What characters came close to death

I know it's a kids show. But little girls aren't stupid. Hell I am not 2 years old and you can't talk down to me. Any character can die in the show. The writers just don't allow death. Here are some characters that came close to dying 

 

Rarity: When she was falling several thousand feet, then Rainbow saved her. Then again...could she have survived that fall? After all this is a cartoon? But Rarity says "you saved my life" so that implies death in the show

 

Cadence/Twilight 

 

I will let this video explain what COULD have happened if Cadence didn't sing "sunshine sunshine"

Cadence dies and Twilight would have starved to death

This. There's been so many attacks, that, if this were realistic most/all of the cast would be all dead. If not, there would be much scarring, physically or emotionally...

Well, I disagree with the notion that realistically they would be dead, since they have been saved multiple times. Realistically, there would not be giant crazy monsters and villains to threaten everypony, but this is Equestria, motherbuckers.

 

Most of the villains' main goals weren't widespread death anyway, but enslavement, power, and control. A few monsters, such as the Manticore, Hydra, Ursa Minor, Cockatrice, and others, obviously weren't above devouring or murdering ponies. So I suppose the run-ins with those monsters were all close calls. There's also been a few other moments, such as Rarity falling in "Sonic Rainboom" and all of the Mane Six except for Rainbow Dash falling in "Wonderbolts Academy" where ponies were close to death. There's much more, but the list would be long, and I want to save other moments for other posters to mention.

Hmm, seems like an amazing feeling to save a pony's life. I'm trying to imagine how Rainbow Dash felt after saving the lives of Rarity and the Wonderbolts. Sorry to digress, but dang it must feel good.

Well, I'm sure it'd be an amazing feeling to save someone's life period, pony or non-pony. Rainbow's an exception though; let's face it, she's so awesome, saving lives is like breathing for her. It just comes naturally.

I think each character has come close to death, but those are elements of the show I try to avoid thinking about... I don't associate death with MLP:FIM.

There were a lot of characters that were close to death, but in a split second they were saved. Death can come in an instant even on a TV show but, there will always be someone saved in 10 seconds flat.

But as far as showing the "possibility" of death, that they can do and have done several times which has been pointed out already.

 

If they were real then the laws of life and death would apply to them as well.

 

But what I find more fascinating is that they do survive. And in case anyone hasn't noticed, Equestria is a very hostial place to live. And given the fact that ponies are a prey species gives them that much more credit to the idea that only the strong survive.
