My first sketch of my oc. I did this all by hand and it was very hard. Only good comments please, no harsh or mean ones please, Thank you! Also sorry if the lines are a little shaky, it was very hard to draw.

That really came out quite well, if I do say so.

Upon some review, can't really find much to critique that would need to be improved on other than the lines,

which I will give you a bit of advice.

Line Tip:

How I tend to draw my lines (an example of my work) is I draw lightly (lightly holding onto the pencil while letting the tip brush against the paper as well) and use short strokes that overlap each other. Once a base has been set, I'll go over the lines again, using slightly longer strokes and erase any mistakes. (Next part is optional) Next I erase the entire line ('ts just the way I like to do things) and use the light marks that are left to draw a straight line (still being light) then harden the line once it's good enough.

Though it sounds like a bit of work, it's not that much work when you find out what it actually entails.

Hopefully this helps you img-1637872-1-sad.png

Normal #2 pencil, I presume?  One thing I do notice in your drawing is that the lines are a single layer, basically you went over them once.  One thing I do recommend is try making a very light sketch of your OC and go over it and make it darker, you'll find that your lines will be way more smooth :)

Yes your right I did use just a normal pencil, and yes i did only go over them once, I was thinking about going over them more than once but i never got around to it, so thanks for the tip!

A bit rough around the edges, but other than that, you did a great work buddy!

As a bonus, I'd say your OC looks pretty cool dude, so great work!

Yeah, I was never good at drawing straight lines or making the edges fine, but i tried to draw it my very best. And thank you, i believe he looks pretty cool as well.

Ok! So I took you guys tips and tried to fix my OC as much as I can. So I went over the lines more than once and made them darker, and before that I tried to straighten the lines, so I hope this looks better. I will post this pic again with color in it, can't find my color pencils.

The lines are much more clear and smooth :)  Still a little rough around some edges, but that will go away after some practice.  Would you happen to have access to a scanner by chance?

Another tip that can possibly help to straighten out lines:

would be to use the erasers that go onto the tops of pencils (as they have a fine point *when they are new*)

Like these

Then, instead of using the eraser just as another tool to get rid of lines, use it like you were just drawing the lines. Starting at the farthest edge of the line then slowing going inward/toward the centre of the line can aide in the straightening/smoothing of the lines.

No doubt you'll get better quickly after seeing this piece.

Your image quality would shoot through the roof!  A lot of newer printers have a built in scanner, mine does :3  Once you scan it in, you'll know a huge difference.

Thanks ill try to get my printer to work because it has a scanner in it but I have to figure out how it works first lol, but I'll try to see if it helps. Thanks again!

It looks much better than the silly things I draw! I'm much better at drawing things like robots, buildings, basically anything inanimate, or anything I made up on my own.

I hear ya, it was very hard to draw and took me quite some time to finish, and all I have to do now is add color to it and it will be good to go.
