((OOC: Ok everypony! Now our second adventure begins! Have fun! Here's the link to the OOC thread! http://mlpforums.com/topic/63325-land-of-shadows/ ))

"Hey, look! That one looks like a muffin!”

“No, it looks more like an apple!”

“Wait! I got it! It looks like a record!”

“Hey, you’re right, Vi!”

DJ BRONI3 and his marefriend Vinyl were lying on the grass on the hill above Ponyville, looking up at the sky at the clouds. It was a beautiful summer day, perfect for sitting around and doing nothing in particular! As the two laughed and talked together, DJ looked over Ponyville, his gaze falling on the tall derelict factory that lay on the outskirts.

It brought back memories of his friends and their adventure. It had been several months since they had stopped Raven and saved Ponyville, and they hadn’t all been together again since. They had all either stayed in Ponyville or gone back to their home towns, and the thought of how long it had been since he had seen some of them saddened DJ. Vinyl noticed the sad expression on DJ’s face. “What’s wrong?” she asked him.

DJ smiled again as he looked at her. “Nothing at all!” he replied cheerfully. “How could I be sad when I’m with you?” Vinyl giggled at his compliment. DJ got up from the grass, and together he and Vinyl trotted back through Ponyville. When they came back to DJ’s house, he noticed a letter on his doorstep. He picked it up and opened the red seal on the back of the envelope. The letter was written on cream paper, with a wavy pink border and a generous amount of glitter. His face lit up as he read it:

“My friends DJ BRONI3 and Vinyl Scratch. You are cordially invited to the wedding of a lifetime. A match made in heaven: Sterling Crimson and Evening Glory.”

“Guess what Vi? We’re going to a wedding!” DJ cried.  “It’s being held in Manehattan!”

“Sweet!” Vinyl replied. “I’ll go get packed then! I’ll see you at my place in a while!”

DJ smiled and kissed her goodbye before Vinyl trotted off to her house, before DJ trotted inside. He began searching through his record collection, looking for the perfect songs to bring just in case, before packing away other essentials. As he was packing, something caught his eye. He turned and looked at his table, where the gem he had found in the labyrinth was placed on a small stand. A faint white glow was emanating from it. “It’s never done that before!” he thought. Suddenly, the faint light was gone, and DJ started to wonder if he had just been seeing things. He decided to bring it along with him, as it was one of his most beloved possessions.

He grinned as he thought of the wedding. “Finally, I’ll get to see everypony again!” he thought happily.

Coming through the last turn of the Neightona 500, Red Talon was holding off a hard-charging Brad Kestrotski. He managed to block his advance coming down to the finish line, and, with the help of friend Bale Earnhardt Jr., he crossed the finish line in first place, winning his first ever Neightona 500 at the tender age of 19.

"Yeah boys, yeah!" Red shouted with delight as he headed down to victory lane, where he was greeted by some of his familiar friends, family, and his team.

North was as usually asleep at this hour... It was midnight, and the sun still shone high in the sky. He had dug himself a tiny hole in the snow high up on one of the tall cliffs near Trotheim. Suddenly, he woke up from something moving outside.

Stepping outside, he was met with bright light, and what he believed was an envelope held out to him by a very sleepy-looking grey pegasus-mare.

"Um... Takk?" he said to her, as he grabbed the envelope with his mouth and went back into his dark little cave. Well inside, he opened the envelope and suddenly had an idea of what it was without even reading a word. It was in a language he had not used since the incident with Raven and Ponyville, and his friends on their odyssey.

Slowly adapting to read his friend's language again, he begun reading:

“My friend North Light. You are cordially invited to the wedding of a lifetime. A match made in heaven:

Sterling Crimson and Evening Glory.”

A small smile formed on his face, as he now understood that he would see them all again. Continuing reading he found out it also was being held in Manehattan. After reading, he packed a few things into a small saddle-bag, made to fit him. As he packed, he spotted a sky-blue glow coming from behind some snow. Digging it away, he found out it was the gem he had acquired during their odyssey. He had retrieved it from the hollow tree near Ponyville before leaving back home, and he had kept it around as some sort of safety-token. He was the kind to pick up at least one thing and keeping it with him for reasons not necessarily just for having it. He made sure to put it into his bag as well - who knew when he'd need the comfort of such an object.

