  1. Given that I'm an EDM fanatic it's inevitable that I'd go to clubs when I'm of age to do so, but ideally I'd be going as a performer and not as a patron. Nothing against dancing, in fact I love dancing to death and I'm not half bad for somebody with no formal training, but I just don't have many friends who are the club type and it's no fun without friends! Don't personally have anything against responsible drinking either, but I wouldn't engage in it to often. I feel horrible the day following any hard liquor.
  2. For me the show can never be 'ruined' because I never took it seriously in the first place. I understand it's merits and it's shortcomings and the fact that it is intended for an audience of a different gender and age group than I am. What's more important to me is fan content. If that starts going down the tubes it's lights out for me.
  3. @@Ano170, Around the time the forces of the Crystal Empire arrived Mad Life had a feeling they were there. She had seen nothing, not especially with the limited vantage point her room's small window provided her. She just had a knack for noticing things out of place, the odd stray shadow crossing the sun which indicated that a storm would be developing. She had ordered another drink to be delivered to her room. Pineapple this time, and amazingly enough they'd actually had the ability to produce it for her. She did seem to enjoy her exotic fruit drinks. The glass was empty and sitting at her bedside when a knock came on her door. "Hello there." Mad Life recognized Arrow from the Empire. "Long way you've come, did you have a good journey? Something seems to be troubling you." It was the way the shadows crossed the eye, Mad Life could tell the stallion before her was in some form of internal conflict. She was merely being polite and offering her aid.
  4. http://www.buckcon.org/ Ya'll got competition. You could always do a more localized meetup/con if you want to, but I think BUCK is already the BroNYcon of the UK.
  5. Hey what about Rarity, why the heck didn't she get proposed to millions of times? I'd want to open a beauty salon or a fashion brand. Beauty is something I like doing a lot in real life, and it'll give me an excuse to make my acquaintance with Rarity. I will do it. I will make it happen.
  6. Well Daft Punk's Random Access Memories was made primarily with live orchestration and vintage electronic equipment, so I figure if anything that Aesu's work would sound closest to it. No soft synths in RAM as far as I'm aware.
  7. Well there was only so much you could do considering the technical limitations. Once you've got a proper DAW you should be able to do much more. The EP was really good to start off with, I would say don't redo it unless you really really want to. I'm not the type who likes redoing old work, personally.
  8. Okay, this is pretty much freaking amazing if you didn't even have a fully functional DAW at your disposal. The mix sounds really lush and full, which is more than I can say for anything I've ever made with an operational DAW. It would make really good lounge music pretty much as it is right now, I'm positive. Definitely following your future work! So is the brunt of the song sampled material?
  9. Mad Life had taken refuge in the Appleoosa's sole tavern for the night, renting a room with what remained of her bits. She didn't need them, and soon the owner probably wouldn't either. When she awoke, having slept on all fours as she always did, she noted that the sun was up bright and shining over the city. Perfect weather for slaughter, Mad Life had to give the Princess of the Sn regards on that one. She figured it would be best to wait in her room, which had an excellent view of the bustling little outpost in it's entirety.
  10. I have to be perfectly honest, I'm not really sold on the idea of re-watching the series. I like the series and all, yes, but I always preferred the fandom that sprung up around the show to the show itself. I adore every episode when it comes out (except for Magical Mystery Cure because TOO MANY MUSICAL NUMBERS DAMN IT) but I don't personally think they have rewatch value.
  11. Not saying they're not seen without weapons, I just doubt that ponies have many major reasons to harm others in a lethal manner. The weapons just belong to ponies assigned to high profile ponies.
  12. Yeah I figure in a society where lethal violence is probably antiquated (despite the many fanfic that tell other stories) the majority of fighting is physical. A ponies body is going to be stronger than a human of the same relative physical conditioning, so even Rarity can deliver a mean buck and bite and so on.
  13. @, ((I'm going to go ahead and push the spies actions forward so that we don't fall ludicrously behind.)) "Not a talkative one, are you?" Mad Life herself was surprisingly conversational, able to chatter amicably about subjects that weren't the expected torture, mutilation, etc. Her juice had been finished long beforehand, the train pulled into station at Appleoosa and caused the glass to fall over to the floor with a clunk. Mad Life levitated it back to level, broken horn briefly glowing a dull oppressive gray which cast itself over the glass like murky water manifested to life. She regarded the train itself. It was typical affair for Equestria, spacious carriage with plenty of personal room per seat and homely decoration in earthy tones. Assuming this train would be stopping in Appleoosa for the night, this would be it's probable last stop. Forever. "Unfortunately there will be no trains back, thanks to this journey taking a surprisingly long time. Poor management service, though the drinks at least were delicious." She gestured for Chippy to follow along. "We can still get our superiors something, even if not in person." Mad Life didn't need to see much to figure out what was going on. The General herself was there, the Element of Honest, and it seemed she had assigned a small battalion to getting resources into and out of the city under the snouts of the raiders. A fairly obvious counterplay, but so far effective. That was more or less all they would need to know. Mad Life took it upon herself to send the information out, though what she liked to call impression. The birds of the desert were a hardy bunch, suited to long flights with little rest. A little ways beyond the town, where one of Applejack's soldiers called on her to go no further due to the 'danger' beyond that area, Mad Life found a particularly grim looking vulture. To it she provided what may be charitably described as impersonal torture, which never really seemed to be the case because her demeanor remained eerily constant throughout. A few lashes and gouges later Mad Life had tied a scroll with her message to her superiors and sent the now slightly blood-caked vulture off towards the Crystal Empire on fear of much worse from the mistress of chains. "The General is present in the city, along with a battalion numbering about forty or so. Apparently there will be reinforcements from their capital within the next two days." - Mad Life
  14. The same set of 10 or so interchangeable T shirts, two pairs of pants and two pairs of jeans in whatever combination. I have a hard time dressing myself as a guy, my mind just naturally is inclined to dress women.
