Crimson thought for a moment but eventually shrugged, "well...I don't know exactly...but if I had to put a number on it, I would say about two or three days, and that's assuming we don't run into anymore trouble...but who am I kidding, trouble will probably find US soon enough..." said crimson with a sigh.

"Yeah you are probably right..." Equinox sighed as he looked at the sea. "I want to have a chance at this Umbra person...he peeks my interest to the point where I want to see how strong he really is" Deranged said. "Fine...its not like you will die in my body if you try to fight him"

Cosmo woke up in his room, the crew must've left him there. He got up with a mild headache but otherwise feeling great. Heading to the kitchen, he got some food from Coral who seemed too tired to say much more than pleasantries. He got an extra plate and went to Lyth's room. She seemed asleep so he just placed the food on her bedside table and sat down to meditate his headache away at the foot of her bed.

Lyth woke up, feeling alone. She couldn't remember why she was alone; she wasn't supposed to be alone anymore. She started breathing faster, and reached for her neck. As soon as she found it was empty, she remembered she'd given her pendant to Altair. She began to calm down, and looked around the room. She quickly found Cosmo and blushed, saying, "Umm, Cosmo? Don't tale this the wrong way, but can you give me my amulet back? I'd really appreciate it."

Cosmo woke up from his meditation a bit confused (this during his coma mode). "The amulet? The one you made or the one that came from my initiation?" Altair spoke up, his voice clear to both of them, "Actually, she means another one she used to communicate with me." Cosmo glanced at his sword, half surprised he'd brought it with him. "Oh, I see," he removed the amulet and hovered it back to it's place around Lyth's neck. "Lady Night seemed surprised to sense me instead of Lyth on the other end of that," Altair commented, unaware Lyth was now attuned to and could hear him.

"That is because this amulet is attuned to me, my energies, and my head. If a pony knew what they were doing, they could attempt to possess me through the amulet. It's also a symbol of my station, and something that I keep very close to my heart. If it were ever lost or destroyed... That would be bad."

Altair replied after a moment of stunned silence, "...You can hear me? Without me touching the amulet? That's interesting, I never would expected it to attune to me... Whatever the case, I hope you're not in any trouble with Lady Night, but for now, I must focus on something, so we'll speak later Lyth." With that, Altair withdrew into the sword to focus on preparations to teach Cosmo Shadow Rend, the legendary technique of the Shadesteel bloodline.

Cosmo walked over and gave Lyth the meal, cooled, but still warm. "How are you feeling?" he asked, as sat on the edge of her bed.

Lyth frowns at Cosmo, "I feel like I got kicked in the head and then plugged into an outlet. Same way I normally feel after burning out. But if you ever. EVER. Pull some idiotic stunt like yesterday, I will smack you so hard you won't see straight for a week. What were you thinking? There were plebty other ponies just as able to carry me. Dash once carried three ponies at once, and there's no way I weigh more than a Wonderbolt!" She leaned over and pulled him into a hug, "You're an idiot." She was hiding a small smile.

"Well, if that happens when we fight Umbra, go ahead. Right now, my schedule is clear till Hearts and Hooves day. My magic kicks out with my consciousness, and I knew my usefulness was over when I took a nap on the beach... Wait which idiot stunt are you referring to? Flying into a sea monster's brain, using magic with a collar that threw my spells completely into randomness, or getting swallowed by a Hydra so I could burst out of it's stomach to kill the thing, or catapulting myself and two others into the air then flying the three of us to another island? Because after all that, letting myself burn out wasn't even noteworthy." Before Lyth could respond, Cosmo kissed her, happy to be with her again.

(What can I say? Cosmo is my Ponysona, and I AM an idiot most of the time. Not reckless, but I do some stupid things. ;) )

(My ponysona would probably idolize that)

Lyth was about to yell, "You did WHAT?" when he kissed her. She blushed, having been stunned at first, and kissed him back, drawing his head in so she could kiss him right. When they broke, she was blushing hard, and was about to say something when a noise came from her stomache. The tips of her ears managed to turn red from the embarrassment that caused. "You, uhh, I think you mentioned food?"

Cosmo grinned and hoofed (*shrugs*) her the plate he'd brought, then began speaking, "You know what I love about Telekinesis and blades? They're so simple and so useful. You know my fighting style is usually high risk high reward, so adaptability is a must for me. When I first left my clan, and even after Luna taking me in, I had a deathwish. It drove to do reckless things that could get me killed, but still do what Luna needed me to. As time went on, I got over the deathwish, but rather than abandon my recklessness, I got good at it. My opponents usually can't touch me because I've learned to survive living on the edge, and developed the ability to adapt to my situations quickly and effectively. I just want you to know that while I am reckless, I am in a way that keeps me as safe as I can be. It's scary to watch, but I won't die Lyth, especially not now that I have you."

She sighed, and ate her food quickly. "It is clear to me you haven't been listening to your sword until recently. He probably would've suggested a low-risk, high-reward fighting style that would be preferable to the current one. But, what you have is working for you, so go for it, I suppose..." She thought for a moment, and then gestured to a corner of the room, where there was a book shelf. Her eyes flashed, and one of the books floated over, as if carried by a pony already loaded down with rocks. Of course, it was also at least 1000 pages long. The title read, 'Runes.' She levitated over a quill and a sheet of paper, and put it on a nearby desk. "So, now that we have some free time... How does some learning sound to you?"

