Neon looked at Rambler, she could of swore she saw him inch closer to her "Alright, so to the bar we go? And after the bar we could go to some parties or whatever" Neon said then got up. Neon brushed her mane a bit then put on her lucky pink bracelets "Alright, ready...lets go!" Neon said then grabbed Rambler off the bed

Rambler was all too happy to let her pull him along; he couldn't wait to spend the evening out on the town with her. "So... do you actually know of any good bars around here? Because I haven't actually had a chance to check this place out much yet."

Windy started to follow after Minty as she left, but thought better of it and stopped. Instead, he kicked a nearby goalpost out of frustration. "Argh! Stupid, stupid, stupid! I hugged her and said all that sappy stuff! What was I thinking?! Mares don't want sensitive colts, they want tough stallions who aren't softies and wimps! Damn!" 

 

Windy's frustrated rant was interrupted by Coach Shinsplints, who had walked up behind Windy while he had been venting. "As... interesting as I'm sure your personal affairs are Runner, you have a practice to do. So, how about you train out some of that frustration. I want you working with the other varsity defenders and practicing a fast breakout pattern. We've been weak in that, and I think your speed on defense will give us the chance to counterattack much quicker this season. But you've gotta get it down, so get out there and TRAIN RUNNER!!!" Shinsplints barked. Windy immediately dashed off to join the other defenders to begin drilling. As Windy performed the drills, he was still grumbling in frustration, just mentally now instead of out loud.

 

"Ugh, who does coach think he IS anyways? Now, I'm stuck out here sweating and working in this heat while Minty heads back to our room, all alone... Oh wait, I'm sure Blaze will be more than happy to accompany her back... I should've known I was wasting my time going after her. I guess I can still make a pass at the sorority mares... Windy, don't give up hope yet! You've only known her for a few hours! Just keep being a good stallion to her, and it'll all work out in your favor! You know what brain, you might be right for once!"

 

 

Blaze hadn't noticed what had occured untill he stopped to think about something. He looked down at the field and noticed her walking off. So he got and went to follow. He soon reached the dorm and went to get the handle but stopped. What if she didn't want to be disturbed? The room was silent. He knocked on the door. "Uhh. Hello, minty? Can I come in?"

 

Minty woke up. She had really sensitive ears. She got up to open the door, and sure enough, she had a bed mane. "Hi, Blaze," she smiled. "I was sleeping.." she said, half falling asleep, falling onto the floor. It's just that she was really tired from the stress from her classes and home. Her mom expected straight A+'s but she has a B-, which resulted in a phone call of disappointment.

Blaze reacted quickly and caught minty before she could hit the floor. "Are you OK?" He asked. "I came over to see if you were alright after you walked off. I may have been worried. You know, because I umm. I d-don't like to see you upset or whatever." he looked away again and helped her up.

A loud whirling noise and a swirl of magical energy appeared in the air above and before Royal. A second later, the magical cloud 'popped' and Denim appeared in its place. She gave a small cry as she realized she was in the air, and upside down, before falling with her back to the floor with a 'thud'. Denim turned herself over with a groan and sat back on her haunches, dusting herself off before throwing her hooves in the air and shouting, "Success!!"

 

The blue mare hopped up and began to walk about the room, completely unaware of Royal's presence as she continued to speak to herself, "Well, partial success. I've teleported before... but never made it where I actually wanted to," She glances around the room, "Yep! This is my dorm! So it was more or less successful. Granted, I did come in upside down... and suspended in the air, but that's beside the point! I actually got where I wanted to go!"

 

She finally notices Royal and freezes with a very deer-in-the-headlights expression. Denim stares at him for a few seconds before speaking slowly, "Hi..." She scrunches her nose, "I'm Denim... This is my dorm... Who the heck're you?"

Royal looked at denim with a confused look for a second before he got his bearings together.

"I'm Royal Flush, but you can call me royal...."He paused quizzically at her.

"I guess were roommates. If that your bag over there?" He didnt remember the letters saying anything about co-ed dorms, and while this mare isn't the model he imagined in his head, she was something. 

Royal shook his head.

Your here for a reason, royal. Don't let any attractive mare you see pop in and distract you. YOU are the master of control.

She tilts her head, "Roommates? Oh my," She giggles slightly, "If my brother knew about this, he'd tear this place apart brick by brick."

 

Denim clears her throat, brushing some of her mane behind her ear and using her magic to adjust the white scarf around her neck, "In which case, allow me to apologize if I came off as rude earlier. I was simply, very excited at finally accomplishing a successful teleport."

She speaks with a more refined tone as she says that. She shakes her head and laughs at herself, reverting back to her original tone, "But yeah, it's nice meeting you, Royal! I'm sure we'll get to know each other much better over the next few years."

Denim gives a friendly smile as she says this.

Royal smiled. "Certainty impressive, i'll admit. I can only teleport cards." He teleported an ace in front of denim then teleported it back to demonstrate. Royals 'Talent' was only useless in concept, he knew how to wield his luck well, and even how to manage it so as not to always win.

It's no fun if you always win.

He got up from his chair.

"I don't suppose you've chosen a bed yet, ms...?"

