"Hmmm...What could his pet name be..." She thought about this, wondering what she could call him, since he was calling her such flattering names.

"I...cant think of anything. Wow. Dusty just suits him so well, that I cant think of any variation. Good ol' Dusty...Duuuustyyyyy..."

"Hey, I never asked, but what's your last name?" She asked out of mild curiosity. He knew her last name because of the signature she had on her art, but she didn't know what her last name was. That was something couples knew about each other right?

"Maybe this party here will make his edges more smooth again. He probably just needs somemore fun times like what we're having!" Night Song suggested. "But I agree, it is kind of sad..." she added sorrowfully. Suddenly brightening up, she said,"Well, let's just find the oven or whatever, all right?"

 

"That sounds fine to me. Best place already to check is in the kitchen. Though... I've been outside for most of the time. I haven't gotten a large chance to go inside, so I have no absolute clue on where it is. Rambler, could you possibly show us the way to the kitchen?"

Dusty had been looking around for wheat, flour and something similar; anything you could make dough out of.

 

He then heard Crystal's question and blushed "Oh right, I'm such a dummy! How could i have forgotten to tell my love my full name" he felt a little embarrased. Of course, one of the most important thing, that a couple needed to know of each other, was their full names, so Dusty happily answered

 

"Hoofprint. My full name is Dusty Hoofprint. I guess it kind of fits a stallion, who has got the travel bug." he said cheerfully.

Rambler shook his head. "Sorry, but I was only inside for a few minutes. I couldn't tell you where the kitchen is. I guess we should probably find Apollo and ask him. Unless Night Song knows how to get there. She was inside longer than I was." He turned to the mare in question. "Do you know how to get to the kitchen?"

"That is a very nice name." She said kindly. She knew now that she was not going to be able to find a good nickname for him.

"Your name suits you so well I cant think of a pet name to do you justice." Her eyes widened at that point.

"Did...did I say that out loud?" She asked sheepishly.

Dusty blushed at her kind words. "Thank you for the compliment."

 

She said that his name was so befitting to him, that's she couldn't find a pet name for him.

 

He then then walked over to Crystal and kissed her softly. "You can call me whatever your heart desires, my love." he said gently.

"I will be happy with any name you give me." He stroked through her soft and shiny green mane.

Crystal was relieved that he took it well. And when he kissed her, her heart melted. His kind words helped too.

"You are so corny and sweet Celestia I love it." She said, kissing him passionately. She felt like she had the best luck to find a colt like Dusty to be with. He was everything she wanted and more.

Dusty closed his eyes when she respond to his kiss with her own kiss. Getting kissed by this wonderful mare, being with her, feeling her love and loving her the same way..., all of this felt like pure bliss to him. Dusty had only heard of angels in story books and fairytales, but if there really were angels in Equestria, she was definately one of them.

 

He chuckled at her remark about him being corny. He regretted the fact, that they would have to postpone their sharing of affections for now, since they still had to bake the apple pies.

Crystal broke the kiss, and hugged Dusty tightly before stepping back.

"Right, I should...finish the apples. And I suppose you need to get the dough going." She said, slightly disappointed. She didn't want that moment to end. But they had work to do. But she made a mental note to pick it up when they got back to the barracks. Gives her a reason to get this job done. She started to cut that apples with her TK spell again.

After they had finished their gently hug, they had to get back to work. Longing for more, Dusty wanted to finish this task eagerly, so they could spend more quality time with each other. "I'll look for ingredients, so we can get started." he said smiling.

 

Dusty looked around for ingredients, which were needed for dough. He eventually came across a bag of flour. "Ah, here's the flour. Well that's one thing..." he thought. He knew he needed water aswell to be able to form a dough out of the flour. He ran across to what seemed to be the water supply and fetch a few liters of water. He then brought the ingredients back over to the pit.

 

"All right, let's see..." he thought while looking the cooking bench, a little unsure on how to get started. "I think i just do it how my mother used to..." he remembered, when his mother sometimes made her delicious apple-cherry pie, his absolute favorite.

 

"Too bad this isn't an apple AND cherry orchard." he chuckled..

Soon enough, and just as Dusty had returned to the pit with the necessary ingredients, she had finished the slices, placing them in the basket. She kept one, and was nibbling at it as she saw her coltfriend return. She remembered learning something about pie in school, but that was 3 years ago, so she barely remembers it. Still, she couldn't let her lover do this alone.

"Anything I can do to help now?" She asked.

Dusty saw, that Crsytal haf finished cutting up the apples. The basket was now full of slices. She sat besides it and waited for him.

 

He approached and heard her question. "Well, we could both start mixing the water and flour and knead it into a dough together, darling." 

 

He took a few bowls and filled them with flour, he then turned to Crystal "You gradually fill water into the bowl, while i keep on kneading the flour-water mix until it cecomes dough." he said smiling.

Crystal nodded, and began to lift the water container in place in a red aura. She slowly began to pour it in. TK works like actual lifting, in the sense that a pony can only carry a certain amount of weight before the spell fails them. Picking up heavier objects puts a strain on the unicorn, and brings magic fatigue faster. The weight limit varies between ponies. Crystal, having a near mastery of TK, can handle a substantial amount of weight, more so than the average pony. Maybe not as much a adept magic user, like Celestia or Twilight, but pretty close. This large bucket of water, for example, is like lifting a feather for her, so she must take extra precaution to avoid spilling it.

