I really like the idea and I am happy that you put it forward, even if I personally see it as not the best option for the time being it's good to have open communication about different desires and ambitions for something but the OC's who are selected will have attention and specific styles added to them-voice acting/ personalities and animations...especially animations and if Lunar can pull it off, special coded mechanics to them-will come out far better polished. It might of been worth doing it if it was never done before but it has been done before by soul caliber and that game isn't even that popular because it focuses more on cosmetics than it does game play. There really is no such thing as saving time artistically This is the mistake of newer artist and designers that we can rush our projects and styling In our attempts to do this minor/ small errors appear that ruin the over all presentation of the piece appear which mount up to affect the overall quality. The custom move feature? Well, dang it. I still can't remember that stick man game. Custom move feature needs time to develop as well. Skeleton and stuff, but very interesting. Better start with some OCs, then focus on the game features. What will make this game special? Determine that. @Lunar Red, the programming language? Pinkeh asked me to put this here. I know the game you are talking about. It is not a fighting game. It's basically just an stick man animator with minor physics and damage points glow out. It was a hard thing to manipulate and was only doable thanks to being 3D, no such thing is doable in drawn characters unless they were vectors and even then their movement would be limited- you couldn't make them move outside of their limited dimension Meaning, you can't make them turn around, bend their hips in a direction other that they are fixated on. It would look bad trust me...like...really...really bad-what this game should offer is something far more simple. Games can be dramatically improved by the simplest additions of skills such as bursting and focus attacks, even MVC capcom has xfactor which is basically a limited stat boost. I don't think lunar red is out to make a en entirely revolutionary game. I think a large amount of it is purely for fun. Plus, actually making custom moves, special or normal would be ripe for abuse game mechanics wise. I can see it already, you'd be drowned in unbalanced characters unless he restricts the customization...which kind of defeats the purpose of having to begin with. Same. I see we agree with each other. Still, let's face. What you said...we want that for every game don't we. I know I would like to have it. Finisher: Pulls out a book and reads it briefly, before stumbling backwards in shock when a beam of light and an amulet/necklace float out (like the elements of harmony or the alicorn amulet) It attaches itself to her and then she floats up in the air and a giant orb of magic appears around her. Everyone then explodes. Then Silver lowers to the ground and the amulet falls back into the book which teleports away. Silver is left woozy for a second before returning to normal. Personality: Silver Skies is a weak but intelligent Pegasus (kind of like Twilight, but a Pegasus) who is fascinated by magical artefacts such as the Elements of Harmony. Abtout all of the OCs requested have put high speed or Defense but none of them have a high attack. In a fighting game, it is important to have diversity with the fighter's stats. A couple of fighters with these kinds of stats if fine, but there needs to be some high attack level fighters. And yes, while he has high defense, he also has a high attack, as he would be, if he were accepted, tanks. His speed is lacking, but something needs to be like that to keep him from being OP. He has a very low attack and medium speed, but he has a very high Defense. Yeah, there are a lot of high speed characters too. Its something that, I dont think, would show off the potential of everyones OC. Id rather have Civil Sinset have a moveset that is his own, rather than an imitation of one. It wouldnt really show off personality and even though there wouldnt be many OCs at first, you could still patch in a certain amount at different times. Edit: I might want to work on music as well. Im going to dabble in my studio again and see how I produce things, if it goes well, Ill throw some samples your way. I agree, especially because everypony is apparently going to have their own finisher, and that wouldn't work quite as well with being able to put in custom characters. Either the finishers would have to be really broad and not relate to any one pony too much, which I think would kind of suck, or you would have to pick a finisher from a premade list, and I imagine that most of the time they wouldn't make much sense if they were custom made for someone else's OC.
