A Clockwork Pony

I decided to try to ponify the intro of the cult movie

. I plan on making it as similar as the movie as possible. I don't have much as of yet since I've only just started working on it.

 

I've only done the Pinkie Pie (as Alex) vector so far. There are still mistakes here and there in the vector that I will try to correct, but this is what it looks like at the moment.

This video was pretty much just a test for the animation, the music and the exporting. I could've simply posted the vector itself but I felt like showing the test video! Obviously, there is still a LOT to be done. There will be a background, other characters and animation in the finished version. I will first do all the vectors including the background etc., as this may take a while, then I'll try to animate it and edit it to make it look like in the movie. (there won't be too much animation to do anyway)

 

Anyway, I just wanted to share this vector with you! I will update this thread when everything else is done :3

This is the intro I will try to ponify btw, if you haven't seen the film. Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Rarity will be the three droogs :3

That would be.. a lot of work!

I'm not THAT good at Flash animation! I chose to recreate the intro because it's relatively simple to animate (characters don't move much, etc. )

Besides I would never find enough time for such a huge project haha

 

I reckon it would be epic though

 

edit: plus, I'd rather not think of what some of the scenes would look like with ponies... :S

UPDATE!

 

Ok, so in the original post I said that I would update when everything is done. Everything is still far from being done (I work very slowly because of college) but I thought I'd let you know what I've done so far.

 

I haven't started animating yet. I'm still working on the vectors, slowly, one pony at a time. The mane cast is done and I've got 7 background ponies done (out of about 20-30, but it won't be so bad since I will be reusing the models and just recolor them.)

I'm still debating whether I should give the main cast white suits like they have in the movie or if I should leave them clothless (save for the hats, of course!)

 

Anyway, here's a little screenshot, but note that this is far from the final product so the background is still pretty bland and there a still many things missing.

 

 

I might also need a voice actor at some point for the narrator. I'll make a more formal request when I really need it, but if anyone is good at imitating Pinkie's voice and is interested, you can PM me! (of course, I'll make sure to add your names to the credits/put your OC pony among the background ponies in the video/whatever else that you might want!)

I had left this project aside for a while, but today I decided to continue working on it and I intend to finish it this time around!

Anyway I thought I'd share what I have done so far.

Like I said, this is far from being finished so that's why there are glitches here and there. That's also why it stops zooming out after some point and Pinkie is just doing nothing staring at the camera, moving awkwardly and drinking milk (speaking of which, the milk animation is not supposed to loop). Anyway, this is just to give an idea. Any feedback will be appreciated.

 

Also, I will need a voice actor for Pinkie at some point. But not now.
