(Having fun down that alley? *evil laugh*)

"What was that about?!" Cadence screamed at Harmonic as he entered the throne room behind her, not giving him a chance to speak.

"Ma'am? I'm not sure I completely understand..." Harmonic replied, again with a hint of confusion in his voice. "We handled it ma'am, he knows where he stands, and you told him what he wanted to hear, what more did you want from th-" he had to duck suddenly, as a heavy vase came flying through the air towards him, smashing on the wall.

"You idiot! You and your goddamn guards couldn't even control one petty unicorn in your own living space! How do you expect to keep an empire in check with that rabble?!" She stormed around the room as she yelled, pulling about various furniture pieces with her.

Harmonic nodded his head in understanding, "I...I see ma'am. What would you have me do?"

"First off I want to know how he even got inside, didn't you post guards on the door?!"

"I did, but...they where only the regular guards..."

Cadence scoffed, as if mocking his words "Regular guards... pfft! Regula- ha! And what? I suppose you think your own guards would be better out there?" She glared at him as she spoke, giving him a look that would make death shiver.

"N-no ma'am, i'm simply saying that..."

"Forget it! You've already proven how effective your 'guards' are."

"So you would have me execute them ma'am?"

"No no...not yet..." Cadence sighed as she calmed down, sitting in her throne and resting a hoof on her head. "Your bloodlust is wasted on your own, you need to turn it to a better use. Get your guards trained up. Quickly."

"Yes ma'am" Harmonic saluted and walked out the door, ready to give the word to his soldiers and return to Arrow to check on the wounded pony.

"And Harmonic! Double...no...triple the guards on the streets. I want 3 times as many patrols with 4 times as many guards per!"

Bowing his head as he turned around again, he simply stated "It will be done" before closing the doors and returning to Arrow.

Acheron was pleased to see that another had decided to join up. One thing stood in his mind though. Loyalty. He knew nothing about these ponies, opening up the possibility of danger within their own and betrayal.

"Of course I won't let that go unchecked. I have my ways of 'binding' others to services..."

Acheron was thinking quietly as he paced around, looking around the slums to make sure they were in the clear and then towards the other ponies around him.

Crimson grinned expectantly at his new companions, "this is beginning to get VERY interesting.....but I agree with crystal, if we want to start a proper rebellion, then we need more troops, and we need to know what eachother are capable of..." crimson then grinned mishcheviosly, before igniting his entire body on fire, the ground beneath him and the wal saround him began to charr, yet his hat, cloak, and cutlass were unharmed, crimsons smile widened, "I am crimson grinn.....the greatest pirate ever to sail the seas of equestria.....and I just made a badass introduction!" Said crimson happily, before extinguishing his flames.

((Just so you know, crimson was in a different allyway as not to burn anything of crystals....))

Acheron chuckled at Crimson's display of power. Certainly more than Acheron expected, he felt Crimson would make a more valuable ally than before.

"Wonderful," Acheron said as he watched the fires burn. "You'll probably see my skills soon enough. I will say however that I am skilled in the arcane, moreso than even any powerful unicorn."

Crimson raised an amused eyebrow and chuckled, "first of all, that wasn't magic, it was my natural energy onverted into flames fueled by my will, I'll tell you later how I obtained this power, its a LONG story......and secondly, are you even more powerful than twilight sparkle, the ELEMENT of magic?" Asked crimson.

@ragestar

So this is a skills competition eh?

Crystal Dusk proceeds to wall jump up 3 stories and back down barley making any noise in the process.

"Ah that was easy! I may not look strong but I am very agile."

@ragestar

"Try and do that"

Crystal Dusk had proven her point. Even after being homeless and barely eating for three months she was still very agile.

@ragestar

"Sorry for showing off. Just wasnted to make sure you and everyone else knows im not some weak homeless pony"

"I've heard of such an ability. Nonetheless, it can still be categorized as a form of magic. As for Twilight Sparkle... Yes, she is an extremely powerful unicorn, but I know things that she would not dare trifle with."

To Acheron, that was already too much of a giveaway, but he played with his comment as if it was an ordinary boast.

Sanguinem continued to walk silently through the streets of the Crystal Empire, the waxed sack at his side swaying slightly with each step. He was shorter than the average Crystal Pony stallion, which usually caused his opponents to underestimate him. A fact he was one hundred percent okay with, as it gave him a strategic advantage.