Done with packing what little he needed, he stepped outside, once again greeted by another pony - though this time it was a small pony just a few centimetres taller than him. They begun talking:

"I understand it is summer. The air is warm, and even though it is midnight, the sun is up... But this is important to me. I will be leaving on me own. I do not have time to speak with father - the mail-mare seems to have been delayed, but I hope you can do that part for me." North said to the other, before facing the edge of the small cliff. "So... Manehattan?" he asked the other, as the other pointed in a direction. "I will return safely. I promise." North said, as he jumped off of the cliff and started gliding in the direction the other had pointed...

(OOC: *In Nigerian African accent* IT IS TIME TO GET DA ROLEPLAY STARTED. THE STEHLING IS IN DA BUILDING!! WAMBA HEYA!!!)

@Budding Night

It was nearly time. Sterling was now waving his flag of uniqueness. He fought through many adversities throughout his whole life. So much deceit, so much sadness, and so much pain. Now... the feeble, weak Sterling Crimson was proudly waving his flag to place his mark on the world. His day was near. The best day of his life. A day of triumph, a day of love, and a day of joy. Sterling was standing proudly by the window of his apartment with Evening Glory closely by his side. After many months of being stranded on many islands far from home, he was now getting ready to marry the beautiful mare by his side. He could already hear ponies from all over Equestria cheering for their glorious marriage. The rain of rice and flowers to celebrate their union, the cheers of a Sterling who miraculously survived a gun shot at his abdomen by the tyrannical Raven.

He looked around at all the invitations they made for all his friends from all corners. Manehattan, Canterlot, Ponyville, Hoofington. Pelopponysia, Appeloosa, Baltimare. It was nothing Sterling would EVER expect. The invitations were being passed out like wildfire by the courier service, frantically trying to send them all in time for the marriage in the next few weeks. As he looked around, he gave a good look at Evening's eyes, mesmerized by her beauty. He looked at her and kissed her on the lips. He then spoke, "Evening... I'm so excited about our wedding. After all we went through. I'm so excited about the glorious day. Let's make the most of it eh? Let's place our hoofs in this world as we prepare for the life ahead. We can start a garden to feed the world with healthy, fresh vegetables and provide comfort for all! I can start a clinic to take care of all sorts of ponies, sick and injured! The marriage day is not where it ends Evie. It's where it begins..."

Shortly after being congratulated for his win, and multiple interviews and celebrations later, Red took the train back to Ponyville. Upon arrival, Red found a letter in his mailbox. He opened it, and saw it was an invitation to Sterling's wedding. Despite being the youngest Neightona 500 winner, dethroning Trevor Hayne, still was upset and depressed about Neon, and wished things turned out better for him. He considered dating Applejack if Neon didn't want a marriage, but he didn't want to ruin that friendship, either.

Blue Note was learning to love the sight of her apartment building more and more each evening. As every day was, it had been a long day of performing. She wanted nothing more than to go to sleep, and forget the days behind and ahead of her. That was a luxury she could never attain, because there was still work to be done in the present. There were publishers she needed to visit with, and there were bills she had to find a way to pay.

She stepped into the building, and instead of heading straight up the stairwell to her apartment, she took a right to go to the mail room. The mailboxes were decrepit, ancient locks protecting the contents. It wasn't the first time Blue Note wondered if a resourceful pony would realize how easy it would be break into them. "Except nopony here has any mail worth stealing." She unlocked her own mailbox and levitated the mail out of it. She decided not to look until she was safely tucked away in her own apartment.

Blue Note forced herself up the two flights of stairs, and turned the corner that led to her dwelling. She unlocked her door and walked inside. Passing her mirror, she was unhappy to discover that her mane had become a complete mess over the course of the day. So much for Manehatten sophistication.

Leafing through mail was always unpleasant, so Blue Note decided to get it over with before going to work on her next piece. She set the assortment of envelopes down on her table. There was a reminder to make this month's payment to the University of Manehatten as well as a notice informing her that she had two days left to pay her rent. She pushed those to the side, deciding to take care of them the next day. The rest was mostly advertisements for things she couldn't afford, like fancy cruises and dresses. She sighed and threw them in the trash. There was one item left. The last envelope was unusual; it's quality stuck out over the typical materials used to request money. This piece of mail must be for something special.

