Rainbow rolled her eyes at Stone. "If it was more than that, don't you think I'd be getting a lot more jealous? I don't care what he does, as long as he doesn't try to kill Swordpoint or something." She stood up slowly and yawned. "Speaking of, I'm going to go check on him before I go to bed. See you guys later." She exited the mess hall and made her way above deck to find Swordpoint silently steering the ship.

Swordpoint looked over at Rainbow. "We may need to dock within the next few days. I must speak with Crimson regarding the status of our supplies, and I must also check the charts to find the nearest port."

Rainbow sighed. "Look, are you gonna come to bed soon? I get kinda lonely sleeping alone, now..."

Swordpoint shook his head. "I cannot. The last time I trusted my magic to steer the ship, we lost a crew member to sirens. I will sleep when we dock."

sole sighed and facepalmed as he realized that swordpoint had gone above deck "crap... well, to the deck!" He said sarcastically, as he quickly flew upstairs. As he arrived, he landed in front of swordpoint and grinned "hey swordpoint... fight. Now." He said challengingly "let dash take the wheel, we need to do this fight now!" He said eagerly, as he got in a fighting stance.

Rainbow groaned. "Here we go..."

Swordpoint shrugged. "Well... I suppose it couldn't hurt." He flew down to the main deck and flexed his wings. "The first to yield or lose consciousness is disqualified, I suppose." He flapped his wings and lifted himself gently off of the deck, where he floated several feet above it. "I am ready when you are."

He said with a large grin, before flying with an insane burst of speed right in front of swordpoint, and kicking at his head in an attempt to knock him into the ground "let's get this party started!" He said excitedly. Edited by drocsid-soahc

(I definitely didn't expect that. Lyth has a weapon: this'll be interesting)

She wordlessly picks up the sword with her magic. The moment it begins to lift of the ground her eyes flash, and then glow faintly purple-blue, though she doesn't notice. She sits and brings the blade to her hooves, rubbing it between her hooves. She shakes her head, as if coming out of a trance, "Yes, um, those terms are fine. Sorry, the um, the last time I was given a blade was when I was named a priestess. It's one of the better memories I have," she adds with a nervous laugh.

Altair chuckles, "I doubt you were expecting this but consider it a thank you for the amulet you made for us. I didn't know you had a sword but I find that swords created for those kind of ceremonies aren't as effective in actual combat. Either way Cosmo will need some rest, but I can continue to communicate with you and help you attune the weapon properly." Cosmo nodded his agreement and gave Altair control of the illusion displaying him, then laid in the bed, saying, "Sorry Lyrh. With everything that's happened today, I'm out, see you tomorrow..."

She looks warmly towards Cosmo, smiling, "Good mid-day, Cosmo." She turns to Altair, still smiling, "It's not a sword really, more of a dagger. You were to busy with the shield to notice when I used it for it's intended purpose, but it's kept sharp and ready. Now, to be quite honest, I have a killing tool I've no idea what to do with."

Altair raises an eyebrow and nods toward the window, "As the captain said, it's late dear. Anyhow, you're right, you don't know how to use it. I do though, so I'll be teaching you. Like I said, we'll start with attuning you to the blade so it won't require significant effort to move in combat. You need some rest as well, so sword training will begin tomorrow. I'll make sure Cosmo joins you as a training partner. He's skilled with using me but has always relied on smaller blades to assist him, so this will be a new concept for him to master as well." With that, Altair began molding the magic in the blade so Lyth could mix her own magic in it, thus giving her the same control over her blade as Cosmo did with Telekinesis. Edited by TheBreech

She sighed, "Altair, I'm up until midnight at least, no matter what, unless you decide to knock me out. I have to make certain that star alignment and lunar progression are normal. Sudden changes are signs, and usually not good ones." She moved to the window and sensed an output of magic. She lent Altair some of hers, so he'd know the kind of magic he'd be having to mess with to get the blade's magic to line up. She also made a few leather straps which she used to tie the blade at a slant across her back.

Altair passed the energy into blade allowing it align itself to the energy. As Lyth was finished making her sheath, her new blade was ready for her. "Would you like to consider a name for your new sword? I can think of several nice ones but its your blade and thus, your decision."

"Yes, well, I hope you weren't looking for a creative name Altair. My dub for it is rather simple; Noctis. It means midnight." She floated the blade to her and levitated it into the sheath, a rune appearing at the entrance. It was just Noctis in the runic language she practiced. "I suppose I should leave you alone..." she mumbles, walking slowly to the bed, "But you're worry lines melt away when you're sleeping. You look rather dashing." She kisses his cheek lightly and walks away, waving good bye to Altair. She makes the journey to her room and begins her nightly activities, eventually going to bed.

(Oh lol, I thought you meant she kissed Altair)

Altair chuckles at her comment about the name. "We'll all I had was Twilight, so I think Noctis is a very good name." Watching the display of affection, Altair felt a bittersweet sensation, "I swear... If Cosmo were hanging in a trap from a ceiling, those two would look just like his parents did at first. Hehe, Always a prankster Shadowmist... I hope you're still alive... but if not and you can hear me, I'll be waking your son in a little bit to view the midnight moon as he promised." Altair got Cosmo up to watch the moon as his new duty and let him get back to sleep.

That was before she fell asleep, but she couldn't really see him do it, so there was very little interaction. She rather enjoyed the moonlight, and she enjoyed the idea that someone else on this ship was watching it with her. Since they're teaching me something... maybe I should teach them something. Like runes. If they wanted, I could give them a crash course. It's not a few weeks of study, but stars willing this trip won't be the end of our relationship.

