@,

Ocean didn't acknowledge Frostbite...or anypony else.

She had wanted to keep this a secret...but now everypony knew. *I wish this damn potion worked faster.* She thought, staring down at her clear watery hooves.
If she could have...she would have sighed exasperatedly but...she had no air in her lungs...she had no lungs at all actually.

With a slight tremble, her face turned toward Frostbite as she replied back.

"I'm.. Fine. But I wont be satisfied until I know what reason it was for him to leave like that."

She reminded of herself about the cut at the top of her head. But then noticed that it had stopped bleeding, so a slight relief went across her body.

The only problem now was the blurriness of her vision, which was caused by some of the blood to roll into her eyes when she was lying on the ground.

@,

Frostbite frowned at the cut she just noticed above the ponies eye, and her horn started to glow. "You got that checked out? How did you cut it?" she asked concernedly. "and he left because he's a coward, simple as that" she wiped some of the dripping blood on her foreleg, flicking her head back for a moment.

"I'm fine." She repeated. "All I did was run into the railing when the sub shook.."

Moon knew that she wasn't 'fine' though. But to her concern, she didn't want to be the pony to hold up everyone just because of her own injuries.

Though, she did feel quite happy that there were few who did look out for others.

"Thank you for the offer though.. I generally appreciate things like that."

"Uh...huh" she nodded skeptically "well...if you need it cleaning, my magic is pure, dont worry" she laughed and her horns glow died off as she walked over to her original seat. "Now captain, can I get some sleep?" she asked and waved a dismissive hoof as she wiped the blood from her foreleg with a towel from her bag.

@Dawn Stripes

Steel looked around in a daze. He hadn't been strapped in for the launch and somewhere in the back of his incoherent thoughts, he knew he had a concussion. Ponies yelling, magic, whatever it was outside still after them, he couldn't sort through it all.

He made his way over to Giant and smiled, despite himself.

"Hey Seargeant." He uneasily greeted. "I know you're probably not a medic, but could you have a look at my head? It's not feeling too good?" He must have looked and sounded utterly pathetic, but he couldn't stand the pain much longer. It was like his brain was in a vice.

Giant handed Steel Accord and and Moon Wave what he could for their injuries. He was no doctor--the best he could proscribe them for head trauma was to strap a bandage over whatever was bleeding, and make sure they had a little water to drink and tell them to lie down. When Steel Accord complained of pain, he gave him half the painkillers in his tiny first aid kit. The bandaging was already gone.

And we haven't even made it to Atlantis.

To Frostbite, he said, "Lie down, do whatever you want." He sighed. "If this crate doesn't steer itself, I'm not holding out any hope. And also..." He nodded towards the real captain, Iron Hoof. "Leave him alone."

He gave the captain a hard look. The captain gave a similarly flinty look back. Naval pony--military, not just sea-loving. He saw it in the stallion's eyes, and understood it in a different  way. It was a...soldier thing. Yeah. Sounded less tired when you put it that way.

Even otherwise, the situation was too familiar. He didn't want to deal with this. Anything but dealing with this again. He hadn't had to know any of the dead, and this time, he wanted desperately, selfishly enough for that to be sufficient.

"He's right," Giant said with a broken voice. "The sub is gone." Just to clear himself of insubordination, he gestured towards his pack. "Captain. There's a side-arm in my packs if you need a replacement weapon."

He shouldn't need to ask for Giant's pistol--technically, Frostbite would thaw it out soon if he had his way, and he almost asked, except that he was beginning to suspect that some of his security was not all that mentally stable.

The final pony he turned to was Ocean Wind--or whatever existed at her. He stared at the wet mass and stayed back, as if dealing with a starving rabid Diamond Dog. The sight of his employer turning into a puddle was enough to raise him from his stupor. "And you," he thundered, "if you can hear me. TALK. What are you?"

Iron Hoof responded with a grunt as they drove into the cave.

Ocean looked up at Giant and pointed at her mouth with her watery hoof and shook her head as if to say she couldn't speak. "This had to happen now didn't it." She thought, leaning against the wall as she placed her hoof back on the floor, creating a small puddle around it.

