@@Alex Kennedy,

Minath laughed.

"None of those words even sound Equestrian, so I can't compare it! One of these days I'm going to learn Gaelic so I can understand you. But I do know one phrase that took me forever to memorize. 'Ta gra agam duit' did I say it right?" (Gaelic = "I love you")

@,

Rambler smiled. "Oh, you're no fun. Can't you just make something up? Ah well." He smiled as he heard his native tongue spoken in her voice. "Actually, I always prefer 'is brea liom tu' (also translates to I love you), for that purpose. But just hearing you speak in my native language gets the message across clear enough. Thank you for taking the time to learn that."

@,

((Last post before bed.))

Rambler stared at her tongue for a while and then suddenly started laughing, although he wasn't even entirely sure himself what was so funny. "Yeah, I guess it does. Really though, I don't know that I can really convey how much those words mean to me coming from your voice. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to learn even that one phrase. Is breá liom tú ró. (I love you too.)"

@@Alex Kennedy,

((And I totally didn't stick my tongue out to see how that sounds so I could type it))

Minath blushed.

"It's nothing, really. I just want to know the best ways to make you happy, and learning that seemed to be a good choice." She said, and bit the right half of her bottom lip.

@,

Midnight waved back at Aura before getting into his room.

Midnight showed up not long after Aura was waiting. He was wearing a simple black coat as well as some goggles and some very thick socks.

"Sorry, did you wait for long?"

Midnight didn't like waiting, and he doesn't like it when he makes others wait.

((Sorry for the delayed response, I (quite ironically) was skiing all day long tongue.png))

Snowdream saw him glance at his sister and wanted to find a way to make him take his mind off her.

"You, me, ski slope, five minutes." Snowdream commanded, trotting off to her room. She closed the door behind her and went to her unpacked bags.

Hmm, what do I need for skiing... Snowdream thought to herself. She grabbed her scarf and benie and put them on. Levetating her ski's she exited her room and walked out to the ski slopes. After a minute wait she decided she could get a run in before Scorching showed up.

She clicked into he ski's and got on the chair lift. After a few minutes she reached the top and started to ski down.

She sighed at the freedom she felt whilst skiing, whilst her practiced hooves managed the slope with ease. She reached the bottom of the slope in good time, skidding to a stop, spraying powder snow over a few ponies.

Scorching looked unusually confused when Snowdream had trotted off like that... What had gotten under her hooves that made her that way? Maybe... Is she doing this on purpose to get me away from Freezing? Whatever. I need to go to the slopes...

He got up, leaving his empty cup on the table and walking out of the cafe, over to his room. Once inside, he put on the same attire that he had worn coming into the hotel, but... He didn't have any skis. He would have to rent some out in the hotel...

A few minutes later, Scorching was nearing the top of the chair lift, looking down at the slope below. Also he saw Snowdream already getting down the slope. She must've gotten a run in before he got up there. And once the lift made its way to the top, Scorching fell down, his skis hitting the snow with a crunch, and slowly started to slide down.

At first, he wasn't even moving at all, his skis stationary to the ground, no turning. This was mainly because he didn't know how to turn... That's when he saw a tree coming his way, making him jump a little, and his backleg nicking the tree. He wiped out into the snow, rolling onto down to the base and just landing a few feet next to Snowdream. He was slowly trying to get up, but thanks to his skis being slippery from the snow already, he just slipped back onto his chest.

@,

Rush chuckled. "Don't worry, it's just dinner, no strings attached. An excuse to continue a pleasant conversation, nothing more. Of course if you wanted it to be something more, well... I've never been one to say no to a pretty lady. But that's just hypothetically. All I'm asking is a pleasant dinner. I'll pay for it, of course."

Thanks to Rush causing Freezing's blush to slowly deepen, she looked down for a second, still unsure on what to do. I still don't know... He's nice enough, but... What if Scorch was right? What if he isn't trusting? Wait. Why am I believing Scorching? I'm grown enough to do whatever I want!

"You know, Rush... I would love that. Yes, I'll have a dinner with you."

Rambler nuzzled her and smiled warmly. "Well it does make me happy. Very much so. So thank you, really."

@,

Rush smiled and inwardly did a little mental victory dance. This was going surprisingly well. "Alright, great. Um... do you want to eat here, or go find somewhere else? I don't much care either way, personally."

"Um... Either place is fine. It's just that I'm not exactly hungry at the moment, and I was gonna go do some skiing afterwards... Would you want to come with me?", Freezing asked. To be honest, this was somewhat a lie. She was actually starving, but whenever she goes to do a physical activity, she always would go hungry afterwards...

Star forced her eyes away from the ground...instead she looked at the lift in front of them, only just beginning to notice Dusk's hoof around her.

She blushed and smiled slightly as she looked back down...her smile quickly faded and she looked back up to see that it was time to get off which looked slightly tricky.

