Goldre yelling to the herself only made things more confusing for him as he heard someone over a mega phone. Silver sighed a bit out of disappointment as the Goldre clones vanished as fast as they came. However this wasn't all Silver had questions about.

"Uhh what was that all about?" Silver Storm asked her. "One moment there's 3 more of you then the next you're talking to some dude I'm the audience.

@@,

Completing one lap around the arena he paused his stamping legs.  He was feeling uneasy, 'I don't like being in a place of death like this.  Where the hay is Swordpoint, I think I saw him taking to that organizer pony maybe he won't show up.'  'I relish this place it feeds me with cruelty   He better show his face so we may rip it off.' 'By Celestia don't you ever shut up!? And since when were we a we?  Whatever Buck it.'

He shouted at the crowd, "Looks like my opponent is too scared to face me!  I hope the other entries should be so smart!" That should get them going.  'You believe anyone will eat up that horseshit?  A skinny little nothing like you?' 'Not listening. They will get more wild no matter what I say maybe if they get stirred up enough the organizers will call him forfeit earlier.'  'With his lady friend at risk? He will show and we will break him.'

"Stop with the we!  It's fucking with my head..." He stop realizing he had spoke aloud... and quickly drew the attention away from the outburst.

"Now I will warm up my magic so I can be prepared to win outright!"  He lit up his horn holding his head high and resumed his silly heavy hoof trot, trying to look as intimidating as possible his horseshoe thumping into the ground marking his path around. He cut in a little bit further from the arena's edge to make this round shorter then his last lap. 'If I keep this up I'll be a little past warmed up when he gets here...'

"That's one of my original creators! He knows more than me about...well, me! Anywho, quit stalling!" Goldre yelled.

"IF YOU LOSE, WE'RE TAKING YOU BACK, DEAD OR ALIVE!" the scientist yelled through the megaphone. Goldre paled.

"Ima... I gotta... You will never catch me!" she yelled back.

"Ah.." Silver said under his breathe. He was getting a vague understanding about what was going on. Was this scientist forcing her to do things against her own will?

"Hey, Goldre! Don't you worry about that old dotard." Silver told her in reassurance. "If you do lose I'll protect you from him." Silver said unaware of what he was getting into. He didn't care either because nobody as sweet as her should be forced into doing things like this against her own will.

"Let's just focus on our fight shall we?"

@@TheBreech,

Dreams heard the whirring of blades, but that was useless. He was standing perfectly still! And the voices mad it easy for her to determined his location.

The ground below Cosmo cracked, and up came a dirty looking Bad Dreams right under Cosmo, using her mechanical claws to shoot both of them up in the air. Part of her mask was ripped apart, and she used her claws to keep Cosmo held up win the air by putting his throat in between the gap between the claws. She settled them in the middle of the whirring blades, and grinned.

"Oy, looks like this is checkmate." Dreams told Cosmo. "Sure you don't want to give up? I don't want to kill you."

Cosmo was silent for a few moments. After a few seconds the blade around them stopped and Cosmo slowly began clapping. "Checkmate indeed my dear..." he said softly. Without warning he teleported across the ring, restraining Dreams' claws with telekinesis to prevent her from attacking. Across the ring he called out to her loudly, "Checkmate Indeed!" As he shouted those words, the blades all shot straight toward the spot where Dreams was standing, her claws still griped by Cosmo's magic. "Ditch the claws or lose the fight, either way, I'm not going down Dreams..." Cosmo thought, intent on his opponent and any possible reactions she might make. Edited by TheBreech

Goldre nodded.

"Right. This crowd came for entertainment! Who wants to habe fun?" Goldre asked nervously. "Who wants violence?"

The crowd roared in approval.

"Well, too bad! Go watch the other fight for that!" Goldre shouted. "This one's about tactics!"

Goldre shook off her sunglasses. They clattered to the floor. Goldre rubbed her eyes for a second, then suddenly glared up at Silver. Her golden eyes caught him off guard. His eyes wouldn't leave hers. A strange force held them. Goldre's image vibrated, but her eyes stayed unfazed. They seemed to peer into his soul. The world shook profusely, but her eyes appeared constant.