"Oooh," Denim says, looking at the card before he teleports it back, "So what's your cutie mark mean then?" She turned slightly to allow him a better look of hers, "Mine means I excel at elemental based magic, and can kind of branch out into other areas."

 

She perks her ears when he asks if she's chosen a bed yet, and hints at asking for her name, "Oh, Denim!" She says in a chipper tone.

She then narrows her eyes, "Thought I already said that?"

She chuckles and shakes her head, "Anyway, no. I haven't chosen a bed just yet. I kind of got lost trying to find this place, and only skimmed over it after dropping my stuff in the corner, and I wanted to see some more of the campus, so I just left." She shrugs.

Royal smiled.

"Same happened to me, and i saw a few ponies as well." Royal used his magic to round up his cards, and proceeded to shuffle them as he continued to talk.

"My cutie mark is the four suits. I think it just means i'm good with cards." Royal grinned.

"It also means i'm very lucky...Do you play cards?"

Neon laughed then opened the door "Or we could ask around" Neon said wile exciting their room "And i haven't been able to check out this place much either...we can check it out together!"

She chuckled slightly, "Lucky, huh? I wonder, does that apply to everything, or just cards?" She tilts her head as she says this, before shrugging, "Not really, no."

 

She waves a hoof, "Well, to be perfectly honest I've never really tried, but hey."

Rambler shrugged. Honestly, he would be happy just to wander around the town. "Whatever. I'm sure we'll find someplace to go one way or another. This town isn't exactly a big city, but there must be some good bars around, and it should be fun exploring and scouting out hot spots together. Lead the way."

"Well it applies to most things. I don't remember the last time i lost a bet unintentionally."

Royal chuckled.

"As for the beds, take whichever one you want. its just a bed, to me." He stopped shuffling the deck and filed them around him to see if he had them all. After making sure he did, he took mental note of the order.

"You should join me for a card game sometime. It's a good way to relax.

Neon grabbed Rambler, they went past the dorms and got out of the university to the little town. Neon looked around "So if you were a bar where would you be?" Neon asked then laughed

"Well, why would you ever intentionally lose a bet in the first place? That just sounds silly!" Denim says as she trots past him towards the bedrooms, "In that case then, I'll be back here figuring out whichever room is most spacious."

 

She does so. After a few minutes, she returns shortly to levitate her luggage back with her before vanishing again. After another five minutes or so, Denim comes trotting back out and lays down on the couch, tapping a hoof against her chin, "Sooo.. wanna do anything? Like, go get a better look at the campus, or maybe visit the town? Or do you just wanna hang out here?" She twists around to face Royal, "I'm fine with whatever, really.

Rambler laughed. "I don't know, I guess we should just head towards the center of town and hope we get lucky, huh? Oh well, I don't mind wandering around." Rambler tried to make conversation as they walked. "So... I guess we might as well take this time to get to know each other. Where do you come from, anyway?"

"Sometimes winning all the time is boring. Sometimes i like to bet on the most random choice." He finished watching his deck, shuffling it one more time before placing it on the table. 

"Hmmmm...I suppose we could explore the campus for a bit, if you want." He hesitated a bit. This mare was quite more forward then most ponies he knew, and he wasn't always that prepared for a direct conversation.

Two hours later, cursing and grumbling under his breath, Windy began making his way back to his dorm room, wiping sweat, grass stains, and blood off of himself. "So some stupid JV pony goes in for a totally illegal slidetackle, gashes me in the head, and he only gets two extra laps at the end of practice?! What the hay is up with that?" Fumbling with his keys, Windy opened the door to his dorm room. Mumbling a polite hi to his two roommates, Windy trotted over to his bed and tossed himself onto it, letting out a frustrated, exhausted groan.

Denim nods slowly as she thinks his words over, "Yeah... OK, I can see the logic in that. Plus I think you'd be liable to get yourself killed if you won all the time."

 

She reclines for a little bit more before forcing herself off the couch. She stretches and makes for the door, "Alright then, ready when you are!"

Neon walked around the town with Rambler "Where do i come from? Manehatten but i moved to ponyville when i was um, about 16 i think...so i could become a DJ, i know Ponyville seems like a weird place to be a popular DJ...i probably should of gone to somewhere more popular but Vinyl Scratch is popular and she DJs in Ponyville!" Neon said then looked at Rambler "What about you?"

"Oh great I' late to college" Lightning thought frustrated "Hopefully no one will notice" Lightning goes inside her dorm and sits on her bed and begins to unpack her clothes. "As long as I have fun i guess it won't matter" Lightning thought. "Parties, freedom... yep sounds good to me!" Lightning sighs and lays back on the bed.

"Trust me i've nearly come there before." He put his sunglasses on, remembering it was sunny out.

"Might as well go now, eh?"

He took his fedora off, and walked up and opened the door.

"Mares first." He always knew to remember his manners, holding the door open for her.

shade arrived and entered her dorm, she unloaded her stuff and fell on one of the beds, she was tired and couldn't care less if she was late for anything. she looks at herself and spits out a tiny green flame, the flame hovers between her hooves as she plays with it.

Rambler shrugged. "I was born in Stallionshire. It's not very big, you probably haven't heard of it, but it's nice enough. I've been travelling most of my life, though. I've never really liked staying in one place too long. It was actually one of my concerns going to college that I'd have to stay here for such a long time.