Cosmo perked up, clearly interested in learning about runes. "I was particularly annoyed by that kraken's interruption yesterday. I'm ready to learn if you're ready to teach," he said as he trotted over to the desk and looked at the book. "Looks thick, but it has to contain diagrams of runes right? So a lot of its thickness will be pictures." Altair could be heard laughing at that, muffled like he was in another room.

"Actually, this one is mine," she grins, opening the book. Inside were hundreds of squares, neatly organized with the rune, the name of the rune, and the meaning. "You're first lesson will be making a Rune book. It's more difficult than it sounds, and it requires magic. It's your personal book, though, and will be organized in a way that makes the most sense to you. Now, if you'll go in the corner with the desk over there, you'll find 50 sheets of paper, a cover, and a binding. Grab those, and bring them to me.

(I have to make a 200 character post about grabbing school supplies. You can go ahead and assume Cosmo did what you asked and move on in the future. 130 down, 70 to go.)

Cosmo hovered them over with Telekinesis, "Ok, next step?" he asked Lyth quite patiently.

"Now I search through my own book to find the naming rune. Yes, here... Alright, I want you to put your book together, and then say 'jiao'. (Gee ow) What ever appears is your name in runes." She looks away from him, as if she were studying the blinds. He gets the feeling that, for whatever reason, she was trying to not look at the cover of his book.

Cosmo nodded and put the book together, unaware that Lyth wasn't watching. "Jiao," he said, and was unusually mesmerized by the blue light that faded into silvery runes on the cover of the book. He recognized they weren't of any alphabet or language he knew, but even without Lyths explanation, he could read it clearly as his name. "Done. Will I be copying runes in your book or filling these pages some other way?" he asked Lyth.

She fished around with her hoof until she found his book cover. It changed into the common tongue and read 'Cosmo's Runes.' "It will fill it's self as you learn more and more. It won't necessarily look like mine; I've seen books that looked like random scribbles. The carriers of those books seemed to handle them fine though. Open it up, and you'll see the two runes for your name, and the rune for runes in general. If I were you, I'd stay away from using any of those, especially in magic. Now, there's a writing pad around here somewhere..." she says, digging through her cloak. "Aha! Here," she adds after a short period of time. She hands it to him and instructs him to pick up the quill. Her eyes flashed, and a rune appeared in the top right corner. Underneath, it read 'ignis' and the word 'fire' appeared under that. Next to it was a stroke-by-stroke instructional on how to write it. "Don't worry if you don't get it on the first time. It won't be the strokes, or the writing that'll be hard, either. It'll be the getting it in your head bit. After that, it'll be in your book."

(OoC: Well, if Cosmo and Lyth are quite done feeling each other up, let's get on with this, shall we?)

Sworpoint steered the ship calmly, watching the sea rise and fall around the ship. He turned to Crimson and smiled. "We are still alive, despite his efforts. I trust that we shall be easily be capable of ending his tenure in this plane. Although..." He seemed to stare off into the distance. "I wonder if he could be saved. If perhaps there is at least an ounce of goodness within him."

Rainbow gave him a strange look. "Why are you talking about saving him? This guy wants us dead!"

Swordpoint closed his eyes. "... I forgot myself upon that strange island. I killed ponies who did not deserve death. I hope now that I may save Umbra from his corruption, at least. I will certainly attempt to do so, regardless of what the others say."

Equinox was listening in on what Swordpoint just said and sighed. "Swordpoint there isn't an ounce of good in the guy left if there is it's buried under a pile of everything" Equinox said as he looked at Rainbow Dash. "But he can still change...but it wont work" Equinox said

Cosmo copied the rune again and again, but he was clearly having trouble with the rune. He eventually got the hang of it and at last it was in his book. "Okay... Could we avoid start with more lunar or neutral runes? I'm not exactly a pyromancer," he joked, "Do you have a rune for force? Or push?" he asked, "I'm interested in those for obvious reasons," he levitated several objects in the room before setting them back down, "But I'd also like to get an idea on how different runes feel compared to spell casting."

"Patients and time, Cosmo. You will learn the four main elements first, though. These runes are practically elementary, especially considering that there is a rune for a certain type of moon that is quite literally 100 strokes. Ignis is 10. The next rune I'd have you learn is lucidous. It's for water and clarity." She taps his pad and the rune changes. (Two runes for a beginner is extremely mentally strenuous, by the way.)

Upon thinking about the next rune, Cosmo felt a bit sleepy, but he ignored it and began learning the Water rune. It was much easier for him but he felt mentally sluggish. "Um... Is it normally to feel lightheaded or... or whatever this is? Because if not..." Cosmo winced as his headache from yesterday throbbed back to life. "You failed to mention how draining this would be..." Cosmo groaned. His headache passed quickly but the fatigue did not. "I need to sit down," Cosmo said from the chair, "...or lay down whatever..."

The fatigue you're experiencing will pass quickly, but I think that's enough runes for today." She levitated her things away, leaving him his book, the quill, and the pad.
