"Well..." Dox looked around at the noisy machinery, the smoke clouds, the bustle of the hard at work ponies. "To be honest, Feather, it's just too much for me. I'm used to the quiet life, right next to the Everfree. Sure, a rouge manticore might show once in a blue moon, but all in all, it's a lot more peaceful than this."

Frostbite wasn't too far away when she head Ocean shouting for help, and figured she may as well make herself somewhat useful other than just walking around admiring the scenery and making enemies - she trotted over to where Ocean was, seeing another pod and a pair of ponies already there - presumably the occupants, given the circumstances. "So uh...what's the problem?" she asked Ocean, looking at the mare on the ground.

(OOC: So, where's that doctor character when you need them, eh?)

@@Steel Accord,

Giant's eyes narrowed in confusion. Just again, right when he thought he knew a pony....

What should he tell him? Giant didn't hesitate for a second to forgive Steel Accord. Steel trusted to easily, he figured; there was no use faulting a 20-something colt for trusting what looked like a pretty mare. Wouldn't do. But there were other considerations...

The first thing he did was turn the safety back on. "Glad to hear you don't wanna' stick me," he chuckled darkly. "And don't mention it, Steel. And...stop treating me like your CO. I'm not much of a leader. Like I already said, that's not the promotion route I took."

"And about..." Oh, what about her? He wanted to tell Steel to at least be careful, but he was pretty sure he couldn't. He fancied he could see the colt's limbs start to tremble in righteous fury even as he started the sentence.

And he couldn't bring himself to do that for Steel's own good, selfish old fool as he was. So he shut himself up. He had no choice but to take a risk. "About well, nothin'. Nevermind."

He looked around Steel at Miss Wind for a second. So help me, if you hurt him...and I ain't talkin' about breakin' his heart...I won't rest until I find a way to kill you. And by Luna, you know it, too.

Ocean finished checking out the front of the truck when she heard another sub surface. She looked out of the truck and watched Nightfall climb out...and then, she noticed. "Cascade ? oh dear." She muttered, running over to the unconscious mare.

As she got closer she noticed that...Cascade was wet. She swore and looked around. "SOMEPONY HELP." She called, taking a few steps away from Cascade.

Steel sighed in relief. "Well, it's good to know I haven't completely . . ."

"SOMEPONY HELP."

Steel's wings sprung up like a cat's arched back.

"Gladwecouldhavethistalk!" Steel scooped up the strap of his scabbards in his mouth and darted away faster than a blink. He found Ocean panting and scared. Rolling, he slipped on one sword and landed next to her.

"What happened?! What's wrong?!"

Ocean gestured to Cascade. "Cascade's unconscious...and covered in water...I cant...She needs help." She said, blushing slightly. She felt rather embarrassed that she held screamed...and what made it worse was the fact that she couldn't touch Cascade.
Iron Hoof hadn't noticed Ocean yell, he was to busy unloading the last sub.

"Well im no medic, i'm just here to protect" Frostbite pondered a few words before she spoke again "Steel, would you be a dear and check for any infected cuts or anything? @The Pod Squad

Under all the commotion, Moon Wave hesitantly walked to the unconscious Cascade. She looked over her briefly just before sitting down and touching her neck with a hoof.

After a slight pause, she touched her own and sighed.

"Her pulse is weak.."

She continued to remain sitting and felt a few other parts around her head before making a conclusion.

"I would say that she is quite lucky to be alive now. To be honest its amazing that she didn't die on the ship..."

There was no other thing Moon could do now. The only chance they would have to take is just to wait and see what happens next. That speaking, she looked up and eyed Steel.

"If you find any cuts, then make sure to clean them up and patch them as best as you can. If it means forcefully taking off Paradox's eyepatch, then that's fine by me."

Nightfall turned back, after taking a look at the engine of the smoking vehicle. He noticed the group around Cascade, but he felt as if he hadn't done enough, even though he tried convincing himself that he had. He sighed and trotted back over to her. She was breathing, and still alive, but she was unconscious. He looked at the vehicle, then turned and sat down next to Cascade.

"That pony can deal with it if he sees the smoking vehicle... Well..."

He looked at the vehicle. He looked back at the mare, and then carefully and gently picked up Cascade. He slowly took her over by the engine, not saying a word to the others (@@Steel Accord@@@,). He sat her down carefully a little ways from the vehicle, but close enough that he could be there when she came to. He began working on the engine to fix it.

@@Steel Accord,

Ocean watched Nightfall pick Cascade up and bring her away. She frowned and was about to call him back over...considering they were about to patch Cascade up, but Steel spoke and Ocean turned to him instead. "No need to be sorry Steel. Just try to keep things under control next time. You're all good." She said.

Steel nodded as Ocean trotted away.

"Don't let it happen again." Was her message. With a metaphorical pat on the head. Steel took a deep breath, Ocean may well have truly forgiven him. In his heart of hearts, he knew that. Still he could not shake the feeling that he was substantially lesser in the unicorn's eyes now.