"Isn't the captain supposed to go down with the ship?" Frostbite piped up "I can't help but feel that would be the best situation right now." She wasn't talking to anypony in particular, more just speaking for the sake of a reaction. "And uh, Ocean? I can understand using moisture and liquid to help with magic, to an extent, obviously" she gestured to her horn "but seriously, it'd be nice to know what in the hay is going on."

Giant stared at the watery Ocean. From what he could tell, she was saying she couldn't speak. Well, Giant wasn't taking his eyes off her until she turned back into a pony or found some other way to explain herself. The fact that he suspected any bullet would go straight through her was the only reason he hadn't seriously considered shooting her yet. Maybe he could get that unicorn to freeze her.

He took a quick look-over at his 'patients'. Moon seemed to be doing all right, as best he could tell, but Steel Accord didn't look too much better. Blast, this was no time for his whole team to fall apart. "Steel," he murmured in the quiet of the throbbing pod engines, NOT taking his eyes of the magic puddle-pony, "you feel any better? Did you take those painkillers?"

@,

"Sure did sarge!" He responded with a slur and salute, any kind of military protocol or his usual bearing completely forgotten. Nonetheless, the painkillers were beginning to work their magic. (OOC: It's Equestria, don't tell me they wouldn't be magic.))

As Steel's vision began to clear and his thoughts become more coherent, he looked around but his attention was quickly arrested.

What he thought was an illusion due to his concussion was true. A mare, made head to hoof of water. Steel was mesmerized, but from what he could make of her facial expression, she looked forlorn and ashamed. Steel got to his hooves, a bit unsteady, but he straightened up. (Didn't want to slouch in front of a lady after all.) He made his way briskly over to her, afraid that whatever was hunting them would attack and send him once again spiraling against a wall and into unconsciousness. He noted that the Master Sergeant was particularly tense. Given the situation of being hunted by a sea monster he could hardly blame him. Steel leaned tightly against the wall the mare was to regard her.

"I know these aren't the best of circumstances for introductions my lady, but my name is Steel Accord of Canterlot." He introduced himself with a hoof to the chest and bow of his head. "I must say I've never seen a mare such as yourself before." He regarded with wonder.

Although it couldn't be seen...Ocean was crying. All that happened was more water droplets dripped from her cheeks...but water was dripping everywhere anyway so...it wasn't noticeable.
What was noticeable was the fact that her legs had collapsed. She fell to the floor with a small splash and put her head in her hooves...making it look like they were connected, which they were. *I just want to go home.* She thought.

Then Steel walked over. She looked up and shook her head, gesturing towards herself then at her bag...hoping that Steel may get what she was trying to say...

There was a small rumble as the submarine surfaced inside the cave...Iron Hoof stood up and climbed up the small ladder in the middle of the room. He pushed open the hatch to see that there were about eight other escape pods...and they had already started unpacking the gear. He looked down at the rest of the ponies. "Steel. That mare is Ocean. She's the one that hired you. We're here now. Pull it together Ocean they were going to find out sooner or later." He said, climbing out of the sub as the ponies already on shore started pulling it in.

She raised a hoof to Giant, to reply back to him. Almost instantly losing balance when Moon did, which indicated she was fairly week from her head bashing against the metal railing.

"I'm all good still.. I already told Frostbite that I don't need anything as of now, except concentration.."

Eventually the sub had surfaced in a cave, and saw Iron reply to Ocean before he walked out. With that, the only thing now was to follow him.

In her weak condition, she had a hard time climbing up out of there, but made it to the roof. Without thinking though, she walked off the wrong way and fell into the water.

It was a good thing for her to get into water. For one it washed away the blood stains from her eye, face, and hoof, and it also cleared up her vision a little.

In there, she stood up in the shallow end and looked around at the massive cave. It appeared to her that there was large passageway just ahead, but knowing that that was the only one there was, she knew they would be the ones to take it.

(OOC: Last post for tonight)

@No-longer-Party Pod.

