Rose noticed as a young Stallion stepped out of his cart and sat at the bottom of the hill. Feeling warmed up to having other ponies around, Rose called down to him. "Hey, come up here!" She smiled slightly as he looked up to her.

 

As she waited for him to come up the path, she noticed the mare appeared to be reading a book, ignoring everypony. Except, she was reading it upside down. Rose leaned down, then sat next to her, whispering in her ear, but not obviously.. "Umm.. I couldn't help but notice your book is a little... upside down." The mare blushed harder than ever. "I see you're a little shy" Rose stepped away, not wanting to make the mare feel to crowded. 

 

Another mare walked up to Blaze. She wasn't sure why, but for some reason, she felt a bit jealous, but she decided not to intervene.

[Emerald Wave 68]

Emerald Wave trotted towards the camp. She was relieved to see that she was at the right place. She opened her suitcase and read what was inside. "Enjoy camp! Love, mom." Emerald Wave smiled. "Crap, am I late?" she said to herself, putting the note back and looking around. She actually felt nervous, so she looked around, hoping to see somepony to ask what to do next.

 

As she wandered around, she saw a lot of ponies talking to each other. "Wow, so many people..," she sighed. "I miss Night Star, but I can make new friends!" she said out loud to herself. "I mean, he saved me from a serial killer, but that was like one year ago! Get over it!" she told herself. "Now, what else did mom pack me..," she said, digging through her bag.

 

She then found another letter. 'Hello, Emerald Wave, this is Inferno,' the letter began. "NO!" Emerald Wave hollered, and nearly tore it apart before reading more. 'Hahaha, kidding! It's Symphony! Have fun at camp!' The letter ended with a big smiley face. She looked around to see if her yell caught anybody's attention.

Great, now what? I have to get into camp somehow, but she said "join us," which means I'll be around a lot of ponies. And then they'll laugh at me, and then I'll get mad, and maybe even kicked out of camp. Not that I want to be here, but then Mom and Dad would kill me.

 

Okay. I just can't talk to anypony, except for basic things.

 

Leafdew looked behind him as he climbed up the hill, trying to avoid contact. He got to the top and shuffled his hooves. "Hi." He mumbled to the mare.

Rose smiled to the Stallion, somewhat tense from being around the extremely shy mare. "Hi" She said, perhaps sounding a little bit too enthusiastic. She wondered if she was coming on too strong. She didn't want him to end up hiding in a castle of his own luggage like the mare had. "I'm Rosemary, you can call me Rose. What's your name?" 

As she waited for him to reply, she noticed the black pegasus looking in her direction. She was hugging that tattered old bag of hers, seeming to hold on to it for dear life. She seemed afraid, but it didn't seem to fit her appearance, so she shrugged it off. Maybe the pony had left something important behind.

Fire grinned. "I'm Fire Sky. What's your name...'s?" She asked, putting her hoof back down and looking the mare and colt over...her eyes lingering on the mare a split second longer, it wasn't really all that noticeable.

"We're Ragtag!" The mare said, grinning. "Well, Rag and Tag, technically, but... I'm Rag, and that's Tag." Tag looked over his shoulder, winked cheerfully at Fire, and returned his attention to Darlig's OC. 

 

"It's nice to meet you, Fire. I can tell we're gonna have lots of fun together." She said it innocently enough, but her eyes had a laughter dancing in them.

Fire nodded again. "Totally. I'm so stoked on this week." She said, smiling at Tag when he winked at her before looking back at Rag. "So...where are you two from?" She asked, curiously...Rag seemed like the kind of mare Fire would want to keep in touch with...Tag too of course...

Star blushed and quickly flipped her book over so it was right side up, mentally facehoofing. *Okay, no more screw ups.* She thought.

Blaze's ears perked up. He heard soomeone yell and he went to go investigate. He found a mare that was a little ways away from everyone else. He trotted towards her, looking around for anything out of the ordinary. "Hey are you okay? Did something happen?"

Rai sighed as she stared out of thebus window. This wasn't her ideal way to spend her summer, and her parents couldn't even be bothered to come with her and drop her off. She then noticed that they were nearing the camp and grabbed her suitcase and saddlebags. Both were very light, as she didn't pack anything she wouldn't need.

The bus eventually screeched to a halt and she mumbled a quick thanks to thee bus driver before stepping off. She noticed quite a few.ponies by the enterance talking to each other, but she hung back and pulled out a piece of paper that she had written down of all of the 'attractions'.

"This is gonna be GREAT fun..." She mumbled to herself.

She watched as a stallion trotted up to her. "Yeah... I'm fine, my sister just pranked me. She wrote a letter saying that she was Inferno. Inferno was a stallion who wanted to murder my friends and I... But that was a year ago, so I don't have to worry," she explained. "I'm Emerald Wave, what's your name?" she asked, shaking his hoof happily.

Emerald Wave and the stallion who she hadn't learned his name yet were talking (where he and I left off.) when she heard somepony's hooves hit the ground. (He left off like that.) Emerald Wave turned to see a purple and blue Pegasus. "Oh, hi!" she said, smiling. She then cringed noticing that her ADHD (hyperactivity disorder) was trying to take over. 'Calm down,' she told herself. 'You don't want to start acting crazy and leave a bad first impression, do you?' Not wanting to go hyperactive, she backed away.

