"Realistic" Human Fluttershy Portrait

Hi guys. I'm fairly new to the fandom, so I've yet to contribute much to it, but I've begun to! I'm useless at digital art I'm afraid as I lack the skill, knowledge as well as the necessities for it (such as software xD) A lot of people can do it these days and I wish I could to, but I cannot at this moment to even try D:

But here's an acrylic portrait of Fluttershy as a human smile.png I painted this on a wooden board.

If this gets good feedback, I'll probably do the other 5 of the mane 6 in this way >.< Maybe you can let me know which you think I should do next xDD Idk hehe.

Thanks for looking you guys!

Wow!
That's some mean talent you have there! Are you planning on being an artist in the future? You totally should! :D
I wish I could paint like that.

Colours/shading are very nicely done indeed, the proportions are a bit off though:

The upper part of the nose (don't know the englisch word, the part between the eyebrows) seems too broad, the forehead is a bit too small and the eyebrow curves too far downwards on the outer side.

Also the pink eyelashes seem odd and the jawline a bit strong, but these are personal taste.

Did you work of a reference?

Would love to see more

My Art Thread, updated (almost) daily

Tomorrow will take us away, far from home

No one will ever know our names

But the bard songs will remain.

Well, I'm studying an art degree right now. Becoming an artist... it's a possibility, but who knows? xD Thanks for commenting!

Yes, I used a reference. I rarely work without one. Thanks!

Great shading and color work! But the chin, brow and nose are a bit wide for a woman, making her a bit disgruntled or brutish. (just me?)
So, pros and cons.

Yes, my fault for picking a reference that had very strong features... But I saw the same thing you did the more I painted it, so it's not just you. But it's okay. I think I actually like it the way it is. Maybe it would have been better if I painted the whole of her face, maybe it wouldn't have looked the way it does. Oh well. Suggestive in many aspects I suppose? Maybe human Fluttershy just simply has her perks, I don't know xD But I suppose that would simply be an excuse on my behalf. I don't get to draw/paint very often so hopefully in future I'll just make better decisions and produce better work. Let's see. Thanks for commenting.