Blue Note carefully opened it, and read the words inside:

“My friend Blue Note. You are cordially invited to the wedding of a lifetime. A match made in heaven:

Sterling Crimson and Evening Glory.”

Blue Note just buried her head on the table. It seemed like she now had the displeasure of a wedding to attend.

Clover was writing up her notes in an absent minded kind of way. She was thinking of the epic adventure she had shared with those ponies who had become her new friends, in the tropics and later on when they had battled the evil Raven in Ponyville. Clover was now back in her little house in Trottingham, tho she often went to Ponyville to visit Twilight Sparkle. The two often had meetings, as Twilight had told Clover that she would soon receive a great honour, if she continued to work hard at her spells. Clover wasn't quite ready, but that suited her just fine. Her musings were interrupted by an almighty crash outside her window.

The white unicorn sighed heavily, and opened the window. In flew a grey pegasus with mismatched yellow eyes and a blonde mane and tail. "Derpy," Clover said, trying to sound stern and yet failing to cuz the mailmare had a lot of wellmeaning charm, "Do you have to make such a noise at this time in the afternoon?"

Derpy giggled. "You have a letter, Clover." She handed Clover the letter, and Clover, smiling to herself, handed Derpy a muffin in return. Derpy took it and flew out the window, heading back to Ponyville, Clover thought. She hoped that she would get back there alright.

Clover opened the letter and read it with another smile.

"My friend Clover. You are cordially invited to the wedding of a lifetime. A match made in heaven: Sterling Crimson and Evening Glory."

Clover was excited; she decided to call on @@Steel Accord, on the way; perhaps they could go together. Clover had seen a lot of Steel after the adventure; she hoped that they could maybe one day be as happy as Sterling and Evening Glory, but after all, this was the first relationship that Clover had had and she was taking things slowly. She packed her saddlebags, deciding to leave her notes for later, and, noticing a glow coming from a drawer, removed the white jewel that DJ had given her. Clover had taken it to Rarity, who had set it into a necklace for her. Deciding that it would go well with the new dress she had packed to wear to the wedding, Clover packed the necklace as well and left the house. She would teleport to Steel's house as it was an easier way of travelling.

(Meanwhile in Manehattan University...)

While Sterling was enjoying himself at his apartment with the love of his life, the other university students were planning something... something amazing... at the university's park.

"Wow he's getting married next week?! That's crazy! We've got to do something special for him!" exclaimed a dark green stallion with a blue baseball cap. Another brown coloured Earth stallion was also in the crowd and he began to speak, "Yes indeed. I just received an invitation to their wedding next week. He was involved in so big a rollercoaster ride I'm not sure how he could possible ride out another... if you know what I mean." The other ponies laughed heartily at his joke, while a navy blue unicorn mare replied to the brown stallion afterwards, "Hey Mr. Hayfield! Aren't you going to play on the organ for Sterling's wedding?" Mr. Hayfield replied with a nod, "Yes indeed Navy. You see, I taught him in a few music classes, and he was an amazing student. The fact that he saved Manehattan from destruction made it an honour I couldn't possibly deny."

After Mr. Hayfield spoke, one of the ponies wearing a lab coat came out with a slight frown. "What's with the crowd here? And why haven't any of my students come to my cell biology class yet? It's about to start!" It was then that Mr. Hayfield replied, "Oh hey Dr. Miang. We were just talking about the marriage of one of your former students! We're planning something big for them on wedding day, so big that it'll whisk them away. It'll all happen at the reception! We'll throw him a huge tribute for him and do all sorts of partying! Oh I'm sorry. I forgot to mention the student! Remember Sterling?!"

"Oh HIM! He was the student who helped me with my studies on the insect! If it's for him, then I guess we can delay class for a few minutes or so to talk about his wedding!" Exclaimed a thoughtful Dr. Miang as the students and teachers prepared a surprise for the eventual newly-weds...

(You starterd without me :( I had even written a post ready in google docs about Evening writing the last of the invitations and going to the post office xD)

(Ohwell)

@Sterling Crimson (No damn mentions on device)

All those ponies.. Attending their wedding.. Being the shy and fragile pony she'd always been, she didn't much like crowds or attention, but was her wedding after all, they were there to support her, but she still felt the nervousness. The purple unicorn sighed, she didn't know why she felt like that, she had no need to feel like that but she sort of did.

