kept smirking and smoking. "Well, the party is almost all here. Delia the assuming, and not so caring mare. Archie the greedy and arrogant knowledge seeker, and Zefira the partially sleepy little Assasin whatever. We just need the pompous Diamond, and the lustful Draco. Such a excellent team. I bet you all function beautifully together." Etonat shook his head as he started to finish the cigar.

 

"I might seem like an arrogant prick....and I am....but I want to help you blokes. See how disfunctional you all are? How will Moose ever see his wife again with allies like you? I just want to try and get the team back together. Go team!" Etonat sarcastically cheered the last part and put his cigar out. "Well, I actually could care less about any of you and your personal relations with each other, but I would like to stop these Seneschals..."

"Tell me Dimitri, are you just going to sit there and let this sorry excuse for a dark king treat you as if you were his pet? That certainly isn't the attitude I expected from you, but if you are going to be so foolish as to allow that to happen, so be it..."

Acheron began to wonder where Diamond was. Delia had returned, and her expression clearly say she had found her... so... where was she?

Delia laughed and shook her head.

"You aren't a very good judge of character are you? It would be wise to let me explain my actions. I won't though; A simple mind such as yours would not even begin to comprehend my words. Sure, you had me with your sweet nothings...but your arrogant attitude put me off. Furthermore, we don't need your help. Sure we are dysfunctional but, if you were a strategist you would know our differences, whether they be amongst ourselves or not, are also a strongpoint."

Delia turned her attention to Dimitri.

"Dimitri, I ask you to leave this...thing behind. We have much ground to cover."

Delia was done with waiting around. She was eager to leave Avalon. Mostly because of the boat ride they would have to take to get to the next location, where ever it may be.

Delia then turned towards Acheron.

"So, Draco is in a cabin over there. Diamond should be in there with him. We should go and get them if we are ready to leave." She said as pointed to the smoke in the sky with her hoof.

Dimitri looked up at Acheron with a concerned look. Is all okay.... he said, but the expression on his face seemed to suggest otherwise. Almost as if he was holding something back from saying it out loud. "That's a good Moose." Etonat said as he smirked at Dimitri. "Well, sorry I can not stay for the group reunion, but I really need to get back to my domain. I need to deal with some minor malarkey. Do not fret though, I will be back sure enough. You can count on that Moose. Same goes for you Archie, Delia, and sleepy there..." Etonat said as he faded into a grey mist and sunk into the earth.

 

As Etonat left Dimitri gave a sigh of relief and put his hooves over his eyes. "You not understand...do not mess with that demon please. Just do not mess with him. No back talk, no sarcasm, and no violence. Leave him alone please...please..." Dimitri said with angst in his voice. It was obvious he was troubled with something large.

Acheron approached Dimitri. It was obvious there was something the stallion did not want to mention out loud.

"I don't fear his kind. What is it that he's done to you Dimitri? Don't play it off as if it is nothing, because there is clearly something about that demon you yourself are nervous about..."

Acheron spoke to Delia.

"We'll head there soon, they shouldn't be too hard to find..."

Delia spit at the ground when she heard Dimitri's request.

"If you say so,friend." Delia grunted and closed her eyes.

Delia opened her eyes.

Zefira eased her stance and looked around.

"Ok so he is gone...good. I hated pretending he wasn't there. Though, I did space out. Did he say anything to me?" She asked

"I can not speak bad to him. You should not either. I not want to remember please...." Dimitri began to cry. The comment by Delia, going through mental Hell, and then having to remember one of the worst events in his life just made him break down. He was sick. Physically becoming sick. "I just have to get to her please, we need to just fine her already. None of you fucking understand me. Why are you all so ignorant and cruel? Why can you not even begin to try and understand my pain? I just need to get to her." Dimitri sobbed as he tried to forget the past that was being brought up.

 

Etonat was a necessary evil. Dimitri knew the consequences of working with a demon, and knew what would happen when he released thousands of them by releasing Etonat. The deal he made he does not regret, but the fear of the...other one...he made haunts him.

Delia bowed her head and sighed. This might have been the first time she saw a stallion appear so broken. Delia trotted over to Dimitri and did as she would do when dealing with a crying colt or filly.

"There there...let it all out." She said as she hugged Dimitri hoping to comfort him.

"I can try to understand Dimitri."

Did the asshole forget that you watched your husband get viciously killed?!

Delia cringed a little but shook it off and smiled.

Dimitri tried to resist the hug, but ended up giving in and let Delia hug him. He did not care what others thought of him. Dimitri was normally tough, reliant and clear headed. He was reaching a breaking point though, and could not hold the sadness back. He sobbed as he tried to talk. "You not understand....Etonat...I can not..." he tried to let it out, but was having trouble even saying the words. He hugged Delia tighter, and kept sobbing.

"Dimitri, you're my friend... I will do what I can to help you, I promised you that. Just calm down, it will all turn out okay. We will get your beloved Fluttershy back and end the threat of this damnable cult of the Seneschals. Don't give up yet, continue to be strong for her."

Acheron continued to hear Etonat's name come up in Dimitri's despairing words. What had the demon done to him.

"What did he do to you Dimitri?"