Giant didn't waste any time getting out of the escape pod once it touched down, grabbing his effects and ducking out of the small exit as quickly as speed permitted. "Be careful, Steel," he called back worriedly before getting onto the beach.

They were in an underground chamber. Like a giant sink. i didn't believe it. It also meant, Giant realized, that the ocean was both below them, and above them, and all around them...and if physics slouched it would rise up and flood this place and get rid of them all...

Pull yourself together. You have ponies depending on you now.

The first thing he did was bang the lights on the sides of the escape pod to turn them on, bringing some illumination from the cave. The pod flashlight-lamp he pulled out and saved for himself, setting it at a raised position a few meters directly forward from the exit of the escape pod.

Time to suit up. The flak vest was the first thing to come out and go on, zipping up tight. His gear went in pockets. Giant reloaded his pistol and placed it in its velcro compartment where he could reach for it later.

Then the tricky party--assembling the battle saddle. Giant took out all the pieces first and laid them out on the sand. Right harness trace, left harness trace, then bridle bar--lay out the bit and recoil dampers alongside it--he preassembled the barrel and firing chamber with the mouth of a cartridge and set that out in front.

The barrel was pointed towards the escape pod.

With a few turns of a wrench, the Kalashnikov came together as Giant began to assemble it onto and around his body. Like a knight of old who had to have their armor assembled around them, he thought randomly. Steel must be rubbing off on him.

"Nopony wander too far!" he yelled when he was far enough along that he was no longer working furiously, in panic of not finishing before something dangerous happened. "We don't know what's out there yet."

"Come, Ms. Ocean." He tried to sound reassuring to the liquescent lady. "Let's get you out of this metallic coffin of the deep and into open air. Well . . . as open as air can get some distance underground." He laughed as he gestured to the ladder. "Ladies first."

@,

Steel raised his eyebrow. "I take it you get this a lot." He observed. "I mean, your condition is noteworthy, but hardly the strangest thing that's happened in Equestria's history." He wasn't sure how she thought of his words, or if she was just not able to properly voice a response.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't remark so casually on something that's clearly had a hard impact on you." He reached into the bag and and gave her the notepad and pen. "Why don't we play a game?" He proposed. "You ask a question about me, I ask a question about you, and we go back and forth? I like to get to know the ponies I'm contracted to protect." Though that was his standard procedure, it also served as a convenient excuse to learn more about this wondrous mare he was charged with under a mask of professionalism.

Many ponies snuck glances at Ocean out of the corner of her eye. Steel would shoot them a death glare in response. Again, he was a bodyguard, he's supposed to be wary of those who may be a threat.

Still, were he in their position he would be sneaking glances of her too . . . . but for entirely different reasons. Ocean's liquidescent form gave her almost ethereal beauty. Indeed, Steel was actually finding it a challenge to pry his eye from her. Knowing full well that starring would be rude and doubly uncomfortable considering her circumstances.

"Why don't you start? Take your time writing, I've all . . . " He looked up at the ceiling, no sun or moon. ". . . the time in the world!" He compromised.

Every time the sargent or captain or whatever he was had tried to do anything to his eye, Dox had shoved his hoof away. But, while he wasn't doing that, he was staring at Moon and the injury she had gotten, and, even though he barely knew her, he was worried. Once it was somewhat healed, he was relieved. Finally, they docked in some underground cave. He was eager to get out.

Before Para was able to climb out though, Moon had stepped out of the water and made her entrance back into the pod, trying ever so carefully not to fall. But in a bit she had landed in and grabbed her saddlebag.

She noticed that the black and white pony was still on here, but the thing she eyed at most was his own injury on his face.

"You still haven't cleaned that up you know... It seems a bit bad to leave it like that, so you should go take a dip in the water to get it all nice and presentable."

It was the least she could say to Paradox before following him out of the pod again. This time though, she struggled off and waited in front for him to clean up whatever his injuries he had.

Meanwhile, another interest caught Moon Wave's eyes, as she saw that Giant started to build a robot. Though she couldn't smile too much since it would hurt her head, an inside one was presented while she watched the parts being put together.