Looking through their apartment window at all those little things that made her wonder. She blinked heavily and starting looking at the window instead, at her reflection. Her dull green eyes stared back at her as she stared at them, moving her eyes to look at her somewhat curly mane to her dark purple coat. She stared back into her own eyes, firmly, showing to emotion in her eyes.

'Stop worrying, Evening Glory..' she thought to her reflection 'They are here to celebrate for you, your everlasting love towards Sterling..'

She continued to stare at her reflection, now more focused centrally on her face; she smiled at herself, everything would be alright.

Evening felt someone looking at her from her side, turning to see Sterling looking into her eyes, she looked back into his with a smile, and to a bit of her surprise; he leaned in and kissed her. She kissed him back, ignoring her nervousness about the wedding.

After Sterling have his 'speech', The mare gave a smile to Sterling, his small, excited speech was cute in her eyes. Ever since they met on the tropical island, when she woke up and that Crimson stallion was aiding to her wounds, she had always found his excitement and nervousness really cute.

"We will make the most of everything.." she spoke in her as-always soft and quiet voice "Our wedding is the first step, we still have a long way to go though." Evening giggled and turned her head to look out the window again.

That reminded her, she had to contact Autumn..

Neon woke up then looked over at the clock, she had slept in pretty late. "Well, at least i have no where to be" She said to herself as she got up. She rubbed her eyes then yawned. Neon put on her lucky bracelets when she noticed a piece of paper outside on her doorstep. She brushed her mane a bit then got outside and picked up the letter, she read it out loud

“My friend Neon Strobe You are cordially invited to the wedding of a lifetime. A match made in heaven: Sterling Crimson and Evening Glory.”

Neon smiled then walked back into her room and started packing, she looked at the gem DJ had gave her and everypony else from the ship. She decided to pack it.

The apartment hall had a dark brown wooden floor. The walls were creamy and the room was relatively humble. Nonetheless, it was only a temporary setting as Sterling already had plans to invest in a house. Over the past few months after Sterling went through the Raven debacle, ponies all over the land gave their donations to Sterling and Evening as they heard about his miraculous escape from death and his potential sacrifice for a mare... a simple, yet beautiful mare. Sterling was ever so grateful for all these donations, for it helped him to gain his down payment for a house in the suburbs of Manehattan, where he was to begin work at a pharmaceutical company.

He continued to look out the window, imagining all the possibilities he could have in a marriage with Evening. Foals, Travel, Career, Everything! His mind was in a flurry as he continued to think excitedly at what the future beheld. Nonetheless, Sterling had to whisk himself back to reality; after all, he was to try out some tuxedos soon, so he had to leave Evening for now. He then told Evening, "Hey Evie. I'll be off to the tailor's. I need to try out my wedding gown!" He then kissed Evening as he walked out the apartment door with giddiness and glee.

DJ finished packing his saddlebags and flew into Ponyville to meet up with Vinyl. When he knocked on the door, a gray earth mare with a long black mane answered. "Hi, Octavia!" DJ said cheerfully. "Is Vinyl ready yet?"

Octavia smiled back at him. "Well, you know Vinyl! She STARTED packing, but soon got bored of it. She's looking through her record collection at the moment. You might as well come inside." Accepting the invitation, DJ followed Octavia back inside. Just as Octavia had said, Vinyl was more interested in her music than packing.

"I thought you were supposed to be packing!" DJ said loudly, causing Vinyl to jump with fright.

“Hey! Don’t scare me like that!” she cried, before laughing. “Sorry, I got a bit carried away. I’ll be back in a minute!” She dashed upstairs and returned a few minutes later with her saddlebags packed. “There we go! Everything packed!” she announced. “So, what are you going to where, DJ?”

DJ facehoofed himself. “Oh! I forgot about that!” he replied, slightly annoyed. “I didn’t pack anything! Come to think of it, I haven’t got anything you COULD wear to a wedding anyway!”

Vinyl giggled. “What would you do without me? Don’t worry, I’m sure you could buy something in Manehattan!”

“If you two ever get there!” said a voice behind them. It was Octavia, with a small smile on her lips. “You two lovebirds could stand there talking all day without realising it! Oh, and speaking of weddings…” she smiled mischievously, causing both DJ and Vinyl to blush. “Anyway, off you go you two! Enjoy yourselves!” The two trotted out of the house, waved goodbye to the still smiling Octavia and set off for the station.

