ooc Dragon Riders of Yv'nerre

Backstory:

Ever since the world's formation, it was destined for destruction.  At the formation, a single gem was laid to rest by the unknown powers that created the land..  That gem was sought by the leaders of old.  Soon, war broke out and the world's powers clashed in a mighty brawl for the ownership of the gem.

Alas, the loss was too great.  A stalemate was declared, and the gem was split in three and spread across the lands to keep such a war from happening again.  Little did anyone know that the gem was what kept the forces nature intact.  Now split in three, the world has slowly been losing its own balance.

Eons have passed and a new age has been ushered into the land of Yv'nerre (Ivv near).  Six dragon eggs have been gathered in Central Fdor.  Each of the five holds, Svenn's, Sydden's, Halik's, Tal's, Bard's, and Veryth's Hold, must send select citizens and soldiers by the thousands to discover whom shall be of the next riders. 

Those who are chosen by the hatchlings will then return to their holds to become guardians as they raise their dragons to become grand sentries of the holds.

As the world is sent closer to its own destruction, an ancient cult rises up called "The D'vyne".  They have found riders of their own and are bent on seeking the world's end as a redemption into a new time of perfection meaning they wish to keep the gem's shards apart by all means necessary.

Soon the six holds catch heed of this uprising and send out the riders to meet back in Fdor where their journey first started.  Now they must begin a new journey with each other and keep the world in balance by stopping the twisted minds of The D'vyne before the forces of nature are unleashed upon the inhabitants of the lands of Yv'nerre.

Rules/Guidelines:
(You must comply with the following)
Now this RP will be for 6 and 6 people only. If any exceptions are to be made, you will not be a main rider, you will be slipped in as another character that can be more of a support and still able to interact fully.
Any changes to the story or RP in general will be updated to the OP.
The 2 founders are in GMT-8, so the closer you are, the better.
Places will be geographically related. (Which will be posted here at another point.)
Any ideas can be taken into account.
Proper grammar is expected.
Be able to maintain a larger body of text than most Roleplays may insinuate.
Romance is allowed.
Pony Cusses are allowed. (i.e. Buck, Flying Feather, etc.)
All content must be SFW or "Site Appropriate".
Anyone remaining idle, causing waiting periods or serious interruptions will be EXCOMMUNICATED!
No Godmodding
No mary/gary sue
No Alicorns
No taking control of another player without permission/consent of said player.

If you wish to leave, please notify in advance so we may fill the slot!
If you are on a short away, please notify in advance so that arrangements may be made prior to have your character manipulated properly.
One OC per player!
Rainbow Dashey is DM, my say is final. A chain of command will be determined so the RP may continue if one person or another is missing in action.

You most certainly can, just don't take too long or your spot will re-open.

I shouldn't take more than an hour or two, but I had a feeling this would fill up quickly. I don't really have any particular hold I'd want, mainly because I don't know anything about them. That, and it would depend on which OC I end up choosing. But just put me wherever you want.

There isn't much to know about the holds so far, other than name, their topography will be determined at the start of the Roleplay.

 

Though, this RP most likely won't begin until tomorrow taking into account it is getting late-ish.  But since you seem to be practically ready, you will be added to the list.  Just shoot me the link to your OC as soon as you can and it will work.

Of course, I'm a strange case because my sleep schedule pretty much revolves around when my girlfriend is available, and she's eight hours ahead of me right now. Wow, that was a whole lot of off topic, wasn't it? Oops.

 

Actually, if you assign me a hold now, it might make it easier for me to decide on an OC.

That would all depend on the race. If it's something in Equestria, possibly. But if you are going for a human OC or another odd form, it's a no go.

Minotaur possibly, or maybe a griffon, but probably not. And I was thinking about my Diamond Dog OC, actually he's not a good fit for this. So mainly a minotaur, I suppose.

And no, it isn't based off of Eragon, though many similarities may be shared.  All of the names, story, etc. are completely made up by Duece and me.  And any relation to ideas or people living or dead is purely coincidental.

Hmmm... Griffon gets the greenlight.  But if you want a minotaur, you are going to have some really good reasons and have him be a very well developed character.

Well, he does have a solid development.  I think I'm just a bit cautious is I see a minotaur turning into an overpowered tank.  But that's only because I've never RP'd with one, so he may be alright.

 

I'm still a bit iffy on it.  But if you can guarantee he isn't an atrociously over the top character, then I can greenlight it.

I'd still prefer a griffon to a minotaur still.

My griffon's no good for anything that requires teamwork. Especially working with ponies. So that's just not going to work. Actually it doesn't even really matter, because I think I'm going to use this guy instead. His profile isn't all that developed because every time he's appeared in a roleplay it's died out pretty quickly, so I haven't gotten a chance to really figure him out yet, but I think he should work well for this. Sorrying for wasting your time with the others.

Understandable, I was just referring to species over the personality.

 

But if you think he's fit for the job, that's fine by me.  I don't require an in-depth character, I just want someone with a mapped out personality that is known and solid from the start.

 

So if you want to change him out, let me know before I start this RP.

Alright. If you want, since we could use another mare, I can see if my girlfriend wants to join. Or I know at least one other person who could provide a mare, and she'll pretty much join any RP I tell her too, albeit she might take a while to get back to me.

Sounds good! If you could get both to come, that would be great! I may change the number from 5 to 6 that way it's even mare to colt ratio.  But even just 1 of them is fine.  

I also gave Duece the power to allow slots into the RP until I get back on. (Posted in OP)