Steel was very consciously aware of his greatest flaw; emotional vulnerability. Not rashness, he was never impulsive no, but his heart ruled his being far more than any rationale. So Steel stood up straight, strapped both his weapons on, grabbed one of his training dummies, and walked to the faaaaaaar side of the camp where he would not be bothered.

Kicking it open, the familiar shape of the wooden equine with a sword in it's mouth greeted him. Steel drew both his swords.

"So Baron Woodsworth we . . . . ugh." Here it came, all the emotional build up of the past few hours. The Leviathan, the destruction of the ship, all the ponies that died, Giant's words; it all came rushing forth. He began to pace angrily trying to find something to blame. His fury was not at Ocean, of course not. Nor was it at the Master Sergeant however. No Steel was mad because of all the suffering Ocean had to endure at the hooves of ponies like Giant. It was prejudice that now filled Steel with fury.

He looked at the dummy. It was no longer the mustache twirling Baron of his jovial fantasies, but the physical manifestation of bigotry. Something so vile and blood curdling in it's mere existence, now given a form that could be killed.

"ARRRRRRGH!" Steel roared as he charged the dummy. He struck with both swords over and over, his blows vicious and unrelenting. The mannequin spun on it's swivel and Steel blocked the strike only to continue his onslaught. The wood began to chip at several point of what would be the vital areas of a living creature.

Steel struck hard with his right sword, the mannequin was sent spinning, on it's revolution Steel ducked under it's counter and cut high with his left sword. The decapitated head rolled away but Steel wasn't done yet. He let his momentum spin him all the way around and bucked hard with both hind legs, sending the dummy flying. Steel the completed his rotation and launched from the ground, intercepting it mid-air at the peak of it's arc.

SHIIING

Steel landed a good distance away. Followed by the two pieces of the now bisected mannequin splintering behind him.

Steel stood up from his fighting stance. Put a hoof to his chest, and breathed out as he pushed out with the hoof.

"Okay!" He declared. "Much better!"

Star Keeper couldn't help but observe as the stallion seemed to take out an incredible amount of rage on the poor innocent dummies. Actually it was quite entertaining, and a testament to his efficiency. In fact he was nearly struck by a piece of flying mannequin. While he had no proper experience in a fight he knew a good soldier when he saw one. But this guy seemed to be in quite a state, an emotional state meaning. It was rather curious.

"Nice work out there." He finally made his presence known, slipping his book back into his saddle bag. "Feeling better after that?"

Might I add that a Historian is very useful in this situation. We ARE looking for an ancient civilization after all. Tell me, do you beleive Atlantis was at all connected to the Crystal Empire? Feather felt herself start to grin as she listened to Dox's account of life in the Everfree;now here was a real adventurer!

Of course, the smile faded once Paradox started yelling at Moon Wave. Feather had assumed the stallion was sensitive about his patch because whatever lay beneath was too gruesome, and as such she had refrained from commenting on it, but now Feather was beginning to suspect that wasn't the case.

"What do you mean, "As a precaution"?" She asked so only "Paradox would be able to hear, trying to sound as non-accusing as possible.

In the midst of all the commotion, head banging, and yelling, Moon looked back toward Paradox when he yelled at her in a way. She didn't take it offensive though but at the same time she wasn't kidding around.

Before Moon had a chance to speak though, something weird happened with the black and white stallion as he started to walk off and sit sadly next to the water's edge.

"Ugh.. Not again."

"Aw jeez..." Feather frowned as she watched Paradox walk away, wincing when she saw that the stallion was actually crying. She trotted over to sit beside him by the pool, and cleared her throat.

"Uh, Dox?" Feather took her hat off, holding it in one hoof. The other hung awkwardly in the air, unsure if she should lay it on the stallion's back or something - would he appreciate that, or take it as condescension?

"Um.." She began rather lamely, then stopped, stuck already. Feather felt eyes on her and, to her relief, saw Moon Wave watching them rather anxiously. Moon and Paradox were roommates, and they seemed to get along pretty well from what Feather had seen; with any luck she would know what to do; the right things to say. @@Dawn Stripes,

Cascade had been carried away, and the ponies around her seemed...content with her care as they busied themselves elsewhere or otherwise. Frostbite figured she could be of more use elsewhere - before she remembered something that happened not long back.

After she got into the escape pod with Giant, she said something to him to try and steady his nerves, then he freaked out...what was that about? She wandered around as she thought over and over what it could have been - the most obvious answer was the water, but that couldn't be it...could it? He didn't act like that on the stairs after all...she had to find out.

Looking around to make sure he wasn't too busy anymore, after he had finished constructing his saddle and chatting with the other security on the expedition, she made her way over to him and called out for him as she approached. "How's it going captain? Staying high and dry?"
