The glamorous City of Sydneigh, sound like something out of a movie and for Mystic Dawn, that was what she hoped it would be. Shes finished with her days as a trained killer, she doesn't want to live like it any more. the boat pulled up at Sydneigh harbor and she got out. after a half-hour trot through the city, she found the apartment she already rented before she left. it looked cozy, the perfect place to start a new life

((For simplicity and ease of interaction, I'm gonna have Windy stay in the same apartment building as Mystic))

With the wind blowing through his mane and his heart beating hard in his chest, Windy Runner watched as the clouds parted and the elegant city of Sydneigh opened up below. With a grin on his face, he entered into a steep dive, shooting down towards the city, before pulling up at the last second and crashing down heavily on a wooden jetty. Smashing down onto the jetty, Windy leaned back on his hind legs, proclaiming loudly, "And Windy sticks the landing! The crowds are going wild!!!" However, a splintering sound of wood snapped him out of his fantasy. Before he could react, the jetty cracked and broke, depositing Windy in the water with an ungraceful splash and an unmanly scream. Dragging himself out, soaking wet and cursing, he grumbled, "Not exactly the best way to start in a new city. They just don't build jetties here like they did in Ponyville... Whatever."

Shaking off some of the water, and fishing his saddlebags out of the water, Windy began trotting quickly through the city, hoping the breeze would air dry him. By the time he had reached his apartment building, he was almost totally dry. Walking in with his bags, he found his room quickly. It was small, but comfortable enough. Probably the best feature was the westward facing balcony, so he could sit outside and watch the sunset. Pleased with the accommodations, Windy tossed himself on his bed, deciding a nap was in order, followed by some food.

"Hey! We're almost there!" A voice called from the upper deck.

Dogboots leaped from his hammock and looked out the window as the small fishing vessel was beginning to approach the harbor of Sydneigh. The stallion loudly yawned making his way towards a small counter. He picked up a small pot filled with coffee and began to pour himself a cup to perk himself up. After a short while, Dogboots headed up towards the deck and took in the amazing view of his new home.

"Beautiful isn't it?" The captain had remarked.

"Yeah and a new start too. Thanks again for giving me passage." He replied taking in the view of the city.

"You held up your end of the bargain, Mr. Boots. I might as well hold up mine. I hope I get to see you again sometime." He said before heading towards the lower deck.

After they had docked the earth pony began making the trek towards his new home. Dogboots thought the sight of the city from the outside was something, but was soon proven wrong by the city itself. The size of the large buildings were enough to rival that of Canterlot itself. The colt barely had any idea where he was going to find his new apartment building.

Curious quickly sneaked off the boat he was a "passenger" on. "That ride was absolutely awful, and that smell, sweet Celestia I must remember to stay as far away from dead fish in the future as possible"

Curious didn't have many bits saved up, but when he saw the small fishing vessel and learned of it's destination, he couldn't help but jump at the opportunity. The wondrous City of Sydneigh, in the country of Horsetralia, a place completely unlike the main land of Equestria.

He managed to pull some strings and called in a few favors to arrange a suitable apartment flat. There was a catch, of course, that being that he had to share it with a flatmate, but Curious didn't have really have any other options available.

With his small saddle-bag in tow, Curious flew at a noticeably expedient pace towards his new living quarters.

He noticed a rather peculiar earth pony wandering the streets, and recognized him as having been a legitimate passenger on the boat he was just on, and decided that it might be wise to avoid him. "Not that it is particularly easy to do so, he seems to be going in same direction as me!"

Curious took a small detour and ended up at his apartment a bit later than he was hoping. "My flatmate is probably already here, might well introduce myself." He opened the door and made his way into the apartment.

It was small, but cozy, and probably the best feature it had was the westward facing balcony, where Curious could just relax and watch the sunset. He heard sounds coming from the kitchen area, and Curious made way towards it.

"Why hello there, I suppose you are my flat"

Curious paused for a moment, his mouth slightly agape as he saw what was perhaps the most unruly pegasus he had ever seen. His mane was an absolute mess, clearly had just gotten out of bed. And the food he was preparing for himself; Curious knew that could not possibly be healthy for him.

"mate."

No pony knew Cooks real name so everypony just called her Cook and she was a jolly peach faced mare who helped Cuppie Cake get the job as a pastery chef on board a cruise line and she was glad of it but it wasn't her kind of work so when she learned that Cooks sister had the feather flu and owned a bakery in Sydneigh and that was one of the cruises stops she offered to leave the boat and stay with her sister until she got better. Cook thought it was a wonderful idea and helped her escape rightunder the managers nose. They said their goodbyes and then she was off.

The directions had been scribbled pretty poorly but she finaly arrived at a cute little bakery with an apartment above it Cuppie smiled, this was exactly what she had wanted she walked in and introduced herself and kindly gave her the nore Cook had written for her sister. She was shocked when the mare had tossed the letter into the fire of then oven sniffing and exclaiming "I don't need you."