Sterling was now at the tailor's. He felt that it was a big hassle just to get him dressed properly for the wedding; after all, dressing up is the last thing a stallion would want to do for anything, even a wedding. He entered the tailor's building, a dark brown brick building with some windows. The combination made the shop look like a typical low-class apartment, but nonetheless, he heard a lot about its great service when dealing with gowns and tuxes.

When Sterling entered, he was greeted by a sky blue mare who had a sewing cutie mark. She spoke with a smile and a thick Manehattan Accent, "Well hello there! I'm Tailor Made. And Youse must be Sterling Crimson? Well well well... Ise heard so much about youse, especially dem bullet wounds! Youse is like a tank! I'm amazed at dat endurance! Oh sorry for blabbing on like dis. Come on up and we'll get youse the perfect tux for youse special somepony!"

Sterling chuckled nervously as he began to walk with Tailor upstairs. When he arrived, there was a beautiful assortment of colours all around him. Fabrics of many kinds, tuxes of many styles, and dresses! The dresses were frilly yet elegant! To Sterling, it was already becoming an amazing shop... 'I guess they were right when they said not to judge a book by its cover... hehehe...' thought a still nervous Sterling as he prepared himself for the tuxedo process...

Winning the Neightona 500 is a big deal; it is a true testament to a pony's racing capabilities. Red was swarmed by ponies upon his return, as well as when he tried to step outside to take a breath. Red Talon wasn't quite sure what he thought about this newfound celebrity status. Of course, he figured he'd get used to it after awhile. Despite this, Red still felt quite depressed due to his not as successful relationship with Neon, who did not want a marriage. Flying as high as he possibly could to escape the paparazzi, he flew to Sweet Apple Acres, and knocked on the door. Applebloom got up and answered the door.

"Hiya, mister!" she greeted him, "Yah wanna talk to AJ?"

"Read my mind," Red replied. Applebloom led him into the living room, where Applejack was sitting, eating an apple.

"Howdy, pardner," she said to him, "Congrats on yer Neightona win today! Rainbow Dash told me all about it!"

"Glad to see I have a fanbase somewhere," Red replied, "Although I can't say I really enjoy this new fame as much... yet."

"Ah, sugarcube," Applejack responded, "Ah'm sure it'll pass and they'll leave ya alone."

"Alone..." Red mumbled, "That's another thing. After our little adventure, I tried to propose to Neon."

"And what did she say?"

"She said she wasn't quite ready for such a commitment."

"Ah, ah'm sorry to hear that, sugarcube. What ah'll say is that you should maybe later on askin' her again. Maybe she just needs some time. You're still datin' her, right?"

"Yeah," Red responded, "but after the failed proposal, I highly doubt it will hold up much."

"Alright" Evening called as he walked out the door. Saying that, Sterling reminded her about her own wedding gown, which she'd hardly thought of, in fact, she'd hardly though of anything, which was extremely unlike her. She stomped her hoof lightly on the floor, 'Well, I guess I better get busy!' she thought to herself, having one last look out the window before turning away from it and walking slowly towards the kitchen, thinking hard about the preparations needed and grabbing lots of paper, a 'pad' of blue sticky notes, a quill and three small inks pots as she walked.

Arriving in the kitchen, she set her little work area on a clear area on the kitchen bench, the paper to the left, ink pots above, sticky notes to the top-right and quill on top of the paper. She pulled up a chair in front of her things and prepared herself for what was propably going to be a while of working with a deep breath. The mare stared at her things for a while, what was she to write first? She had so many things floating in her head about the wedding that she was getting herself so.. confused. She used a hoof to slide one page of paper into the middle of the work space, moving her gaze to the quill and using her magic to pick it up, she dipped it into the first of the ink pots and held it above the paper "Well" she murmured "First thing is first, I suppose". The unicorn pressed her quill to the edge of the page and started moving it in a pattern, of letters...