"Hush, now. Quiet now," Goldre chanted. It was as if 6 different voices were speaking, half if which were horribly off key. Silver felt woozy. His vision blurred, but something struck Goldre in the side of the head and everything returned to normal. Goldre plummeted to the ground. A loud snap issued and Goldre gasped for breath.

"My..." *gasp* "bad..." *gasp* "WING!" Goldre exclaimed. She was definitely grounded. She steaded herself.

"WHO THREW THAT?" Goldre yelled into the crowd.

Silence.

@, Standoff was lucky he'd gone out for some fresh air and to observe tactics. He'd been a couple rows behind the tosser, and used a startled mare as a springboard to tackle him. He picked him up and turned them toward him. "Suppose you've got money on this fight? Well, I already know the whole systems corrupt, but I fix what I can. And here you are! Isn't that convenient?" Standoff hauled off and punched the stallion in the mouth.

Silver Storm came to his senses as he snapped back into reality.

"Argh what the heck was that?!" He huffed putting a fore leg to his head. For a second it's like she had a mental grip over him. Luckily someone intervened or else it would've been over for him.

Silver Storm then looked at Goldre again and smirked. "Alright.... now it's my turn." Silver said taking off to the sky quickly.

While in mid air Silver Storm started to motion his fore legs in a windmill like fashion. Each time they completed a rotation they got faster and faster until the wind started to become more violent around them.

Silver Storm smiled as two hurricane force like winds surrounded his forelegs each of them both looked silvery white. He then peered down to Goldre . "ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?" Silver Storm yelled out as the winds around him were making so much noise it drowned out his normal speaking voice.

He then flew straight towards Goldre who was still earthbound. "Lets see you dodge this." Silver muttered.

He then extended his left hoof at Goldrr while going at a high velocity.

"TORNADO HOOF!" Silver shouted as he reached Goldre.

Swordpoint glanced at the monitor showing his opponent. Rune Breaker waited in the arena, grinning confidently. ”I should have guessed...”

Swordpoint walked through the passage to his arena, not rushing at all. The tunnel to the arena seemed so long, but his mind was too busy to consider it. The entire tournament felt rigged, as if someone were pulling a lot of strings behind the scenes. Undaunted, he emerged into the arena to a mix of cheers and boos.

As he took his place in the ring, he stared at Rune Breaker. ”It seems that they have taken notice of us. If I can avoid it, I will not kill you.” He raised his lance and spread his wings wide.

Rune Breaker stopped his circling warm up but kept his horn glowing and trotted towards Swordpoint.  "Of course and I'll do the same.  Just remember what I said earlier, if it comes to it be prepared.  I won't hold back.  I've got my own demon to beat, so I can't lose here.  But let us consider each other brothers from now on and never forget should the worst come to pass."

'Kill him! Use your horn! Drive it into his throat! His blood will flow, there is nothing like fresh blood running across the hide!'

Rune tried to put on a brave face, he had never been a fighter.  The most he had ever done was controlled semi-friendly locker room brawls after hoofball and in that it had always been about trying to earn respect from the stronger Stallions.  He had always lost, but the always told him that he was a tough scraper after and treated him a little better.  This had to be different he had to win and then tell Swordpoint that he had fought well.  He had to be the stronger stallion.

Rune put out his hoof to Swordpoint for a shake. "I understand we both can't stand to lose here but we both can't win here either.  I will have no regrets losing to a Stallion like yourself. May Clestia smile upon the winner and give blessings of strength fortitude to the loser."

'The loser will simply suffer.  The winner will also.  So is the fate of the weak and the kind.  Ruthless strength and hard heart is the only true way to live.  Your princesses will not guide your light in the afterlife or ever bless a worm like you with more than a glance.'

Knightfall was right in someways, even the monster that he was.  Rune didn't believe in the Princesses strengths, he had never believed nor understood the semi-religion of the Princesses.  If there were gods out there then they were far more aloof then the Princesses and far crueler.  This fight between two goodhearted ponies with terrible burdens was evidence enough of that.

Swordpoint shook Rune Breaker's hoof respectfully. He then nodded to Rune Breaker and stepped backward, extending his wings and engulfing himself in a white glow. The light materialized into white armor adorned with the symbol of Celestia. The crowd erupted into violent hissing accompanied by shouts of "Dirty traitor!"