The dark crimson stallion dodged around to the side of a cart, climbing up the side of it and onto the top, leaping from there to the ledge of a building's roof, which he pulled himself onto, ignoring the comments and looks he received from civilians and patrols alike. He looked out over the expanse of the Empire. He smiled beneath his face mask, bracing himself slightly against a nearby chimney as a small wave of vertigo struck, "This place is starting to look like it did under Sombra's rule. Not quite the same, but close enough, considering." He thinks to himself, chuckling aloud, "Nostalgic. Almost makes me feel old?"

He hops off of the roof, landing expertly on the streets, still chuckling. Sanguinem trots towards a small lean-to structure, taking the sack from his side and tossing it before the ragged pony sitting beneath it, where it landed with a slightly meaty 'thump'. The codger takes it, opening it up and making a face before cackling, "So, y'caught the deserter then, boy?"

Sanguinem nods, "Obviously. Brought you the head, and the Marks. Just like we used to 1000 years ago, eh?"
The assassin chuckles as the ragged pony sets the sack aside and tosses him a small pouch of coins, "There y'are. No scat, I haven't got anything for you just yet."

Sanguinem nods, slipping the pouch into the folds of his armor before making his way casually towards the castle.

Crimson merely grinned happliy at crystals show of skill, "very good, I probably could do that.....well with some practise, but still, that's very interesting, and for the record, I never saw you as a weak, homeless pony, but you do need to fill in some if you want to improve your speed..." said crimson mischeviously, before holding up one of crystals pictures and grinning, "if you do, you could be even faster than me, tell me, did you notice me take i? Crimson then turned to look at acheron, "I can also read auras....everyones aura is visible to me right now..." crimson then leaned closer to acheron, "do you have somthing to say to everyone acheron?" Asked crimson, referring to acherons aura.

((Krein, please don't be mad at crimsons revealation, he really does have that power, and I figured that since acheron uses dark magic, then his aura should have a dark feel to it...))

@@Ano170,@@00Pony,

"Arrow, leave the whelp. We need to move, we have plans." Harmonic grumbled as he walked into the middle of the room, looking around for a moment before shouting in a deep, rib-rattling voice "Guards! Form up front and center, NOW!"
Sure enough, within a single minute, every guard in and around the Crystal Palace had taken formation infront of him, his own personal soldiers behind. It was something to behold alright...at times, he felt like calling them in just to see them in all their splendor. A practical legion of soldiers, armoured from head to hoof in shining crystal armour, layered over a chainmail undercoat. Armed with halberds, spears and sword alike. Not a single one incapable of defending themselves or their comrades, and all of them ready to die for their empire.

"Empress Cadence has issued a new order, the patrols on the streets are to be reinforced, effective immediately!" Harmonic barked, letting out a deep involuntary growl as he finished his sentence, a clear sign he was annoyed. "I want patrols of no less than 6 of you. 2 unicorns and 4 earth ponies on the ground at all times! Pegasi, you're in flight formation in groups of 7!"

The legion of guards before him, saluted in unison without saying a word.
"Get moving!" With that, the doors burst open and the guards poured out of the palace, organising themselves into their groups and splitting off into different parts of the city, each within eyesight of at least another 2. "Now let's see if we have a repeat performance..." Harmonic growled again, in a low, menacing rumble as he walked out of the palace himself, followed by his two dozen guards.

"Nice moves you guys have there... for a talent show. Let me show you what REAL magic looks like." Black smoke started to seep out of the ground beneath him, slowly swirling in a circle around him. The cyclone of smoke rose, engulfing his body. His horn glowed a dark purple, his whole body quivering.

Whoosh!

He shot up into the sky in a column of black smoke.

Crack!

He landed square on his hind legs, his daggers drawn. The ground had ruptured beneath him on impact.

"And that, fillies and gentlecolts, is how it's done."

"I intended to, yes. If that's alright with you." Mad Life sat in the typical pony manner, on her haunches supported by leaning on her forehooves. Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary about that, though that omnipresent smile remained ever untouched. "Back to the plan, if you will." The train lurched as it began to pull out of the Crystal Empire, Mad Life resisted the shift in momentum with no apparent difficulty. "I'm thinking that we're not supposed to make a scene. A simple poll of the local populace may be sufficient to get us the information we need. Any thoughts?"

