A small helpless voice sounded through the trees

 

"Help somepony help!"

 

Silver ignored the call,slumping down into his mud bed.

 

'"I'll just wait here til I can use my wings again!" he said, to nopony in particular. "Who needs anypony else!"

 

((OOC feel free to abandon him for a while.))

Cinder swung the sword at the undergrowth, watching as it cut uselessly through air without doing any real damage. The scream didn't sound like anypony she knew, so it was as good a lead as any as to which direction to head.

 

"Foals and backstabbers, I'll finish this, get away from here and not need to see any of them again..." She hissed angrily to herself, shuddering.

 

She swung again and this time, more by accident than design, found the angle to cleave through some of the plants.

 

"This way then, find whoever that was and sort out this mess..."

 

She stumbled and tripped clumsily though the forest, confident, but no more skilled than she had ever been.

" We can't just leave Silver here! It's the friggin Everfree, nopony should be alone!" Lyona exclaimed. She flew to the ditch and tried to pull Silver up, but it was futile. He was too heavy, and the mud was too thick.

 

 

(You guys have to drag her along with you, Mikestar asked that that happens.)

"We don't have time for this... He'll be fine down there untill he remembers that he can fly, but she's the only one of us that can at the moment..." Red muttered to Impetus and Minty.

 

"And, if he continues to act in this way, he will only impede our search."

 

He looked up at Lyona.

 

"Madame, I might have an idea, come here a moment, if you will?"

Silver Note ignored Lyona and sulked where he was not saying a word to anypony.

The flutter of wings could be heard above Cinderblock as she hacked through the undergrowth.

 

"You know, you're really making a huge mess of the bush there" Said a female voice. "and my may be Derpy Hooves... but you cooooooooooooould just take the path over there" 

 

Derpy pointed to a nearby, very clear, animal track going the exact same direction. She gave Cinder a big grin.

EDIT: ((OMG I just have this hilarious image in my head now of Cinder hacking away at the undergrowth and there is a wide path right next to her Then she looks up and goes ... "oh!")))

Lyona frowned, but quickly fluttered to Redwave. She quickly folded her wings, and looked at him. " Yes? What is it?"

 

I do hope Silver snaps out of it, I don't want to leave anypony alone. Lyona thought, thinking of the silver pegasus. She shook her head and focused on Redwave again.

"Repay me? Oh no that won't be necesarry..." he started to say to Minty as Impetus was brought back onto solid land. "... Perhaps you might treat me to your company when we..."

 

He trailed off looking up into the sky

 

"That... Did not sound like one of our number. We should investigate, we may be needed... Though what would do with our 'friend' here?"

(( OOC: All I could do is mobile today. ))

 

Minty nodded, looking down at the grey Pegasus in the ditch. She breathed out to herself, "I can help. Not like I'd be any help, anyway..." She listened to Redwave's and Lyona's conversation while she silently insulted herself.

As Lyona descended to ground level, Redwave sidled close to her conspiringly and pointed towards the ditch where Silver was trapped, tensing as he did.

'Here goes nothing. We don't have time for games like this, we nearly lost Minty and I'm not risking another. Hopefully the others wont think that I'm turning on them or anything to that effect...'

"Lyona, we need to find Cinderblock and whoever it was the screamed. Silver can look after himself here while we..."
 
Without warning, he launched himself at the pegasus, attempting to drive her to the ground, hoping against hope that the other two would realize what he was doing, or at least trust him enough to go along with it.
 
"Minty! Rope, quickly!"

"What are you doing here?" The brown mare asked, secretly thankful of somepony to talk to as she found her balance again and set off down the trail. "It's not safe. Why would you come out here to find me?"

Derpy smiled at Cinder wondering if she'd had a nice trip!

 

"Oh don't feel bad" She told Cinder. "That happens to me all the time!" She patted Cinder on the back reassuringly " I think perhaps you ought to sheath that weapon. Very dangerous around two mares like us." She put her hoof around Cinders neck with a grin. 

"I'm the mailpony. Derpy Hooves at your service" She gave her best curstsy which ended up as a 

 

She picked herself up with a slight "oops. It's amazing how slippery this moss can be. Well anyway, I came to give you this..."

 

She indicated a package which contained supplies. "But then I heard this horrible scream in the forest! and i got really worried and...

 

Derpy paused looking at Cinderblock with a wall eye'd stare "Where's Silver?"

 

---------------------meanwhile------------------

 

Back in the ditch Silver Notes head was starting to thunder! As if he had the worst hangover ever.

 

"Gah... my head!" he said holding his head. "for that matter, ouch, my wings, my legs my tail! What the hay just happened?" He glanced up noticing that everypony had disappeared over the edge of the ditch. Silver Note tested his wings, flapping them wildly... and...

 

"We have lift off!" He said triumphantly landing at the edge of the ditch to find that everypony had wandered off somewhere.

 

."great!" he thought. "Now I'll have to catch up and try to explain and hope they understand." he surveyed the ground for tracks...

 

Just at that moment... a dark shadow pounced on Silver pinning him to the ground like a little bird being preyed on by a cat.

 

"Can't have you doing that now can we?" Said an evil voice. Silver struggled to no avail, then felt himself being lifted in the jaws of some unseen foe and carried away.

 

((OOC Ok the drama begins! Last boss on the horizons, find the pink voice to continue. dun dun dah!))

Lyona struggled against Redwave. " What do you think you're doing?" She snarled, trying to buck him off. " If you don't let go of me right now, I swear I'll-"

 

She stopped mid sentence to see Silver being pulled away.

Redwave felt the struggling stop far earlier than he had expected: even without having to explain his actions. Following Lyonas gaze, he caught a brief glimpse of something moving away from the ditch before it was quickly hidden behind the leaves above him.

"Oh... that is... not good..."
 
He dropped the vines.

"Uh... he was somewhere back there..." She waved the sword dangerously back towards the camp: she hadn't gotten far thanks to her inability to cut through the foliage.

 

Sliding the sword back into one of the belts sheepishly, she slumped down.

"... yelling about how he hates us all, how he doesn't want anything to do with me us..."

 

What was is about the wall eyed pony that seemed to inspire so much trust? Anypony else out here and she would think they were crazy...

Lyona slipped away from Redwave, still staring at the sky. She looked back at the earth pony, determination in her eyes. " I'm going to go chase them! Red, you go and gather the others. If... " Lyona paused for a second. "If I don't come back, go to the castle of the Royal Pony Sisters. The thing seems like it's heading there."

 

Without another word, Lyona shot up into the sky and flew after Silver.

He dropped the vines and looked at the other two hopelessly for guidance. They were already missing Fireblaze and Cinder, now Silver and Lyona were gone... He looked towards the route that had been poorly hacked into the forest.

 

"Well... We know where one of them is... and it looks to go in the same direction that Lyona went. Lets start there."

Minty scoffed, her whole coat grey. "Pfft. What and ever." She trotted up ahead, pausing to kick dirt into Silver's muzzle. She went up to a tree and punched down a tree, trotting around to find the others. "WHERE ARE YOU!?" She shouted with a smirk on her face. "We need to find you," she snickered to herself.

"Wait a minute... Silver said that?" Derpy shook her head a minute. "Well that's not the Silver *I* know." Derpy,in no particular hurry, sat down on the wide clear path gazing at Cinderblock. 

 

"Cinder, can I tell you a true story? I met this wonderful stallion. His name is the Doctor, Well that's what everypony calls him. He was so wonderful, he cared about everypony and would always try to help others. He was kind to me and treated me like I was somepony special."

 

Derpy stood up and moved to the badly hacked path, standing in it as she spoke. "Then one day... he completely changed. He told me he hated me and he.... " Derpy hung her head sadly at the memory.  "he even hit me. It hurt far worse on the inside than it did on the outside. I was confused and scared and I just left. He thought I'd betrayed him."

 

Derpy moved herself between the two paths. "I just didn't know what went wrong! Then I started to think about who he REALLY was... Turns out, he'd been touched by Discord, This was before Fluttershy reformed Discord. I decided to go back...just to... love him as I felt in my heart...because Cinder?"

 

Derpy moved herself back to the side of the clear path. "Despite everything I still forgave him and saw his true colors." 

 

Time seemed to have no urgency to the wall eyed mare. Despite the situation they were in, she took the time to sing a song.

 

 

 

Derpy sat waiting for Cinderblock to take it all in. 

 

((OOC this is a sneak peek of a video I'm currently working on with a brony-sister friend. She's singing the brony version and we are going to add some voice acting to it.))

((No worries, I probably didn't word my parts properly to be honest.))

 

 

 
"Minty?" Redwave said in surprise as he spluttered on the dirt. "What in the name of... your coat, its..."
 
He felt his stomach sink. He had seen her like this before and he hadn't enjoyed it then, before he knew her. Now...
 
'Bad things come in three's Cap'n!' He remembered the saying that Kingfisher had always used. It seemed relevant somehow, much as he hated that phrase.
 
"Minty... What happened to you?"

 

He took an apprehensive step after the darkened pegasus: he wanted to reach out for her but didn't dare get close for fear that she would lash out like he had seen her before - If she did, how was he supposed to defend himself against something he couldn't bring himself to harm?

"..." Cinder wasn't quite certain for a moment whether she was more touched by the song and story, or surprised by the sheer amount of singing that seemed to happen in the Everfree.

 

She settled on touched.
 

"When I said you didn't need anypony, I meant anypony. This one will only let you down like the rest. What? Tell you a sob story and you go back to cowering and letting others look after you?" Her mindvoice chimed.

 

Scraping at the ground with a hoof nervously.

"... I guess your right. Maybe. I don't know." She said. "I hate this place, I just want to get this done and leave."

 

"You don't need to cower! You don't need them!"

 

'I've got to go back.'

 

Derpy was still sat watching her as she struggled with her internal debate. Cinder broke into a half smile.

 

"I think I understand." She said, slowly nodding. "I think... I have to leave now. Thank you."

"Wait!" Derpy said. "I can come with you..... I'm worried about him too. He's a good friend."

Silver struggled against the chain around his fetlock. He tried flying upwards and was caught with a *snap* from the chain yanking him back down. He was in a clearing that was surrounded by thick brambles all around. Several timber wolves paced the area and in the center of them was a large black wolf with frightening glowing green eyes.

 

"Who are you?" he asked the large dark wolf like creature "What do you want with me?"

 

"So many questions" It growled menacingly.  "I don't owe you any answers, captive!" it said. But since it was a proud creature that just loved to brag he said...

 

"Very well, I am... Gmork! and you are my bait. Your friends are foolish enough to try and rescue you despite all. They will step right into my perfect little TRAP!"

 

Gmork then went to the edge of the clearing and stuck his head out through the brambles calling out in a soft sweet voice...

 

"Help...I need help.. somepony pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaase"

 

Then in a voice that matched Silver Notes, the Gmork said "We need help... We're under attack!"

 

Then he turned to the timber wolves around him.

 

" Get prepared! You useless lot!"

 

 

 

surprised by the sheer amount of singing that seemed to happen in the Everfree.  

 

 

Even the Gmork couldn't resist the allure of the forest.

Redwave darted after Minty. "Yes. Stuck with me. So you had better get used to the idea. I don't know whats happened to you, but your not the pony I know..." He raised voice shook slightly as he raised it, unsure how to approach the situation.

 

There didn't seem to be any easy way out, and he still had to deal with finding the others. He had already lost four of them, he wasn't going to let Minty go again. "Get back here before I drag you back!"

Furious with himself for not stopping her, he kicked a rock into the forest.

 

'What now? Report back, tell them what I know and take my pay? Kingfisher should have the ship ready by now...'

 

He snorted in contempt at allowing the thought to pass through his mind: he wasn't above doing so, but he had no intentions of abandoning any of these ponies he had come to travel with. 

 

'Not even the musical foal...' He muttered with the shadow of a smirk flickering across his features.

Gmork leaves his timber wolves in charge of the prisoner and sneaks into the area, watching Minty and Redwave fight.

 

"Well isn't this just delightful" He thinks to himself wickedly. "and I didn't even have to do anything this time. These fools  will be easy to take down. Then all the power will be MINE!" he gave a particularly evil laugh.

 

((why is it tht villians always have so much fun and laugh more than the good guys??? I have trouble watching this video with out laughing. Oh Ps. The villian is still the Gmork not this guy... vid is purely for the laugh effect.)))

Minty could've flew all day if she didn't have a feather cut off one wing. She quickly lost her balance and crash landed in front of Redwave. "Guess I'm still grounded. I'm still watching you, though." She scoffed, trotting up ahead, ignoring Redwave completely. "What the heck do you mean by 'get me back,' though?" Minty asked suspiciously.

Mixed feelings: those would have been the words he would have used to describe his feelings as be saw Minty come crashing to the ground. He was happy to find that she could not fly away yet distraught at seeing her fall. Relieved to have at least a chance to talk to her yet terrified that he might not be able to help.

 

"What do I mean?!" He hissed through clenched teeth. "I mean, dear Minty. That this pony in front of me is not the one that I chose at the mirror pool. Not the one who's blood covered me as I tried to save her after a Timber Wolf... "

 

Why was he talking to this copy of Minty? He didn't know. He didn't need to justify himself, but felt that he should.

 

"You are not the Minty I care for, but I will find the true you, I promise you this. I will find the Minty I care for, and nothing your spiteful tongue can say will change that. Now, are you going to come with me...? Or do I have to drag you?"

 

He blinked away a tear: this was neither the time nor the place to discuss any of this.
