How much can you handle gross stuff?

Yeah, I'm alright with that sort of thing. A big part of that I reckon is from what I regularly prepare, cook and eat. Brains, kidneys (gotta love the distinct urine smell of frying lamb kidneys in the morning), livers, tongues, hearts, head cheese, blood, stomachs, whatever. Apparently some people just find those things gross and odd. But I don't mind any type of gore at all; it absolutely fascinates me.

Well, thanks to the Internet my tolerance for disgusting stuff has grown higher. That doesn't mean I like it...There's some downright disturbing stuff on the internet, but everyone knows that

For me, I can handle blood and gore if it's in a games like Resident Evil and The Last of Us. If it's in films like Final Destination and Saw, then I'd be outta the room faster than a Sonic Rainboom.

I can handle gross stuff surprisingly well that doesn't mean I'm a fan of it though. I can cope with things like video game blood and gore but if it's from a horror movie I tend not to watch it.

I have generally a pretty good "resistance" towards gross stuff. The only few things I can't stand is puking, for example. I get the same reaction when I hear/smell/see someone puking... Ugh D:

but other gross stuff I can handle~

Typically I have a very high tolerance for gross things. I could be watching a horror movie and not even flinch, knowing that its just a movie. Or be watching some ER surgery show. But when it comes to real-world blood and gore (like watching someone get shot), I'm scarred for life ;_;

I mean, I can skin a deer without even flinching but if someone has horrible BO I have to try VERY hard to hold in the gags as to not be rude....

I know there is a limit to what I can handle/deal with. The question is not where, but why?

For example, seeing a bad cut, and blood. Totally fine! Right?

Seeing a human body being hit by a car at slow speed, but still hear the body..... No it is just on another level.

Yes I know it is not gross, like gory gross. But I think it has an emotional attachment to it, that makes it unbearable.

I kinda saw that IRL. Or saw and heard it. The sound....

I do faint from seeing my own blood drawn, or at least I think I will. I am not taking any chances

I’ve read some pretty gorey horror novels. I’ve watched some horror movies and played some horror video games.

However when it’s real life it’s different. It would depend on what I’m seeing as to how well I handle it.

Lol I wouldn't say that stuff fascinates me! It's just more like those are the steps that must be taken getting an animal from the field to the dinner plate! Also I had no idea that frying kidneys smell like urine, I guess it makes sense since the kindeys are what process waste into urine.

It really depends on what is meant by gross stuff. Gore and large quantities of blood, even in fiction at times, makes me squeamish, and the smell of decaying biomatter (whether it be $#!+ or a dead body) really bothers me. But I can handle it... to a degree. Anxiety is a b!tc# you know.

Though BO can sometimes be a different story. :sealed:
