How would the Equestria-"Earth" Mirror affect other species?

When ponies enter the magic portal from EqG, they turn into humans. When dragons enter, they turn into dogs (or at least that we know of). How do you think it would affect other species (griffins, zebras, donkeys, for example) that entered from Equestria? Alternatively, do you think it works in reverse? If a dog from the human world went through, would it turn into a dragon?

Here is what I think:

 

 

Griffins = Humans

Zebras = Humans

Donkeys = Humans

Dogs = Dogs

 

Dragons = not lizards?

 

That is the only thing of the movie that confused me.

I think any sentient being going from earth to equestria would show up as a pony for the most part. there might be something else that might make them show up as a griffon or dragon but that hasn't been explored.

 

is it weird how spike went from dragon to dog but maybe the portal just put him in something his own size. if spike became a human baby when crossed the portal, he couldn't very well talk and twilight would have to take care of him on top of trying to find the crown.

 

I think a dog going either way would still just be a dog

Well, my personal belief is that Spike only became a small, adorable puppy because he's a baby dragon. An actual, large dragon, might enter the human world as a wolf, or a lion perhaps, which would be disturbing in a high school.

I think that sentient beings end up ponies, and honestly I don't know if any non mythical creatures would change, maybe only creatures that can't exist in the earth world change.

 

I just can't see what something like a cow would become anyways. I can see the dog thing with dragons, expecially being mythological, but normal animals like cows and dogs I doubt would change.

 

I think whatever way it works it works both ways. So a dog would become a dragon going to Equestria.