Altair released his illusion a while ago, but instead of meditating like he normally did in place of sleep, he stayed up. Looking at the door, he was amused by Lyth's trap. "If she'd known about me I hope she wouldn't have bothered. Shimmer made a fool of Phantom enough times for me to predict these things... It would be interesting to watch a courtship between those two, and it would certainly end much less tragically... The sun will rise soon but I might as well rest for awhile. I wonder how well Lyth will take to her new weapon..."

I suppose I probably shouldn't touch those, again...

just as sole was about to collide with the deck, he flipped around in the air and landed on his hind legs, before pushing off of the deck like a springboard and slamming headfirst into swordpoint like a torpedo. "Hehe, ya fight like crimson, this is gonna be awesome!" He said cheerfully.

Swordpoint tumbled through the air, easily righting himself with his wings. He had already sized up Sole mentally. Swordpoint could tell that Sole was skilled, and that he was strong. However, he also seemed very overconfident. A small smirk came to Swordpoint's face, and he rushed toward Sole. He turned down at the last moment, landed on the deck, and fired a stunning spell up at Sole.

Lyth woke up and stretched, the rolled out of bed. "My following has a long tradition of warrior preistess, Lyth."

"Lady Night?" she shakes her head and immediately mangles herself in the cross-legged positioning, closing her eyes.

"You seem surprised. You know the pendants for talking to me during the day, even if you do use it like a battery.

"Of course, Miss, but I was not expecting it. You normally chose your communications with me... carefully."

"Selytheria, if I handed you everything you would not learn the values and virtues found in earning and learning. Lyth's eyes flashed briefly with magic. The purple of her irises melted down to a silver appearance, and certain things seemed to glow to her; her amulet, her sword, her herbs, and her moonshine were especially bright. She touched her amulet and felt the flow of power much more easily than usual. The sunlight coming through her window also seemed dimmer, and felt like it was avoiding her. She was unsure how to feel about this, but decided to carry on as normal. Putting on her cloak, amulet, and strapping on her sword, she took a swig of moonshine and tried to ignor the glow of nightly-charged objects. She decided to see if Cosmo was awake yet. Upon approaching his door, she found that her runes were glowing to her as well. She shook her head and opened it, noticing that Altair glowed quite differently then everything else. While the lunar-charged magics were silver, the soul-sword was white. She bounced a conciousness connection from Cosmo's subconscious to the sword.

"Good morning Altair."

as swordpoint flew at him, sole smirked, but he was a little suprised when he darted down at the last moment. Sole cursed as he saw the stunning spell coming at him. He quickly created a barrier of magic around himself at the last moment "damn..." he muttered, as he lowered the shield and smiled at swordpoint "hehe... didn't know you could use magic too, this just got interesting!" He said happily, as he quickly flew at swordpoint and kicked him into the mast.

Swordpoint teleported himself before impacting the mast, reappearing behind Sole. He leapt into the air, flipped forward, and brought his legs down on Sole's back. "Interesting. I was not aware that griffons are capable of magic. I must ask... what do you use as your medium for the magical energy?"

(OoC: Translation: What does Sole use to actually cast the magic? Swordpoint and Rainbow use their wings.

"Well, I kinda just focus the magic into the part of my body I wanna summon it. Its sorta like an electric current I guess." He said with a shrug, before throwing swordpoint away from him "and I see you've had military training too... where'd you learn yours?" He asked.

((Sole is basically like a homonculus. He was made by discord out of chaos magic, and can focus that into attacks and such. But his magic is much stronger around chaotic events, that way its not feeding off of his life energy))

Swordpoint jumped to his hooves and spread his wings. He used them like propellers, rushing Sole with blazing speed. When Swordpoint neared Sole, he quickly flapped his wings forward, stopping himself instantly and sending out a powerful gust of wind. "From a twisted land called Ponynesia. "Good morning Lyth," the two said in perfect unison, "I'm sorry about that." Altair's eyes glowed briefly and Cosmo shook his head, "Altair needed my help and magic to reinforce and muffle the room for training. It will prevent any of our strikes from damaging the ship." Altair stepped forward and said, "I may or may not need to work on several things with you so let's start with a simple test. I want you to hit Cosmo with Noctis. Stab or slash, he's enchanted to prevent the blade from penetrating his skin without great force." Cosmo grinned and said, "A spell that also can help muffle my hoof steps. I'm calling it Shadow Hide, seems like a decent name for both effects." Altair smiled and said, "Remember Cosmo, this is sword training, we can discuss magic while you're both resting. Alright Lyth, go ahead and strike," as his guardian spoke, Cosmo lifted Altair in a defensive stance.

Lyth nodded and thought about her sword. It was a slightly curved blade, made for a draw. It was also sharp, and slender. If I said that out loud, a pony could make a quip about it being similar to me, though I do not believe I am often very sharp. Her eyes began to glow, as well as the runes trapping her magic in the blade. She drew it and slashed at Cosmo with a swift, fluid motion.

Swordpoint reassessed Sole. But that would mean that he is over one thousand years old... How can it be possible? "How have you walked this earth for so long? That is certainly not the natural lifespan of a griffon..." He  spread his wings and glowed bright gold briefly before conjuring ice beneath Sole, freezing his talons to the deck.

(OoC: Well, a little note about Swordpoint is that he can cast bigger and stronger spells when he has time to gather up energy beforehand. To do that, he has to spread his wings first. He can cast spells in a snap, but doing that uses up his body's energy.)