Swordpoint ignored the crowd. Lowlife Ponynesians. I should have expected no less. I must choose my words carefully... they are surely Omnia's eyes and ears.

He stood still and waited for the announcer's signal.

(Try to avoid godmodding. She will pick if she tries to dodge the attack, not you.)

"I can't say I've seen anything like this before!" Topaz said. "Silver Storm seems to have created a miniature Tornado around his leg! Goldre had better avoid a direct hit from that!"

"Okay, Fighters, You may begin!" The ref echoed.

Rune Breaker released the magic around his horn in a pale yellow pulse, the waves of which spread out washing of the entire arena.  The hoof tracks that he had made around the in area in his warm up, picking up a barely noticeable glow as the waves passed.

"That is very impressive, preforming magic without a horn.  I barely manage with my broken one, how do you do that?"  Rune tensed himself ready to dodge anyway he may need.  'Stop with your damnable curiosity and attack him! You'd give him the chance to make the first move?'

Standoff had gone back to the lobby after teaching the tosser a lesson and noticed that most of the remaining contestants were gone. Taking the opportunity, he started talking tactics with Red. Okay, we're against Lite Shade. From what I saw, if those tentacley things get you, it's curtains. Any ideas? I think if she dies, the shadows go with her. I also saw that when she's using the shadows, she can't really do anything else, it's all she's focusing on. Doesn't seem too physically powerful either. So, I think we should let the tentacles get us, and then craterize her with the GL? Assuming she's not fast enough to rebound or stop it. It's a gamble... So was entering. Don't worry, remember the reason I decided to vaporize my physical essence? You're not the only pony's head I can get in. Only one I can control, though. I'll confuse, you diffuse. Alright.

"Talking to yourself?" Rail asked as he finished lighting another cigarette. "You musn't act as if information will aid you. Not knowing what will happen is what makes gambling so fun. I only wish my colleagues understood this, they think like you: Go over everything in your head and you will know the outcome. Keep ones eye's shut or open one's eyes wide, either way, one's a fool."

Swordpoint examined the lightly glowing areas on the ground. Traps. But so noticeable... Perhaps I should stay airborne.

"Through extensive training," he replied curtly. "All ponies are capable of magic, but the unicorns have the simplest medium to use for its conjuration. Pegasi are able to use their wings because they already contain magic, although it requires years of rigorous training. Earth ponies have an even slimmer chance, as they are not magical by nature." His eyes never left the blue stallion. "I cast my first spell only several years ago, so I have not yet mastered the arts of magic."

Swordpoint jumped and began to float a few feet above the ring. "By the way, your rune traps are terribly easy to spot. They pulse with energy. Perhaps to an untrained eye, they would be effective, but I am far too clever for that. Unless you can cast them in midair, I'm afraid that they will not help you." He held his lance at the ready, the tip pointed at Rune Breaker, who stood on the other side of the arena.

"Yes!" Rune Breaker couldn't help but laugh aloud. "Finally a pony that actually knows some ancient pony history! You could even identify them as runes! Ah. I knew I liked you." He stood there grinning. His horn had flared up and was now shooting little bolts of magic wildly around the arena, he wince from the strain of it.

He realized this is a fight but couldn't help himself from continuing, "You got something wrong though. Unicorns have the most complex medium for magic and earth ponies have the simplest. All magic comes from the world around us and enters us and builds up there. We are all just like big magic sponges." He was yelling his words not just to Swordpoint but to the entire crowd as he walked casually forward, his horn still flinging bolts in different directions.

"So If earth pony are the simplest medium do you know why they they can't use magic?" He paused waiting to see how Swordpoints may reply.

Goldre watched in awe at this stallion's tactic. Unfortunately, he and her were in same class of pegasus fighting: pegasi wind tricks.

She saw that if she moved, she'd get tossed far. If she didn't, she'd get directly hit.

"Sure, take advantage of her when she can't fly!" she yelled as he approached. "Well, watch this!"

Silver was not very close, but not too far away. Goldre sucked in her breath and help it for a moment. Her wing healed, but the blue stripe in her tail vanished.