She watched the ponies in front of them jump off while the lift was still moving and gulped...then it was their turn. She quickly jumped off and proceeded to fall into a pile of snow...

He leaped off, landing quite elegantly. He went over to Star and reached out a hoof to help her up. "It takes a while to get used to that. Are you okay?" he asked in a concerned tone. They were only a short walk from where they would begin skiing.

(btw, I know nothing about skiing, so "teaching" Star is gonna be difficult so I'm just gonna kinda gloss over it.)

Star nodded and took his hoof, still shaking slightly...which was good since it got most of the snow off her.

She pulled her hat off and brushed the snow off before putting it back on and looking up at Dusk. "Where d-do we go now?" She asked, looking around just in time to see someone farther up the mountain wipe out...looked like they hit a tree.

She gulped and looked around, wondering where Dusk would be taking her.

He took her by the hoof and led her, not to the slope where the pony had just crashed, but instead to a much smaller, smoother one with less obstacles. He showed her what position she needed to be in and told her how to stop and everything, showing her the ropes. "Now let's go, sweetie. Just take it easy." He pushed off and started flying down the slope (metaphorically, not literally; had to specify because he's a pegasus :P).

Star listened closely to every word Dusk said and was running through it all in her mind as she watched Dusk shoot down the hill.

She gulped and pushed off, sloooowly sliding down after Dusk...slow at first.

A moment later she started picking up speed and quickly turned like how Dusk instructed. She went down the hill in a very sloppy zig zag pattern, nearly falling several times...until she made it to the bottom where she stood stiff, still shaking. She looked around to see the hill and let out a sigh of relief. "I did it." She muttered, leaning against a nearby tree.

"You did it!" Dusk exclaimed, hugging her around the middle, lifting her up and spinning her around before setting her down again. "I knew you could do it, Star!" He smiled brightly at her, giving off a sense of pride and passion. "Wanna go again, sweetie?" he asked her.

@,

Rush nodded. It was pretty much inevitable that he was going to end up going skiing eventually, it might as well be with a mare as attractive as her. "Sure. That sounds like fun. I haven't been skiing in a really long time. What about you? Something tells me you're a real pro at skiing."

She was beginning to kinda like Dusk...at first he seemed like an obnoxious stallion who did nothing but flirt...but he was actually kinda nice. "Should we go to one of the bigger hills?" She asked.

Aura grinned sheepishly as she noticed that Midnight had ski goggles, but smiled normally at his question.

"No, not very long. Just got down here two, maybe three minutes ago."

She continued to walk outside, adjusting her toque.

"So... I don't have any ski gear. What about you?"

"That's good."

Midnight walked alongside Aura.

"Me neither, but I could just create it out of thin air if I wanted to. We could also rent some gear on the way there."

He was silent for a couple of seconds and seemed like he was deep in thought.

"Do you think it'd be better to take lessons or learn it ouselves?"

"I'll just rent some gear." Aura said as they kept walking. They exited the lodge, and she opened her wings slightly, feeling a sudden gust blow through her feathers. She loved the feeling of the wind through her feathers, and a happy smile grew on her face.

Aura thought for a moment at his question. She thought it would be fun to just figure it out with him,, but she didn't want to come across as desperate or something. But then, Aura Feather wasn't the type who was shy and usually didn't back out of things she wanted to do, so she spoke, smiling at him.

"Let's just learn together. I think the lessons are expensive, and it's more fun when you're trying to figure it out for yourself."

"That's fine"

As Midnight and Aura left the building Midnight felt the wind in his face. "It's a little bit cold." He thought.

Midnight turned to look at Aura to see if she was affected by the cold but she didn't seem to mind, she even started smiling.

"Well, if she can deal with this wind it shouldn't be a problem for me either." He thought.

Midnight listened to her respose.

"Great, I don't like teachers anyway. They just force their ways of doing stuff onto you."

Both of them stopped before the rental shop.

Sparkey reached his room and opened it with his key. Inside, it was rather plain. Which was to be expected. He placed his suitcase in the corner of the room, then took a scarf out from it. Hopefully it would be enough to keep him warm. This was his first time in the snow, and he was looking forwards to it. He left his room, not sure of what to do next.

Aura wasn't sure whether she should agree or not. As far as she knew, she was around 19, so she had already graduated. She just smiled politely as they kept walking. It didn't really matter, he didn't seem to be waiting for a response.

They entered the ski gear shop, and she looked around.

"So, do you think you'll ski or snowboard?"

Star nodded and quickly followed behind Dusk...until she tripped over one of her ski's and fell face first into the snow.

She quickly pushed herself out and brushed the snow away, the fur on her face now quite wet. She sighed and pulled off her ski's before jumping up and joining Dusk, blushing slightly.

"Well, I usually never get the chance to, but when I do, I jump right on it.", Freezing said, taking what was left of her cup of ice and just chugged it down easily, taking it all in one gulp. "I wouldn't call myself a professional though, more like a advanced novice."