  15. I would avoid Ponyville like the plague. Check out Manehattan or something and get busy with my new life as we know it (by Alex S). I think most bronies would have to get a lesson in reasonable conduct, but after that we should be able to integrate fine, though there may be extra complications if we don't actually become ponies when we're there. After we're all nice and settled... then I'll look into wooing Rarity. Ehehehe.
  16. @@Shift, "Well in that case yes we will have to defend ourselves won't we? Though to be fair we should not get ourselves into such a situation in the first place." Mad Life ordered a juice from a passing cart, which she drunk peaceably. "Would you like anything, Chippy?" The metal rings looped around her forehooves dinged quietly against her drink glass. "Once we get off we should act quickly. We may miss our train back otherwise, and I doubt our general would smile on us for being late."
  17. @@Shift, "Forgive me but I don't think you're understanding what we are to do here." Mad Life didn't raise her pitch, sharpen her tone, give any indication of anger or annoyance or even a bit of any other emotion. She just continued to politely explain, "We are not tasked with attacking the Appaloosa caravans. We are purely here as reconnaissance." She paused for a moment. "However, attacking something is not out of the question if it suits our purpose..."
  18. I think that double standard goes back to the idea that Rarity is difficult to relate to due to being, out of the Mane Six, the most overtly feminine in nature. All the other mares have talents that are more typically unisex, but fashion is sort of a niche thing in general (ironically the majority of major designers are men) that the internet where bronies come from typically doesn't look too fondly upon. Academia? Good. Farmwork? Good. Racing? Good. Parties? Good. Animal caretaker? Good. Couture? Frivolous and a waste of time. Now me not agreeing with that is the precise reason Rarity is my favorite pony. But for the majority, she'll always probably be the hardest of the mane six to relate to on a personal level.
  19. @@Shift, "I intended to, yes. If that's alright with you." Mad Life sat in the typical pony manner, on her haunches supported by leaning on her forehooves. Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary about that, though that omnipresent smile remained ever untouched. "Back to the plan, if you will." The train lurched as it began to pull out of the Crystal Empire, Mad Life resisted the shift in momentum with no apparent difficulty. "I'm thinking that we're not supposed to make a scene. A simple poll of the local populace may be sufficient to get us the information we need. Any thoughts?"
  20. If I have total control over it I'd become a unicorn mare because yay gender swaps. And the ability to use magic would be too awesome to pass up.
  21. And there are 'haters' who are army men themselves, some who are decent people who just had a bad experience with the bad side of our fandom... A brony holy war (words I never thought I'd say right there) is not only detrimental to our image it's unnecessary. We're by and large out of the limelight. Media has moved on to new things to mock and critique. And we're not going to change minds by being vocal about whatever. People will let us be, like they do furries and what not. We've reached the equilibrium of a mature fandom I think, where we can go on without outside intervention.
  22. @@Shift, "In a desert exactly twelve thousand canters away from here." With anypony else those words would probably have been at least slightly sarcastic, no matter how nice and polite the pony was otherwise. After all, they hadn't really gotten any further than the train station. Mad Life however, maintained her dissonant peace completely even as she considered their train tickets. Chippy had, as a zebra, probably never travelled the Equestrian kingdom or even studied a map before. Mad Life noted that she'd have to cross reference that with whatever information she could dig up on her temporary partner. "Two tickets for Appaloosa, thank you." To the untrained observer, Mad Life looked like your normal mare who had suffered a freak horn accident when she was young and had a weird thing for messing with her cutie mark. Only within the empire itself was she infamous in any manner. Only just up to the train station going out was she already anonymous, at least for the moment. She thus received the duo's tickets with no fanfare, no subtle threats, and no bloody murder. She boarded the train she had chartered for Appaloosa, at most it would be a two hour journey. Plenty of time for them to get what they needed and come back. "After you." Whatever seating Chippy chose Mad Life would sit beside her. "Our mission is purely one of scouting, though how we find our information could be any number of ways, violent or non. If you have any ideas I would like to hear them." Mad Life did have quite a few ideas of her own, but it was rare that she voiced her opinion when she didn't have to- and indeed sometimes even when she did.
  23. It's a wish fulfillment thing, and in the case of demonizing humans well, fanfiction needs some form of antagonistic force and that's one option. For me, I think I would be happy either way.
  24. Mad Life smiled the same serene smile she never stopped smiling at 'Chippy' as she entered. "Forgive me, I will attempt to make our business together as painless to you as is possible." Famous last words from she who slept with chains (not that anybody was actually sure what Mad Life slept with, as nobody would dare ask). "Forgive me sir, I am not the fastest to action." Really it had only been a few seconds since the orders had been issued in the first place, but tempers seemed to run hot in most trusted members of Cadence's officer corps. Mad Life just politely regarded the hasty words as she would any other words. "I will be on my way, and my partner hopefully will as well..." She watched the display with the interloping stallion without a shift in her placid expression. "Follow me, darling." That was addressed to Chippy. "This event does not concern us." Mad Life trotted down the towers stairs, trotted through the standoff in the tower's lobby without so much as a sideways glance as she left to take care of her assignment. She was careful to allow Chippy to keep up, or otherwise wait for the mare if something held her up like a personal vendetta.