Delia hummed softly and pulled out a piece of cloth. She patted Dimitri's eyes and lowered the cloth to his muzzle in case he needed to blow his nose.

"Save your words, Dimitri. Just let the tears do their job." She said as she rocked a little.

Delia looked at Acheron with an apathetic face. She closed her eyes and continued her attempt to comfort Dimitri

Dimitri tried to breath. Each breath was short, and stuttered. By the time it seemed that he was somewhat calm, he tried to speak and as he spoke the calmness left him again. "She died..." it was all he could say before he closed his eyes and bit his lip trying not to make any noises as he cried. Delia's kindness did help, but the horrid memories were still too much for the stallion. Dimitri spoke to himself, out loud, but quietly in his native language. "Они взяли ее у меня..." he repeated the phrase several times before he stopped to hug Delia tighter. He needed some kind of comfort, and the hug was the only thing he could grab hold of.

Delia only continued to hum and rock back and forth with Dimitri. She didn't like seeing Dimitri in this state; she thought they shared similarities. In her eyes, they both seemed to be pillars of strength for the ones they loved and cared about. Delia wanted to say something to the stallion but, she figured she would let him continue with his tears.

"Dimitri, no one has died, not yet, and for that matter no one is going to die. I don't know what that pitiful demon showed to you in your unconscious state, but you should know his kind is known for their trickery. If that fool threatened to hurt your beloved, believe me that I will help you put an end to him..."

Acheron began to feel the strong urge to go after Diamond at the cabin. He decided he would after a few more words with Dimitri.

Dimitri shook his head, and looked at Acheron as Delia rocked back and forth all while still sobbing. "You not understand...she died...she died.." Dimitri was trying to work the words out, but each time he even said the words it hurt him. He looked at Acheron again, and took a quivering breath. "I could not save her....she passed away months ago." Dimitri, through his tears tried to speak again. "I was not fast enough......he helped me.." It was all he could muster. His throat was burning, and his chest throbbed in pain.

 

Dimitri knew that Acheron thought it was an illusion he was speaking about, but Dimitri kept trying to tell what happened. The pain of that time was just too much for him. He felt weak. Physically and mentally weak. He tried his best to explain to his friends what happened, but he could not speak since he was too overtaken with past depression.

"Are... are you saying that Etonat helped you resurrect Fluttershy?"

Acheron was beginning to understand why Dimitri was so nervous, so scared at the mention of him and the others offending the demon Etonat. However, this made Acheron want to challenge the demon even more if it meant freeing Dimitri and Fluttershy from his bonds...

Dimitri nodded at Acheron. "Helped me save her.....asked for nothing...." he was feeling sick again. His stomach was twisting and felt like it was in a tight knot. He felt like he failed her. He accepted the demon's curse of power to save her, but he was too late when he found her. She was ill, and passed away several days after he brought her home. The feeling of that made Dimitri nearly die himself. Nearly committed suicide many months ago.

"It seems though that he did," Acheron said to Dimitri as he walked over to sit down next to the crying stallion. Etonat, though he had not necessarily enslaved Dimitri like he had others who came to him and his associates for deals, had still put chains on the life of Dimitri. The poor stallion lived in fear, having to keep a constant worry and lookout for the demon to make sure he does things that would placate the demon so that it would not threaten his beloved.

"He rules over you through fear Dimitri, just like your homeland's oppressive government. He subtly hold chains over you, he makes you serve him indirectly by giving him the satisfaction knowing that you will do anything for him if he leaves your beloved in peace..."

Delia began to understand Dimitri's situation through His and Acheron's back and forth. She tightened her hug with Dimitri.
"Is there anything we can do to possibly even the debt?" She asked.

Zefira looked into the sky and back at the group.
"Imma go see what the lustful courier and the Alicorn are up to. Hopefully nothing vulgar." She said as she walked towards the cabin. Zefira didn't want to leave her teddy bear but she gathered he was needed to console the red stallion. Zefira trotted along and eventually came upon the cabin. She knocked at the door and waited for a response.

Dimitri was nearly inconsolable. "I just not want her taken from me again..." He said as he tried to wipe the tears from his face. He was unclear about Etonat's intentions. Whether it was good or not. Etonat never bothered him again up until now. Dimitri knew the chaos he released when he set free the demon king. Thousands, and perhaps even millions of souls would be sent to Hell through making deals. Damning them all to eternal suffering. He did not regret what he did. Even though it would cause so much death in the long run, it saved his wife.

 

Etonat was a curious being. Asking nothing from Dimitri two times. The things he gave were hard to give too, even for a demon. Yet, he asked for nothing in return. Was Etonat making Dimitri his slave, or did he have other motives? Dimitri dared not to question it. He only knew that he did not want anyone speaking ill of the being who helped him. Whether out of respect, or fear for his wife....Dimitri did not know, but it was certain he did not want anything bad to happen to her again.

Acheron put a hoof on Dimitri's shoulder.

"And she shall not be taken from you in any way..."

Acheron noticed Zefira had walked off, and not wanting her to have to go off on her own and run into trouble without aid, gave one last reassuring glance at Dimitri before he followed after her and came across the cabin.

"Looks like they're here..."