But Cuppie was not about to give up, "may I atleast have some place to stay?"

"Fine."

It took Dogboots a couple hours before he found the apartment building he was looking for. The stallion began making his way up the building to his new apartment. He looked back and forth between the paper and the doors that were labeled with different numbers.

"Ah! here it is, apartment 4F!" He said to himself before opening the door.

The apartment was average, it had all the necessary utilities that were necessary for living. Dogboots unhitched his saddlebags and dropped them on the floor. The impact almost sounded like a sack of bricks dropping on the floor.

"Might as well start unpacking."

@@GaleFenrir,

Turning away from the deep fried double stacked sandwich he had been making, Windy saw that he had company. Beaming widely, he trotted over, extending a hoof for a hoofbump. "Sup bro? I heard I was having a roomie, but I didn't know it'd be another pegasus! Dude, this is gonna be sweet! Two bachelors, seeing the town, breaking a few hearts, having a good time..." Windy's voice trailed off as he got glassy eyed thinking about how much the next few months would rock. Shaking his head and turning to face the pony again, he chuckled, "Oh, where are my manners? Name's Windy Runner, and yours is...?"

@,

It took Curious a moment to comprehend what this Windy stallion was saying. "His mannerisms are absolutely fascinating, though brutish."

Curious cautiously tapped his own hoof against that of his new "bro". "Ahem, right, my name is Curious, pleasure to make your acquaintance, Windy Runner. Though, I regret to inform you that I am here on business, not pleasure, so I suppose you'll have to go about your 'breaking hearts' and such with out me, no?"

"Really now, who has the time to worry themselves with mares when there is so much more going on in this city? Though, I suppose a bit of romance could be interesting in and of itself... bah, no need to think such thoughts," Curious thought to himself, eyeing the sandwich that Windy had just created. He knew it was absolutely disgusting, but he was still quite peckish from the long and cramped ride.

Before Cuppie could settle into her new home she needed to take a walk to get a feel for the town and to clear her mind she couldn't understand how Chef could be so nice and her sister, who's name was Flour Powder, was so disagreeable. The town was aslo off too there were three restraunts in the same block and two different appartment buildings one nice looking one next to the bakery and one shabby one down the street. The set up made no sense and only succeeded in confusing Cuppie and then she got lost. Great.

"Nice to make your acquaintance Curious! Wow, your name is really suited to your mark, you know? Although all that talk about no mares for you, now that's just a shame man, you need to do some dating! Even if you are here on business, you need some R&R sometimes! And besides, we can be wingponies for each other! Everypony needs a good wingpony! You ever need help, I got your back dude! Now, onto the issue of food. I see you eyeing my sandwich, and I totally understand. See, its this delicious concotion I thought up a while back. You fry bacon, soak bread in the bacon grease, then toast it! Pile on some ham and eggs, toss the bacon on, and wallah! You've got yourself a tasty stacker! Our metabolisms won't be this fast forever, so we might as well eat terribly while we can, am I right? You can have half the sandwich if you're super starving, I personally am not super hungry."

"Dang Windy, slow down with the motor-mouthing. You don't want to overwhelm your new housemate. Yeah, yeah, I got it brain. Its all good! I'll tone back a bit."

Sliding over half of the sandwich towards Curious, Windy took a seat at the kitchen counter and began eating a few bites of the other half. Chuckling lightly, he looked back at Curious, "And sorry about talking so much man, I'm just super stoked to have a roomie, that I got a little carried away. You ever have that happen where you just start rambling out of excitement?"

Dogboots had spent the next half hour unpacking his things which there really wasn't much to begin with. All he had packed with him were some books, a few cans of food, a first aid kit and his scrapbook.

"Hmmm. That didn't take as long as I thought it would. I might as well go around town and get a good layout of the city. That way I don't get lost." He thought to himself. The earth pony left the room and locked it tight before exiting the building. Then again there really wasn't much to steal from a poor earth pony such as himself.

Dogboots began to walk around the block looking at various buildings and taking note of various landmarks to find his way home should he get lost. However, the stallion wasn't paying attention to what was in front of him. The earth pony soon collided with a white pegasi mare.

"Oh- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you like that," He said apologizing to Cuppie.

@,

Curious looked at Windy as he went on, and despite himself, Curious only managed to process about half of it before deciding that he'd  be better off just nodding his head than actually trying to parse through the words coming out of his excitable new friend.

When the sandwich was split and he was offered half of it, he started paying proper attention again. "It's quite alright, Windy, but no, can't say I have ever had that problem myself. And thank you for the sandwich, but I am not so much of a meat-eater, not since a particular incident I had in the gryphon kingdoms. I think I'll just unpack my stuff and find something to eat in town."

Curious excused himself from the kitchen and made his way to his room. He unpacked his things, which wasn't much, as he has always traveled light. He made sure he had a few bits on his person, readjusted his neck scarf and trotted over to the front door.