~~A Little While Later~~

The quill was moving swiftly along in the top of the soft, silver paper, whilst writing the letter the mares dull green eyes traced every movement of the feather, every word, every re-dip; she eyes wouldn't move from the sight of the dim red quill. She could feel herself crack her concentration with a smile as she wrote the last two words;

'Love,

           Evening'

The purple mares smile grew, she let her magic put the red quill back into the third ink pot as she leaned back, away from the bench she was writing on and relaxing herself, but only for a moment. She soon leaned forward again and picked up both the letter and an envelope she had got a while ago, which was sitting simply beside the sticky notes. Evening neatly folded the letter and slipped it inside the envelope, she closed the back of the envelope and turned it over, looking at the details she had already filled out on the front. She read her small, clean quill-writing in her head;

'Autumn Glow

Apartment 4C

Oaklen Road

Canterlot'

Good. Now that was done, it could be the first thing to tick off her list. She stood up from her street and trotted out the door, locking it behind her. Thankfully enough for her, the post office wasn't too far away from their apartment, so she was there in absolute no time. As she arrived, she greeted the stallion at the desk and handed the envelope to him. He was a light yellow stallion with red hair and dull blue eyes, he looked pretty friendly but he did look a bit shifty. "How long will it take to get there?" Evening asked, anxious of the time it would take "Don't worry Miss." the stallion spoke with a light country accent "It should only take about half an hour, our rookie is just about ta' leave" she nodded and thanked him, she walked out the post office with a happy feeling. 'Now, what else?' she though, beginning to walk back to the apartment

(A bit busy for the rest of the day, might not post again until late!)

It felt like the entire process had droned on for a whole 24 hours, but in reality, he was just standing there for about half an hour. Sterling really was having difficulty keeping calm, especially since it took Tailor at least half an hour just to check his body dimensions. In fact, Sterling was so tense that Tailor had to constantly shout, "Sterling! Youse gotta calm down! I can't get dis woik done if youse keep moving lyk dis!" to which Sterling then replied with a quick apology, "I'm sorry Ms. Made. I just hate it when I have to stand still like this for so long just to get body dimensions." Then Tailor would reply with annoyance, "Sterling. Youse have to let me finish dis woik. If youse don't, den wese'll never get dis done! Good news dough. I'm done measuring youse, and now it's tyme four me to show youse all the gowns youse can wear for your weddin."

As Tailor opened the wardrobe, Sterling's eyes opened wide at all the different tuxedos at his disposal. Glittering black, office black, smooth black... everything was there. Tailor then spoke with a smile and a chuckle as she took out the smooth black tuxedo, "Oh Sterling. Dat's not de only stuff I have. But for now, I dink dese are de best ones for youse. I'll resize dem all for youse, so youse just wait to de side whilst I finish dis work." Sterling then watched with curiosity as Tailor began to resize all of the best tuxedos for him...

((OOC: Phew! I'm here, I'm here!))

The soft, wafting drift of wind gently fluttered through Kismet's mane. Her eyes flitted open as she got up from her cloud bed and yawned gingerly. She looked around her room. It was simple, but elegant. Probably one of the nicest in Cloudsdale, but certainly not anything to brag about. It didn't matter, it was her home and she was comfortable.

She got out of bed and stretched her wing fully. She stumbled over to the window and looked outside. The sun was shining and the clouds were lazily drifting through the sky. She frowned. She would have to take care of those later today... It wasn't supposed to be cloudy until tomorrow.

Forcing herself to relax, she combed her mane and tail before departing from her room. She opened the door and fluttered up to the roof. There she had a hidden passage she had cleared from the clouds that led straight up. She flew up and up until she reached the shining light at the end of the hollow tunnel. Finally she reached the top and sat on the cloud.

Kismet marveled at the view. All of Equestria was within sight. From Ponyville up close, to the tall skyscrapers of Manehatten reaching up toward the sky in the distance, she felt as though she was on top of the world. High above the clouds, totally serene, was her private getaway. Here she could relax and think clearly. It came in handy when she had a dizzy spell...

"No," she thought to herself harshly. "You musn't think about that. Stay peacefully calm and we won't have to worry about that, now will we?"

But the thought had planted a seed in her mind, and it grew and grew with worry.

Evening had already trotted into the comfort of the apartment, knowing that it wouldn't take much time for the letter to get through gave her a nice feeling. Seeing that her fiancé wasn't home was an instant result in her going back to her work place, she was already nearly finished writing another letter that she had forgotten to do before. Her dark, dull green eyes watched the quill move as she wrote the last few words:

'It would be such a joy to see you again, I do hope you can make it.