"Crap," Goldre muttered. Silver was a few feet away, now. Goldre counter-attacked. She whipped up two wing tornadoes, sending them at Silver and disspelling all the tornadoes in play.

"You cost me a Stripe!" Goldre shook her hoof at the tosser of the strange object in the audience.

Swordpoint was confused. Rune Breaker seemed to be stalling for time. In truth, he didn't want to strike first. The rune traps littering the arena were just too much of a risk if he was knocked from the sky, and he needed a way to dispel them first.

"But of course. It's important to know the history of such an unpredictable world." He casually floated toward Rune Breaker, closing some of the distance between them.

"Hm. Perhaps our archives are wrong. If it is not because they lack a medium for channeling the magic, then I do not know why they are unable to use it." Swordpoint decided to delay the battle if he could, considering the ancient knowledge that Rune Breaker could have. His knowledge could be put to use for us in Equestria... To help us keep the land safe. I should at least discover what he knows.

"What the buck is this crap? I wanna see somepony get bucking stabbed!" came a shout from the audience. Swordpoint ignored it.

Rune Breaker's focus yanked to the side, one of the couple bolts streaking from his horn shot out striking the audience pony that had shouted. Rune screamed at him, "don't you dare interrupt me when I'm talk about my life's research!" A pulse wave surged out and when it reach the pony he suddenly slammed to the floor.

Knightfall whispered in his head, 'yessss, let it out they are nothing but ignorant motesss of dussst.'

Rune whipped his head back to look at Swordpoint, his eye normal golden yellow now orange, pupils becoming ovals. His voice had a new harshness to it, "they conduct it too well. The magic just flows out of their entire body but that is what let them become so strong and large so easily. Pegasus wings and bones conducts their magic, makes them fast and light added lift and maneuverability. You can cast because a dam of inner magic that still gets trapped. Unicorns conduct through their horn, magic comes in and then out the horn like a hose nozzle."

Rune turned sharply to his right but stay ready in case Swordpoint may try anything, he thought of a timber wolf trying to flank it's prey. "It's so concentrated that focus and manipulation of inner magic comes easy. But they lose touch with the magic around them to the noise of the magic inside. Earth ponies and Pegasus don't, some claim that the ground whispers things to them. Fertile ground here, strong winds there, a rouge storm is coming, and so on. Have you ever heard it? You have a lot of magic potential in you so maybe not. But that is the world's magic. And the art of reading, focusing and controlling it that the earth ponies invented but abandoned as unholy?! That is runic magic!"

Swordpoint was unsure of how to approach. He's definitely dangerous with his horn still throwing runes everywhere... and the other one is coming. I cannot wait any longer, for that dragon surely will not hesitate. I'm sorry for this, Rune...

"So... the body of the pony itself is the conductor for the magic... but with pegasi, it focuses in our wings. Unicorns have it focus in their horns. I can understand that..."

Swordpoint recalled the texts on runic magic and their entirely contradictory information they held. "It seems much of history has been lost. And yet here you stand, using the magic of the ancient ponies. What could I say in response? I have no choice but to believe you."

Swordpoint watched Rune trying to flank him. He could see the eyes of the "other" one, searching him for weaknesses and openings. I suppose I should start now... before that one takes over.

Swordpoint noticed that Rune was stepping harmlessly on the runes which he had placed. An idea came to him, and he immediately charged up a spell and released it in a blast of magical energy aimed directly at the trap nearest to Rune Breaker.

Say, Standoff. That pony there with the out-of-control horn sort of reminds me of us. Except whatever the hell THAT one's got in its head is worse than I'll ever get. Probably. Well, I've already figured out a plan of action for him. You see those little flashing things on the ground? I bet they explode.

She shot a magic bolt at the chainsaw while exciting the ground under his feet and turning it into a liquid. She brought her hoof up to punch him. If I can draw blood, the roars and thoughts of the crowd will overwhelm him. She jumped back after either hitting or missing to dodge a counter attack.

The punch hit him straight in the face. "You know, I can hear you're thoughts." Unfortunately, he knew that even in knowing this plan, he probably couldn't stop it from happening. It would take a lot of concentration, anyway. He used some basic teleportation magic, which could only teleport him about two metres, then swung for another kick.
