Ponies and Harmony

Philosophy Pony

Recommended Posts

Harmony is something that we as bronys should know about. By looking at most bronys too, you can see that the fandom expresses a good lot of harmonious attitude.

But what/who in the show do you think creates this attitude specifically? Do the elements of harmony mean anything to you personally? And have you ever made a real world application with the moral lessons shared by the show?

I'm interested because my friend made a comment today saying that all of the brony's she knows are either shy or super friendly (near the point of pinkie pie) but for the most part very peaceful. And I can agree with that, but I'd like to here why through peoples stories img-1377250-1-derpy_emoticon1.png

I agree most bronies match the personality a pony from the show or maybe just a few points from a selection of ponies, Like I am a bit of Rainbow, Applejack and most like da pinkie. And there elements normally match 1 pony or 2. I think I match Pinkies and Rainbows though AJ is best pony :3

This thread should be in Sugarcube Corner.Back to the topic,i know what you're talking about and you're right. Most bronies and pegasisters and kind, friendly and loving people.Probably because the show has nice life lessons and hearthwarming sweet stories.Sadly, every fandom has its dark side, and this one ain't no exception. There are bronies who are racist, draw r34 art, write clopfics and other stuff like that.Just ignore them, and go with the friendly bronies

Just the fact that we are bronies. Most of us aren't the kind of people who are looknig for trouble. We are (most of us) very open minded and well even though "love & tolerate" is not as active anymore, I think that there's some love & harmony within us all wub.png

oh man that sounded so gay..

..awesome!

Do the elements of harmony mean anything to you personally?

no.

And have you ever made a real world application with the moral lessons shared by the show?

Well not what I can remember at the moment, but I'm sure that they will affect me in some way or another without me even knowing about it.

My personality is that of a pinkie pie, crossed a rainbow dash with a dash of twilight sparkle and hay lets throw in applejack too. I tend to have the talking capabilities of pinkie pie the ego of rainbow dash the knowledge of twilight sparkle and a overall honesty of apple jack.

yea I know :S I was in the everfree forest section when I wanted to make a post. It didn't occur to me. Won't a Mod come by and change that anyway?

yea that's a bummer. If bronys start popping up in my town I will bring it back (or attempt anyway),

I'd say my personality type is most like Fluttershy's with a bit of Twilight Sparkle. I am an INTJ, I believe Twilight is an ISTJ, and Fluttershy is an ISFJ. But, I have no idea. All I know is that I am really shy and introverted.

And, it's no surprise that Bronies' personalities are often similar to those of the characters in the show. They were made to be relatable, after all.

And, after becoming a Brony, I have indeed tried to incorporate some of the values from the show into my life(try to be more kind, outgoing, and etc.). But, I try to model my values after those of characters from shows, movies, and video games all the time.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

I defiantly think that I (and everyone) relates to at least one or multiple of the Mane 6 which i think helps.

I think being a brony also appeals/ people enjoy being around people that are not always out to get at people and tolerate a bit more, other places of the internet are just horrible places to be!

This is such a different kind of show because its geared to so many different age groups and people. But I do think that they have to be a gentle harmonic sort of person to be able to enjoy the show. They have to be comfortable in their own skin and their beliefs because unfortunately as a lot of us know, watching cartoons such as MLP is frowned upon because its "a little girl show." Which we all know isn't true, but how many bronies do you think would be in existence now if they'd had the strength to stand up to peer pressure.

I think there are a lot of things which create this but I think one of main ones is that many people are on a subconcious level want a little more positivity in their lives and that is what MLP has given to many people. It has great lessons which are simple enough for small children to understand yet still profound enough to where adults can apply them, many of us learned these lessons as children but as we grow older it can get more and more difficult to apply even some simple lessons as things get more and more complicated so sometimes we need a bit of reminding.

All the elements of harmony are of course important but some bronies do resonate with one of another for various reasons and this often coincides with their favorite ponies. I am sort of an oddball mix between Applejack and Twilight Sparkle myself with my inner Applejack being slightly more dominant but my inner Twilight still having a significant influence. But I can find at least one of two things I have in common with each mane 6 character even with Pinkie Pie and Rarity who I have almost nothing in common with,  as a matter of fact Pinkie Pie was my 2nd favorite pony when I first started watching MLP because she reminds me of my Dad.

That is not an easy question to answer. I think, for me, it is the fact that everypony in the show strives to be optimistic and helpful; that there are dangers and trials in their lives, but they can be overcome though the strength gained from community and from love. MLP:FiM is full of joy and triumph. It makes a stark counterpoint to much of the other media out there that focuses on the negative, on violence and on fear.

So yes, there is something that runs the length and breadth of the show: love, courage, joy, victory, community, affirmation.

Or, to put it simply: light.