"I agree. Appleoosa is well known for it's hospitality." Chippy inquired. "So, we shall go there and ask some locals about moving caravans or travelling merchants, and attack the caravans and merchants without the locals knowing. That way, we can be friendly with the locals, nopony will know it's us two, and we can get back with supplies for the Empire."

(Got it.)

Sanguinem glanced up at the towering palace as he neared it, picking up his pace slightly.

It wasn't long before he was standing about one hundred feet from the entrance. He stopped to admire the building for a few seconds before turning his gaze back to the ground an stepping forward. The doors flew open and Crystal Guards literally poured out, spreading themselves out across the city. Sanguinem stopped and stepped aside as a few patrols marched past him. He shook his head as he continued in his way after they passed. He noticed Harmonic walking out himself, flanked by twenty four guards of his own. The assassin trotted up to Harmonic, giving him a nod, "Mind if I ask the occasion?"

"Forgive me but I don't think you're understanding what we are to do here." Mad Life didn't raise her pitch, sharpen her tone, give any indication of anger or annoyance or even a bit of any other emotion. She just continued to politely explain, "We are not tasked with attacking the Appaloosa caravans. We are purely here as reconnaissance." She paused for a moment. "However, attacking something is not out of the question if it suits our purpose..."

"War..." Harmonic grumbled in response. "Where have you been soldier? I sent out a call not two hours ago for my generals, you didn't show and I want to know why." His nose twitched slightly as he looked out over the city, seeing the residents going about what was left of their daily life...oh how he despised them all, with their families and their malcontent for Cadence's leadership, it disgusted him how someponies could be so unappreciative of leadership.

There was a sudden eruption of smoke in one corner of the city, towering high into the air, followed by a large crashing sound that caught Harmonic's attention. "You four, go and check that out, and sort out whoever is causing the disruption." he snapped at a cluster of his guards.

Chippy stared out the window. "What if we meet some Equestrians? Surely they will be in the way if we act suspicious? Shouldn't we attack them if they question suspicious-looking ponies asking for information?"

Chippy looked at a clock inside the train. "That went fast. We have an hour and a half left."

Acheron watched quietly as he studied the abilities of the other ponies. Everything was going well, until the shadowy unicorn shot up into the sky with a column of smoke.

"Not even a fraction of my capabilities," Acheron thought as he stood up and prepared to speak. He signalled for the ponies to stop their antics.

"Impressive abilities, but first thing I should mention is that we will not attract unnecessary attention," he said sternly as he shot a glre towards Curse. "Make your choices. Form this alliance and we will prepare ourselves to ensure Cadenza's plans fail and eventually bring about her demise. Refuse... well, let's just say you won't remember a thing," Acheron said finally as his horn sparked with magic. For a split second his dark green aura changed to black, and a parchment flew from seemingly nowhere in front of Acheron. If one looked hsrd enough, they could see a faint, black aura coming from the parchment.

The assassin chuckles, looking up at the stallion, "But anyway. You mentioned a war? It's about damn time. Perhaps Cadence's conquest will be more successful than my previous ruler's, eh?" Sanguinem chuckles darkly.

"Celestia has been restraining our empress for too long, it's time we rose up and took action. I've sent Mad Life and Chip Away down to Appleloosa on the other side of the map..." he narrowed his eyes and looked around for a moment, before returning his attention to his final general "Appleloosa has been a strategic strongpoint for Canterlot for some time now. The supply wagons that run through there, from our last report are starting to bear heavier arms than the usual...i'm just hoping Celestia hasn't caught word of our uprising." He lifted up onto his hind legs, and with a series of hoof motions he lowered back down again onto all fours, and his guards fanned out in all directions, again seemingly disappearing into thin air with how fast they moved into the distance. The dark crimson coated Crystal Pony smiled beneath his mask, "I see. I doubt Celestia's caught wind of this... But I suppose it's always a possibility. I've had my Network keep close tabs on an insurrectionist behavior among the ranks of the guards. Perhaps I should have them branch out and start keeping an eye on these malcontent civilians as well?"

Sanguinem watched the guards fan out. For as long as he'd known Harmonic, he'd always been impressed with the discipline and speed his squad acted on, though he kept silent about it. He nodded slightly, "Sounds like fun. Should I notify my Network about this little escapade, and see if any wish to tag along?
