I will be alone on Valentine's day. In fact, I haven't been in a relationship for over a year and a half now.

I don't care too much about it.

I dislike Valentine's Day, because I feel it cultivates an unhealthy attitude towards relationships. It gives the suggestion that you should only consider this one day as special, and that you shouldn't have to work on your relationship or spend special amounts of time with your partner(s) any other day of the year. So frankly, whether or not I am single on Valentine's Day is irrelevant to me, because I don't consider it worthy of celebration.

I will be spending some of the evening with some fellow pony fans. We're going to be eating dinner and then going go-kart racing.

A friend of mine doesn't celebrate valentines day, he tries to ignore it. He told his girlfriend that and she responded by baking him a cake that read "Happy Everyday"

That story always made me tear up a bit and I thought "Man, they are just perfect to each other" I happily await the day when I have that. I know I'll find that very special someone somewhere, perhaps somewhere strange... a particular forum board perhaps? a bus? Somewhere shouting on the rooftops?! Who knows but I am sure I will and things will be awesome then. However in the mean time I still have all my friends and Boozahol to pass the time :D. Forever alone, Forever abrone! (I hope that came out right, lack of sleep makes for cool stories...)

Been in one relationship, and ever since then, I sincerely believe "falling madly in love" is terribly overrated http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

I plan on making friends and letting friendships develop over years into something really deep, before moving into the other kind of love.

I just love everyone, though :D

I'm very, very jelly.

So, I built a Co2 rocket skateboard once. The thing used compressed co2 to launch it at maybe ~15 mph tops.

Now I'm fantasizing about plugging it into a water tank to add reaction mass, and make a rocket Gokart (out of plywood for lightweight) B)

(Whether that fantasy becomes reality like the skateboard rocket did, depends on how things go with a certain connection of mine in steel manufactering. I need a big 1000 psi water tank. He might have something for that...)

I would love to race gokarts with that thing. Though the exhaust stream behind it will be a narrow high-speed jet of water, probably ice or with icecles in it. So, stay clear of that XD (at close range, I guesstimate enough force to tear up a PVC pipe. So, yeah.)

I'm only posting cuz I'm alone IRL. But ofc, you all know I have a very special somepony. <3

I'll be attending a Physiology lecture (course's full name is Integration of Hormonal and Nervous Signals). And Biochem if I feel like it, though that's one of the courses I had taken and passed last year.

I see where you're coming from. But really, it's the way people do things that is messed up.

Days like these (including X-mas, Thanksgiving, Mother's/Father's Days...) were meant to be REMINDERS of positive concepts and good traditions. The concepts always exist and should be practiced throughout the year, traditions must be respected unless they're way out-of-date.

That's why

I never paid attention to Hearts and Hooves.

But for those who don't like to make an effort throughout the year, and for those who can't because of professional, health etc. obstacles, these special days are occasions to do good things for a change. To show care for people they love, to feel thankful of things they don't tend to think about it so much... Edited by Derth Fader the Ponith

So basically the days should be considered as merely reminders of traditions that exist, not obligations to uphold such traditions to the point of tiring them out. That...makes perfect sense to me, I like that :3 I'll think it that way from now on.

Also I'm new and I dunno who this special somepony is, but mazel tov! <3

I agree with some of this. Some.

The parts I do agree with is that it shouldn't be the day where you act all lovey dovey and special just because it is Valentines.

I show my love every single day to my girlfriend, and Valentines will be no different.

It will just bring a gift, because it is just the tradition that is the norm in my life.

But I act like this everyday, so it is not much different.

^Yep.^

Gamer, what's "mazel tov" mean? Never heard of that one, but I'm guessing it's something like "good luck" or "congrats".

In any case, thanks.

And you'll probably find out who my special somepony is, tomorrow, when I post my gift in the art section and he replies.

Will be alone this year, like the usual. Not too bad though, I'm a person who generally enjoys solitude. Like some of you talked about gokarts, I would go drifting in a parking lot with my mate, but his car's not in a drivable condition right now. So yeah, just an usual Tuesday.