Love,

           Evening Glory'

This pony she was writing to she hadn't seen in a while, she felt as though she needed to catch up with her and her wedding would be the best place. She wasn't a very social pony though, she was quite shy also, much like Evening herself, but at least she could handle herself in a crowd, especially with this many ponies. As long as she a friend or two with her.. The mares eyes lit up, she had a brilliant idea that would be perfect. She dipped her quill in the ink again and pressed it to the paper again;

'P.S: If you'd like you can bring that male 'friend' of yours too, I'm very eager to meet him.'

As she put down her quill she giggled, if she did bring him, this would be interesting. She folded the paper and slipped it into a new envelope with details already there, and again trotted out the door towards the post office. She could see a few mail-ponies walk towards the office also, their bags were dropping at their side, they look as though they mourned to be filled with mail again. Walking into the office, the same stallion from before greeted her "Ah, hello again!" he spoke, only giving her a glace before looking around in the drawers in front of him. He soon brought out a light pink envelope and put in on the table in front of him "I have a letter for you." Evening grinned at this, he approached him "Thank you. I have letter also, to send" she said, putting the letter she had to send on the table next to her pink one. He thanked her and took him, going into the back as she picked up the pink envelope and left.

As the train slowed to a stop at Manehattan station, DJ and Vinyl descended onto the platform. They both immediately looked up at the towering skyscrapers and buildings. DJ smiled at the sight, as it brought back many fond memories. He had lived most of his life here, up until his career had gotten a bit too hectic, at which point he had moved to Ponyville. It had been a long time since he had been her, and he was glad to be back.

"Wow..." Vinyl said as the y trotted out into the city. "No matter how many times I come here, it still takes my breath away."

"I know what you mean," DJ replied. "It's so different from Ponyville! Manehattan still feels like home to me..."

When the two eventually found their hotel, they were directed by the bell-foal to two rooms on the third floor. The rooms were right next to each other and were almost identical, with a glorious view of the city from their windows. After they had both gotten unpacked, they met up at the reception.

"So, shall we go take a look around town?" Vinyl asked. "You still have to get yourself an outfit for the wedding!"

"Oh, you're right!" DJ exclaimed. "Yeah, let's go see if we can find anywhere good!" With that, they both trotted back out into Manehattan to explore.

Back in the apartment, again, she had opened her pink envelope and started reading it. The whole letter made her smile and happy, Autumn's letters and presence always made her feel cheerful and safe, even something as small and humble as this. For at least the third time, she read the letters simple writing;

"Dear Evening..

You, my dear sister, I love with all my heart.

How could I say no to this?! Look at you, getting married already! I'm six years older than you and I've hardly had any boyfriends and mind you, he was your first! I'm just so happy for you, that you didn't have any broken hearts, that you found your love straight away.

I'm packing my bags as soon as I finish writing this, I'm going to get mother to go to the post office for me so I can start packing and catch the next train, so don't you even think about sending a return letter! I'll be staying in that hotel that we stayed in when were on holiday about half a year before you left on the cruise. How about we catch up some tomorrow or the next day?

I'll write to you or show up at your doorstep when I'm there!

Autumn'

Just like her, to embarass her but excite her and make her giggle at the same time. Evening was most excited about her coming to town, the last time she actually saw her sister was when she said goodbye before boarding the cruise ship that would forever change her life..

Whilst thinking about the adventures with her friends, giving longing smile and blush, something in the back of her mind was making her feel as though she was forgetting something..

Oh right. Planning for the wedding.

She slipped the letter back into the pink envelope and slided another page of paper to the middle of her area, she picked up the quill and switched to deep-concentration mode. Now, would it be Forget-me-nots, Pansy's or Red Roses for the tables? Perhaps even Morning Glory's? That would affect the tablecloth, but what colour would it be? The purple mare sighed, this might be difficult.

(I don't really know what I'm doing for these posts, but they are fun to write)

All of the gowns were simply amazing... Sterling was having a really hard time deciding between all the gowns. Tailor chuckled at the confused, yet happy Sterling as he tried out each of the gowns. "Oh Sterling. I'm so glad youse are going along really well with de gowns. Youse gotta pick one though. We can't stand around here all day!" Sterling then replied with a cheeky smile, "Sorry... I know I need to pick a gown soon, but I'm just blown away at the quality of these gowns!" After Sterling said that, he finally found his gown. It was the smooth black gown that he saw when he first entered the shop. He was always in love with that gown, but he wanted to see whether the other gowns would match up to that particular one. Sterling then spoke happily, "Here Tailor. I'll have this one. It's great!"

