Have you ever heard of a Narcocorrido?

I listen to alot of mexican radio and I always hear these songs that have to due with mexican drug cartels. I wonder why they sing these songs about sicarios(hitmen). Its like if someone made a song praising John wayne gacy or osama bin laden. Suprinsingly alot of people like to listen to these songs about rapists, murderers or drug traffickers. Alot of singers who have sung these songs have been murdered very brutally(usually beheaded or mutilated)for pissing off a particular drug lord or cartel. I dont think these songs should get alot of airplay as they praise criminals. But theyre pretty popular in mexico nevertheless the meaning. If you don't agree with me Im just voicing my probably unpopular opinion. Sorry for the long post just wanted to put detail.