Noting that Curious was leaving, and hadn't eaten the other half of the sandwich, Windy shrugged and gobbled it down, along with his half. Noting that Question was about to leave the house, Windy chuckled and trotted over. Kicking open the door to the patio, he called out, "Hey, Curious! Dude, we're pegasi! Why use doors when we can fly? Like this!" Giving a jaunty wave, Windy threw himself out of the apartment and over the side of the balcony, before swooping back up and hovering in front of the patio. "So, if you're headed out, I guess I'll check out the city a bit too. Be sure to come back at a decent time, and you can enjoy more of my cooking, sin carne, if that's what you'd prefer! I'll see you later man!" Giving another jaunty wave and an almighty burp from eating the sandwich too quickly, Windy pumped his wings and vanished from view.

Flying up a few stories, Windy mused, "Wow, I do like that Curious dude. A bit prudish, but I'll get him to loosen up... In time!" However, Windy wasn't really looking where he was flying, and before he could react, flew into the bottom of a balcony several stories higher than his. Letting out an almighty yell of pain, he fell crashing down onto the balcony of the apartment below. Rubbing his head and sitting up, Windy looked through the glass door into the apartment that he had landed on, and noticed that it was occupied. A midnight blue mare was inside. Smiling sheepishly, Windy waved at her, feeling a blush coming over his cheeks because of his klutzy move.

Cuppie Cake blinked and looked down at herself now covered in the white of the flour she had picked up along the way the usual mint green coat was now completely covered in white she looked from herself to the stallion and back to herself again and then she befan to laugh. Whole heartedly she giggled and laughed so hard that tears came to the corners of her eyes like it was the funniest thing in the world.

The stallion felt a little awkward once the mare had started laughing uncontrollably. He didn't understand what was funny, she was covered in flour.

"Um, A-are you okay?" He asked the laughing mare. Dogboots had only spent a couple of hours in the city and already he messed up though it didn't seem like it with the mare laughing.

When Cuppie finally stopped laughing and stood up wippingbthe tears from her eyes she cleared her throat. "Haha um...no but I must look so rediculous right now."

She unfolded her wings inspecting them and sure enough flour had gotten into almost all her feathers. "Oh feathers." She said as if scoulding them, she then tried to shake off the excess flour but only managed to get off a small amount amd create a dust cloud around her.

"Haha that's ok i'll just some tomorrow, I'm Cuppie Cake," she stuck out her hoof in a hoof shake but decided against it and put her flour covered hoof down. "All I need now is a bath," she leaned in close to the stallion like she was telling a secret, "you know I've heard that the best kind of bath is a salt water one." She looked toward the harbor then back at Dogboots and closed her one visible eye the other being covered by her mane. "You can't tell right now but I'm totally winking." Then took off toward to shore line flapping her wings exitedly.

Curious had made it all the way down the stairs of the apartment building when Windy came flying out of their balcony door. The stallion waved emphatically and was telling Curious he should just make it a habit of flying out their apartment.

"Um, yeah, not going to be jumping off a patio several stories up anytime soon, thank you very much," Curious thought to himself as he turned and waved back at Windy Runner. He turned back toward the street and was about to begin a leisurely stroll to one of the nearby restaurants or bakeries. "Though, I must admit that guy is friendly enough, perhaps he won't be so bad a flatmate. And did he just say 'sin carne'? Either he is more cultured than I initially thought or he just knows more about food."

But then he heard a crash, followed by a yell of pain. And it was coming from back towards the apartment. "Did...did he just? I rescind my last thought, he probably is just a simpleton." Curious turned back around, flying out of instinct to hurry and survey the damage.

When Curious had arrived to where Windy had landed, he found him awkwardly waving at whoever was occupying the apartment he had so gracefully arrived upon. "Really? Really? You tease me about not flying and then you go and crash? Now, where are you hurt? I think we should have some basic first aid supplies in our apartment and— hey who are you waving at?"

Curious looked through the glass door of the balcony and saw a unicorn mare.

Curious quickly made note of two things. One, her cutie mark was a pair of daggers, not really the kind of mark one would want to see when you just intruded upon their property. Two, he was staring at her, and blushing slightly, though it was not quite as noticeable as Windy's, due to his already red coat.

Dogboots attempted to keep up with the pegasi, but he kept running into other ponies that were also walking.

"Sorry, Pardon me!" He said while making his way to the harbor.

As soon as the stallion had reached the harbor he didn't see the mare anywhere. "Is she already in the water?" He thought running out onto the sandy shore.

Now while this situation had seemed funny to Cuppie, it was the exact opposite for Dogboots. The stallion was terrified being lifted into the air and then dropped into the salty water. The earth pony didn't even have an opportunity to take off his boots and vest before being dropped into the ocean, which would make swimming a bit difficult.