After Sterling happily made his rental purchase, Tailor spoke with a warning, "Make sure youse don't ruin dat gown! Youse still renting it you know?!" Sterling replied happily, "Yes ma'm!" as he walked out of the apartment. He had been at the tailor's for 2 hours, and he was finally heading home... but first, he had to get a certain something for his special one... 'Right! How could I have forgotten about that?!' thought a happy Sterling as he walked onward to the city as the sun shone happily above...

Steel awoke with a groan. He had a rough night. His life, for all intents and purposes, was going rather well. He was still writing, even sold a bestseller based on his previous adventure. He was still training, just last week he had bested the regional fencing champion. So why did he feel off this morning?

His brother. Steel's relationship with his younger brother Ace had always been pleaseant and loving. But as Ace grew older, started going to Celestia's school for gifted unicorns, and had less than admirable friends; he had grown quite jaded and cynical.

Steel couldn't so much as breathe correctly around him anymore. No matter what his dream or aspiration, Ace dismissed them as "childish," or "fanciful." They had hung out the previous night and their growing differences began to reveal theirselves with conversation.

Steel had fallen asleep, confused and unsure. He missed his friends: Clover, DJ, Red, North, Sterling, Evening, and Neon. When he was with them, it was simple and he truly felt appreciated.

As Steel poured his morning cereal, he noticed a letter had fallen through his mail shoot. He opened it up and read it.

It was an invitation to Sterling and Evening's wedding! Without even a second thought, Steel hastily packed his saddlebags, wrote an RSVP, and made a b-line for Manehatten.

"I'm on my way my friends!" He said to himself as he soared through the air.

After gliding for quite a while, he landed and started trotting. Even though he was quite efficient with gliding now, he was still not strong enough to fly properly. Thankfully for him, it had started to get a little darker, letting him have a good look at his surroundings.

"I hope I went the right way... The light in the distance must be the Crystal Empire... And here be a mountain with a grand waterfall..." he spoke quietly to himself, as he begun climbing his way up the Neighagra Falls...

Clover materialised at Manehatten station, and shook her head. Teleportation was still a bit of a shock, even if one was as practiced at teleporting long distances as she was! But there was no doubt that it cut down on the hours. It was a long train ride from Trottingham to Manehatten, and very tiring. Now that Clover had recovered from the shock, she smiled. She felt perfectly alright, and decided to go and check into the hotel first, then go and get something to eat. She trotted off in the direction of the Manehatten Hotel.

Kismet sat upon the clouds and looked down at the world below. It was times like this when she felt so small... so... useless. She was a shy pony and always has been.

But, that was something she could live with. Something that she was used to. It was simply her nature, after all. However the thing that concerned her the most was the truth that has dawned over her her whole life thus far.

She didn't understand who she was.

Everypony who had their cutie mark were so... proud and confident with their special talent. Kismet looked down at her own flank.

"Stupid pair of dice," she thought to herself, What does that even mean??? How am I supposed to use my special talent when I don't even know what it is?"

She sighed. Well, that was only half true. She was well aware of what caused the mark to appear, but she had no idea what it meant, or how to control it. Heck, she had no idea how to use it or what it was good for! All she knew is that every now and then, she would get what she called a "dizzy spell". Her vision would become fuzzy, and she couldn't think clearly. In fact, she couldn't think at all. Her mind was flooded with ideas and thoughts and sights and visions and sounds and smells and everything all at once. It was so overwhelming that she became dizzy and disoriented. It would only last a moment, and then it is gone as quickly as it had come on.

Though that wasn't the worst of it. Afterwards, she would have a nagging feeling in the back of her mind. Telling her something. Whispering something she couldn't quite hear. It was important, that she knew for sure, but she could not decipher the words. It would stay in her mind until something happened.

It was based on chance. Luck. Roll of the dice if you will. But Kismet looked off into the hazy distance.

"What's the point of  a cutie mark if it doesn't even work?"
