I haven't written one of these for a while, so I might be tad rusty.

As the title says, this is going to be crossover with the anime Fairy Tail. If you haven't seen it, I pity the life you've wasted. That said, I suppose you can join without having seen it if you want. The RP is going to start with the Grand Magic Games, the annual tournament held in the capital to determine the strongest wizard guild. After that, the RP will focus on hanging around the guild hall and doing jobs. Eventually you may have the opportunity to be promoted to S-Class. Ideally, if the RP lasts long enough, the players will return to the Grand Magic Games, either to defend their title or to work their way to the top, depending on what happened the first time. Frankly, I've cobbled this together pretty quickly, so I don't have much more detail than that at the moment, but I'll try and update as my plans develop. In that regard, suggestions are welcome.

Rules:

• I'm not going to waste time reciting all the rules that apply to the RP world as a whole. If you don't know them by now, go read them. All of those rules are a given.
• As DM, my word is law. I welcome suggestions, and you may dispute my decisions, but in the end, you have to respect my authority. I'll do my best to be a kind and benevolent dictator, of course, but I caution you not to push me too far. I pride myself on patience, but even I have my limits.
• I reserve the right to reject a character without providing any reason for doing so. I don't like doing this, but I have my reasons for it.
• Generally my rule is no alicorns, but I can be persuaded to make exceptions. If you really want to play an alicorn, you can apply with one, but don't get your hopes up. Of course, if I reject a character on the basis that they're an alicorn, you are welcome- and encouraged- to submit another character.
• Please do your best to use proper spelling and grammar. I can excuse occasional errors of course, but if it becomes excessive it can make posts difficult to understand.
• I will be using a dice-based system of some sort to determine the results of actions in combat and possibly in other important situations. More on that when I figure out how I want to do it.

More rules may be added later.

As of right now, I'm not sure how many people I'm going to accept. I'm planning on five to start with, and if there's enough interest, I'll bump it up. Ideally the number will be a multiple of five, since the Grand Magic Games use teams of five. Granted, ten players is probably a stretch, and I don't see fifteen happening at all, so I might have to fill in the rest with NPCs.

When you sign up, include the type of magic your character uses, basic background information, race, and gender. Pretty much all of this could be covered by posting a link to your character's page in the database.

I'd rather not have more than one person using the same type of magic, but since I'm not planning on including canon characters, you can use any kind of magic from the show (as long as it's not too overpowered). Of course, creativity is encouraged in this regard, and I would prefer you come up with your own kind of magic, or at least change it somewhat. For example, you can be a celestial wizard, but try to use different spirits than the ones you usually see on the show.

I'm on the fence about including dragon slayers at all, but I'll accept them if they don't seem too overpowered. If you want to sign up with as a dragon slayer, include what generation of dragon slayer you are, and, if applicable, the name of the dragon that taught you.

I think that just about covers everything. Sorry about the wall of text.

Background information: A role very similar to Mira's in the guild, and from Onibus. Orphaned at a young age grew up on the streets and one day wandered into the guild. Has burns from when she was attacked by a fire magic user before her weapons magic was discovered.

 

Race: Alicorn

 

Gender: Female

Very good. You are, of course, accepted, and probably the only alicorn that will be. Keep in mind that although you have the ability to requip, you don't necessarily have as wide a variety of weapons as Erza does. At any rate, you should start thinking about what kind of weapons you might have in your arsenal.

I was thinking something like Purgatory Armor, Flame Empress Armor, and Soaring Armor. Although I would mostly use Purgatory Armor.

oh sorry about that. He's technecally only 24, but he was sealed away for 1000 years. Sorry for the confusion. Just say he's 24, okay? Pseudo natsu, away!

Accepted, although I'm not too sure about how a changeling character will work out. At any rate, try not to abuse your shapeshifting, since it isn't connected to your form of magic.

doesn't really matter to me. I'll start now if everyone wants to, but I'll be just as happy waiting. Its your rp after all, you could just tell eveyone to wait. But it does sound awsome, I want it to be good, so you can take your time.

Due to the nature of his magic, he rarely shows negative effects from the alcohol he drinks, unless his magic power is exhausted. Has a tremendous lust for life, and loves drinking, fighting, travelling and music above all else.

He's not based off Bacchus, although he might have subconsciously inspired it to some extent.


Unless any of you have a problem with it, I'm planning on starting either late tonight or around noon tomorrow (of course, that's going by my time, which is US Central/GMT- 6 hours). Late tonight actually meaning around 2:00 AM. Of course, you don't all have to post immediately.

The result of this roll, combined with the nature of the situation, the ability of the character, and various other similar factors, will determine the outcome.

Seems like a good idea to me. But question; What if two wizards are using magic together? My thought would be just not bother using the die and just rely on both their magic power and how much each of them has used up.

That would require creating a system where a quantitative value is assigned to each character's magic power. I thought about doing that, but it required making things way more complicated than I feel they should be for something like this. I might add something like that in later, though. As for purely roleplaying the results and ignoring the dice rolling, I feel an element of chance makes things more interesting. However, I have no intention of letting the dice overtake the actual roleplaying in terms of importance. Being clever and thinking outside the box will still earn you success, even if you have bad luck. Usually.

 

So, in conclusion, I would still roll a die, either for one each of them, or one for both of them combined, as the situation demanded.

You can try, but unless you get a really high roll, it will probably just injure you. Although, if you tried to eat iron, I think you'd probably break your teeth regardless.

nah, not iron. I was thinking more along the lines of a shadow dragon slayer. That shadow manipulation thing is awsome! But remember, my oc is super stubborn, so he'll probably do it anyways regardless of injury.

I guess you can do that if you want. I'm not really sure how much you can do with sound magic, but it ought to be interesting if nothing else.
