Crimson growled in annoyence as he walked through the dense brush of the forest, "when celestia told me that hre was a strange disturbance in the everfree forest I figured I would investigate on my own, but I didn't think she would ACTUALLY send more than two ponies to take care of this issue...and who knew it would be so annoying to find those other volunteers she mentioned...where in the name of luna are they?!" Thought crimson as he scanne the forest for any sign of the others, after a few moments of nothing, the sound of flapping wings caught his attention, crimson then smiled and followed the faint sound until finally emerging through the brush to find a small group of ponies, most likely the ones celestia had mentioned, crimson layed his eyes on minty and smiled, "great, finally found you guys, celestia sent me to give you guys a helping hoof...but first things first.." said crimson before walking up to minty and taking off his hat and bowing slightly, with a flirting grin on his face, "my name is captain crimson grinn, infamous pirate captain, but don't be afraid, I'm not like most pirates, I don't kill ponies for somthing as common as gold, in fact me and celestia are good freinds, but enough of that for now, what would your name be cutie?" Asked crimson innocently.

Sanura approached Crimson. "Who are you?" she asked. "I am Sanura, and Princess Celestia entrusted myself and this group to go to the strange Secluded Village in the centre of the Everfree Forest. Are you also on this mission?"

The Village was quiet, deathly quiet. Fog hung all over it, hiding from sight the houses and shops. Shadows flitted in and out of the mist, as well as the ponies who were trapped inside of it. One such pony was a unicorn named Shadow Star. She wished heartily that she had never entered this village but, gambler that she was, she never could turn down a bet. She kept a sharp lookout for her manifested fear, which was a giant snake. The only safe places within the village were those of the inhabited houses, one of which was the one where Shadow Star now lived. Sometimes she thought of what she'd left behind; her son, her gambling friends... but with no real hope of ever getting back. Maybe there was a way out of the village, but Shadow Star had never been able to find it.

She kept flying through the small Everfree Forest to the village. She hoped it wasn't too scary.. and she certainly hoped that her worst nightmare wasnt there.

Crimson smiled in relief at minty's forgivness, "thats good, I've succeeded in getting the trust of at least one of the them...but what about sanura? I may be a pirate, but making freinds is a huge bitch when your an outlaw..." thought crinson as he turned to sanura, "my name is captain crimson grinn, I am an old friend of the princess, she sent me here to give you guys a helping hoof, I'm a VERY gifted fighter..." said crimson with a smile.

"Ngg..." scribe grunted as the bags shifted their weight, pulling heavily at his left flank. Glaring directly ahead, he marched on.

 

"You're being pleasantly quiet Scribe." Symphony noted with the air of someone commenting on the weather. "Seriousness of the situation finally caught up to you?"

 

"Just how much food do they think we'll need...?" The unicorn grumbled quietly. "This thing weighs a ton!"

 

The Crystal mare smirked, safely out of his line of sight. Opening her wings to sun herself in the patches of daylight, her feathers sent a rainbow hue glistening around her as the sun caught each one. Her smirk turned into a genuine smile.

 

"I'll help you carry some stuff on the way back, deal?"

Crimson smiled in relief at minty's forgivness, "thats good, I've succeeded in getting the trust of at least one of the them...but what about sanura? Minty trotted farther up ahead, scanning the area for any signs of threat. She tripped over a small rock, but quickly brushed herself off and decided to fly instead. She eventually reached the end of the forest, and spotted the village eagerly. She looked back at the others and saw that Crimson was still talking to Sanura. She sighed and advanced towards the village quietly.

North followed along as well as he could. Not wielding any weapons, he carried extra deep saddle-bags with a couple of tents and a lot of supplies - though not a lot more than the other stallions, as his size was still on the small side. As they entered the Everfree Forest, he almost seemed delighted, as his eyes opened fully. "This is much better..."

"Thank you," Sanura replied. "We could certainly use a helping hoof; I don't know how much you know about this village, but it's not for the faint hearted. You must stay with us tho, cuz we all must enter together if we are to stand any chance. You see, anypony who enters alone will find themselves in a different part."

