gaming Favorite Metroid game

There's already a thread for favorite Zelda games, why not for Metroid games?

I know it's really unoriginal, but I think Super Metroid is my favorite game in the series, at least of the ones I've played. But the first 2 have better soundtracks in my opinion.

What's your's?

(I figured a thread like this had already been created, but I couldn't find anything.)

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It's just like, a perfect game to me, so fun and challenging, plus the upgrades are the coolest in the series imo(Anihilator Beam, Light Suit, 3D Screw Attack). Many may hold Prime 1 in higher regard, but I believe Prime 2 is better personally. I have yet to play Super Metroid though, I hope they release it on 3DS VC sometime... :/

Super Metroid is, in my opinion, the best game on the SNES and possibly the best 2D platformer I've ever played, alongside Castlevania:Symphony of the Night.  The graphics are amazing for SNES, and I felt tlike this is where they perfected the nonlinear Metroid "system," where you walk around, get upgrades, unlock new areas, etc.

Metroid Prime Hunters has to be my favourite, not so much because of the gameplay, but how much fun my friends and I had glitching the crap out of it. The online maps were so exploitable and blasting yourself through a wall with trace and then abusing the imperialist was pretty funny. (note, I never abused this stuff in random mode because that's just being a jerk.)

There was another glitch with Sylux where you could spam his bomb to make your way around a map that you weren't supposed to go. This made it so all the terrain became invisible and the other guys couldn't see you for some odd reason...

I also really enjoyed the online battle mode and that was the primary reason I bought the game. It really was a lot of fun and there was quite a bit of creativity and ballencing that went into that part. Every character was viable, there really wasn't a "weakest" gun (ok, BESIDES the Battlehammer) and the stages were all very unique. And sure, while the maps were glitchy as heck, they were still a lot of fun to play in legitimately.

Prime 3. I'm quite a fan of the "point and shoot" mechanic that the Wii allowed, and I feel that Prime 3 is an example of what made the mechanic so good. I also liked several of the bosses in the game (especially Helios and Gandrayda). Granted, the final one was kinda anticlimactic, but it was definitely challenging.

Not to mention, it has one of my personal favorite "feels" moments in all of gaming:

And we can't forget about a particularly challenging enemy, brought to its knees by a single shot, the Metroid Hatcher. Gotta love the X-visor-nova-beam combo. So empowering. img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

For me It has to be Metroid Fusion, It's one of the best games on the Gameboy Advance and It has some of the best moments in the Metetroid series.
