I'm very interested in this RP, my OC is Cosmo Shadesteel

Does being Luna's apprentice count as royalty? Even if it doesn't, Cosmo won't try to use any contacts with Canterlot to boost the mission. I'm also interested in whether or not he can keep his swords. Neither one of these are application altering, but I base alot of my RP around having or not having these background pieces.

No, it doesn't count as royalty. I'm gonna have to say no to his swords as he seems OP when you have his swords combined with his telekinesis.

Could you also add a bit telling why he's in Manechester at the academy?

Cosmo notices the disease only affects older ponies, children are unaffected. The Academy is place full of bright young minds belonging to children worried about parents they don't get to see as often anymore and are now scared they'll never see them again. Cosmo finds the best of minds work best under pressure, finding the three immune children was simple luck. How he got there could be a specially prepared teleportation spell to get him to the academy, he could've reacted badly to the disease and was unable to simply jump back to Canterlot.

Don't worry, it takes a while for some certain ponies and it's possible for your character to notice the dreams nd tell the group first. It's your decision if you want the infection to go quickly or slowly.

Besides, the only time it's absolutely certain you can get it is if the Mane 3 are asleep or weak in some way. The rest of the time you're decently protected

Cool you're in. I'll add a fifth stallion. But most of the ponies at the Academy are teens. Ponies over 14 are susceptible to the disease. But I'll make it so that the Academy is for younger ponies, too.

Is there any way that a character may have growing problems with the nightmares throughout, but not to too dangerous of an extent? (At least until later in.) Acting sort of insane might be entertaining.

He hasn't died, and the process of him getting the disease is extremely slow because he's powerful, but he is slowly recieving the dreams (and they would be like "Cupcakes" x 1000 scariness for it to be enough to even start to wearhim down.0.0 he's just not the kind of guy to get scared easily)

You could always be a temp and act crazy too.

I might enjoy being a permanent character that eventually has to overcome the disease or something, but whatever ends up happening. I'm not looking to magically be cured or to be killed off early.