Dusty started kneading the flour into the water, that Crystal slow and constantly added into the bowls. She lifted the heavy water container with ease and handling it very care- and skillfully.

 

Soon enough, the flour started to mix into the water and formed a dough. Dusty kneaded it into different shapes, thicknesses and sizes, to make sure the dough would be stable, but soft enough to eat. After a short while of watering, mixing and kneading, a suitable mass of dough lay on the cooking platform. "Okay, i guess now we need the apples" he said cheerfully.

As they finished, and the dough was laid out in tins (Which we totally had this whole time >.>) Crystal brought the apples to fill in the dough. They filled it in a neat order, and soon enough, three trays were full. There was not enough apple slices to fill another tray, so she put them back in the basket for later.

"Now we need to cover them with the remaining dough and bake them." She said cheerfully.

"And then we get some time together." An afterthought arose.

Before Apollo could approach the mare again he heard a voice. He turned around with a twitch in his right eye and looked at the pony.

He took a deep breath and cracked the joints in his neck.

"You see that brick fire pit over yonder. That is where you are going to cook the apples." He said as he pointed to the fire pit next to his house, with a smile on his face.

During their time picking apples, Fire had gone back to the room to grab her hat when she found a note on the bed.
After reading it she went back to Flame to inform him of the new's. A few errors had been made and they were both called back to the cirque.
Feeling quite disappointed they said their goodbye's before leaving back to Canterlot.

(BIIIIIIIG POST INBOUND)

 

Nexus sent his close friend Crystal on her way to the vacation on a old guards homestead, and sat around for a while, with nothing to do. He had a thought then, and went to go pack.

"Who says she is the only one to go? This could be my chance to get out there more." Nexus wasn't the shy type like Crystal, and in fact, was quite confident in himself-despite his past-but he never really hung out with anypony other than Crystal and Max. Sometimes Star, but not enough to warrant anything beyond acquaintance  He still didn't have a special somepony in his life, and being in his 30s, he is running out of time. Nexus was a bat pony, standing about as tall as Max Allen, who stands almost as tall as Luna. He wore a green tinted chestplate from the armor the Guards from his clan wore. He wore on the lower part of his legs silver bands with green jewels on them, while wearing green cloth bands on his upper legs. He remembered seeing his father where similar attire, and wore it as a sort of remembrance. He had no idea if he was dead or not, but wore the gear all the same. He wasn't extremely muscular, but he did have some muscle on him. The gear wasn't that heavy to him. He has been wearing it for years. He only brought with him his first aid kit, and a few medicinal potions. Courtesy of Max. He made sure they were all red though. No incidents this time. Nexus took to the sky and headed to the farm. 

 

4 HOURS LATER

 

Nexus landed on the farm, more worn than he would of liked. He hadn't flown that long or far since the Changeling Incident. He looked around, trying to see if he could spot anypony that looked to be in charge. Or Crystal. He wondered if she found a special somepony. He shook it off, thinking that she was too shy and that would have been quick even for Max. He looked around until he ran into a stallion standing by a group.

"Excuse me. Is this your farm? I got an invite here." He said, holding out the invite with his wing.

Rambler nodded. "Alright, well I'm going to get the other two and we'll start cooking, then." He turned and trotted away back towards the others perhaps a bit faster than he needed to. That smile on Apollo's face was a bit unnerving.

Apollo leered at Rambler as he trotted away. He then turned his attention to a new arrival. Apollo looks at the dark blue pony holding an invite.

"You are late. No matter, you must be tired. There are newly vacant rooms in the barracks...FOR CELESTIA'S SAKE! I mean the housing structure."

Apollo was getting angry with himself. That was the last time he wanted to refer to the housing structure as the barracks. He couldn't help it though, the word was integrated with his everyday vocabulary.

"Oh, before i forget. What is your name?"

Nexus was taken back by his anger. He seemed upset about his use of military terms.

"Oh, my name is Nexus. Pleasure to meet you." He said kindly. He seemed...troubled. Naturally, the bat pony has no reserves about indulging his curiosity.

"By any chance, were you in the Royal Guard? You seem like the type." He thought for a second, feeling like that was rude to say.

"What I mean is that my father was a Guard for our clan, so I grew up around Guards. You seem like the kind of pony he would of worked with." He glanced over at the barracks. He would have to get a room, but he didn't need to unpack. All he brought was the armor on his back...and the bands on his legs.

Apollo smiled a little as he heard the Stallions words.

"At ease. I am in the guards...active actually. General Apollo is what i go by. Your father seems like a respectable guy." Apollo looked over Nexus once more. His mind was all over the place at the moment.

"Is that his armor or are you in the guards as well?"

It was rare that Nexus got to converse with a Guard. He was never given opportunity back home. He enjoyed the chance.

"He was. He served as a sentry for the armory. It was the dullest job imaginable, as he described it." He looked down at his chest plate. It bore the logo for the night guard on the center, and was actually a sturdy, well made piece of armor. It was made green a few years back by a magic accident with Crystal a few years back. He kind of liked it green. Matched his other apparel.

"No, I am not in the guard. This was worn by my father. It is all I have left of him. My clan was attacked by changelings when I was a teenager...and I think I was the only one who made it out. No idea what happened to the others." He said with a frown. He hardly considered that a secret, but it did hurt to remember. Changelings aren't known to be merciful. But he figured a Guard would understand situations like that.

"Tending to the wounded was how I got my cutie mark." He added, lifting hid bat wing up to reveal it.