Quick Shot nodded silently. "Very well. Although wouldn't it be smart to check the area out in more detail before we do it, just to be sure we aren't dealing with something that we aren't expecting. Better prepared than nothing... and even the smallest details change, even over the course of a few days."

 

Speed Blast was currently juggling two cloudballs and his bat. "Yeah, yeah, sure. It's a demon, ain't it? All We do is pull some light magic, and poof, it's gone. And so is the problem."

Once we do, like I said, we all go in together. That way, we'll be better put to be able to fight off what our greatest fears manifest as."

"I hear this place is where you find your worst nightmare.." Minty said, frightened. "It's not like it's that scary.." Minty said, shuddering. Her wings instantly closed at the thought and she fell to the ground.

Sanura looked at Quick Shot with approval. "I'd agree on that," she said. "We'd better scout the area outside the village fully first before we even think of entering. Once we do, like I said, we all go in together. That way, we'll be better put to be able to fight off what our greatest fears manifest as."

Crimson began to chuckle as he heard what sanura said, "greatest fears? I don't fear anything! Just ask celestia, I once told her off when she chastised me, and most ponies would barely even glance in her direction, I've even faced monsters that you only see in your nightmares, what could I possibly be scared of?" Asked crimson cockily.

 

((Oh trust me, he does have a fear, I'm just showing how cocky he can be, its apart of his character...))

Sanura smiled. "Oh, I thought that once," she replied. "Turns out, everypony has one thing they're scared of. Might be buried deep in the subconscious but trust me, this village will find it."

 

She took out a scroll from her saddlebags. "There are some ponies who are trapped inside the village that we would do well to look for," she said. "They'll at least know the layout and can advise us on where to go when the fog and darkness falls."

He listened to the others as they spoke. "I guess I could have a peek around... That is, if permission is granted. My eyes see well in the dark as I once told ye..." he said as he looked at Sanura. "I too know that everypony have their fears, and I am not sure what I am... Afraid of yet... This could be interesting, as well as dangerous."

"Worst nightmare?" Speed Blast shook his head, and caught the bat and the two cloudballs. "Pfft. Yeah, right, considering the worst nightmare that I can think of is the fact that my sis is constantly showing me up, twenty-four seven." He shrugged. "You get used to it after a while."

"Thanks," Sanura said, smiling at him. "When we have scouted the area, we had better set up camp and head towards the village tomorrow morning; it's getting late and entering it at night would be suicidal."

 

Clover was planning to set up wards around the camp once they stopped; after all, there were many creatures lurking in the forest who were unfriendly to ponies.

"The village is over there, yes," Sanura answered. "We will go and check it out, while the others set up camp. Tomorrow morning, come what may, we will head to the village.

Clover marked out a good spot for the camp to go, and immediately began to set wards of protection around the camp area. She pricked her ears and shivered as she heard the howling of timber wolves in the distance, which accounted for her haste in setting the spells.

His ears poked up a bit at the sound of timber-wolves in the distance. "I guess we should go before what be lurking around gets too close..." he said, as he dropped his saddlebag with a big thud at where they were setting up camp. "That felt good..." he said, as he walked off slowly before gradually speeding up a little as he reached the trees that surrounded them...

"Still don't see what the big deal is with this place..." Scribe panted, dropping the pack to the ground. "It'll just be some uppity unicorn who's decided they're better than everypony else..."

 

He stalled as Symphony struck him around the back of the head.

 

"What was that for?"

 

"I felt like it. Your irritating. Shut up. Pick any two." She muttered back at him. "You know, you've always been an idiot but just recently you've been really immature as well."

Lost set his things down where they had decided to make camp and walked over to Clover. If there was something he could do to help, it was infinitely better than sitting around doing nothing. "Do you want some help with that? I may not be able to invent my own spells, but I like to think I'm pretty good with the spells I have."

"You're right, North," Sanura said. "We ought to set out right away." She trotted away in the direction of the village. As they approached its borders, it seemed as tho the creatures of the forest dared not go any further, and Sanura thought they could do worse than take note.

Clover turned to Lost with some relief. "I'd love some help," she replied. "I want to put wards all around the campsite so we don't get attacked by timber wolves in the night. If I tell you the spell, you can perform it yourself. It's a fairly simple one; I invented it for this purpose."