 

"Okay, um, you can continue your conversation. I'll go and let you talk. Bye!" she said awkwardly, before scampering off.

 

"Ugh, I hate having ADHD," Emerald Wave said to herself.

((Sorry for the delay guys! Sleep is essential xD))

 

A medium sized grumpy looking, gray donkey trudged towards the group of foals waiting at the camp entrance. His joints seemed to creak with every step. He stood a foot away from the group, staring at them and sizing them all up. Finally he cleared his throat and brayed loudly to catch their attention.

"ATTENTION FILLIES AND COLTS!" He yelled. "My name is Matted, and you are all to be quiet and listen as I call your names and divide you into groups. After I divide you into groups, I'll take you to your cabins where you will get settled then gather in the middle of camp, around the bonfire!"

 

He cleared his throat again and dug a piece of paper out of his saddle bags. "Cabin 1: Leafdew, Lavender Pierce, Art Streak and Sorrow Melodies! Go stand over there!" He pointed his bony hoof to the right. "Cabin 2: Rai, Star Song, Missy Splash, and Rosemary Petal! Stand in the middle!" "Cabin 3: Blaze Finder, Emerald Wave, Fire Sky, Rag and Tag! Go stand to the left. Now get in your groups and follow me!" He snapped and began stomping up the path and into camp.

Missy Splash recoiled at the donkey's--Matted, croaky and grumpy demeanor. Gee, I hope he gets nicer...She thought. But where's Bubbly Fizz? I thought she or he was in charge of this camp? She trotted off to the middle, levitating her bags behind her with her magic. She briefly deflated because she wasn't in a cabin with any of the nice ponies she had been talking to before. No matter! I'm sure these ponies are just as nice! Then it hit her..."Wait a minute! Why are colts in the cabins with the fillies?" She demanded, but the donkey was already too far away to hear her outrage.

 

Lavender Pierce

 

Lavender curled her lip in disgust at the donkey's appearance. Why do they even let those creatures out? She thought. And why am I in the cabin with all of the lame ponies? She stomped over to the right and flung her bags in a pile. She wasn't even getting any cute stallions! She didn't have a problem with the unisex cabins but she was upset that neither Blaze Finder or the twin stallion was rooming with her.

Fire smiled as the donkey finished announcing the cabins. "Oh sweet, looks like we're sharing a cabin." She smiled and picked up her large travel bag, putting it on her back.
This bag had lots of extra room around the wings so ponies could fly with it, but for now, Fire just walked.


Star let out a small squeak as the Donkey yelled. She dropped her book but quickly picked it back up and shoved it in her bag before piling her guitar, accordion, and suitcase onto her back, holding her violin in her mouth.
She looked like she was moving from one house to another...and she also looked rather uncomfortable, but she quickly did her best to keep up behind the donkey, looking down at her hooves as she walked...mostly because looking up was made difficult by her guitar case.

Sorrow made some weird "eep!" sound once her name was heard from the donkey. Putting her bag right back on her back, she slowly cantered over towards the group she was assigned to. Turns out, she was also roomed with the grumpy pony as well. She sat back down on the ground, looking straight at the dirt.

...That was her plan before she was interrupted by a mare that was also in the same cabin with her. She didn't know what to say to her, because, well, she was scared of everyone. She looked up and slightly waved, fear in her eyes.

Missy Splash

 

Missy trotted up to one of the fillies on her side and smiled. "Hey need some help carrying some of those?" She asked, as the filly was carrying a lot of instruments. She gestured at her bags that she was levitating with her magic. "I promise not to drop 'em!" She cheerfully.

 

Lavender Pierce

 

Lavender rolled her eyes and grabbed her bags in her mouth. Honestly the least that hideous donkey could do was carry her stuff! She flapped her wings a bit so she could hover along the way and not have to walk next to...the other ponies.

Emerald Wave stood where she was told, holding her suitcase on her back, balancing it so it wouldn't fall. She stood alone in back because she didn't want to bump into anypony or get in anypony's way. She looked around as she walked. When she saw the pool, she smiled. 'Yes, now this is officially gonna be fun!' Emerald thought to herself.

Immediately when Art's hooves were off of Sorrow's face, the smile quickly fell down back into that small frown she always had. Not even taking the mare's hoof, she got up on her own, gulping as to wonder why this pony wanted to make her happy so much... She just wanted to run away from this camp so, so much...

She gulped, not even knowing what to say next... The pony was nice, yes. But she didn't like talking to anyone at all. Even when her parents were still around, usually she would never talk with them unless it was important. She lowered her head a bit to let her mane cover up her eyes, shaking a bit now.

As the groups trotted along, Emerald Wave looked towards the woods excitedly. Her ADHD was kicking in, and she had to find a way to not laugh like a maniac. "Think about last year..," she whispered to herself, hoping nopony heard her. She immediately frowned and got the chills. Her memories of being thirteen and Inferno, Night Star, and Lily Blossom passed by. Her best friend Night Star went insane, Lily Blossom who used to be her bully became her friend... Symphony almost died... Inferno wanted to kill Emerald... She shook her head, trying to get the thoughts away. "That was last year..," she told herself.

Two carefully folded up her piece of paper and walked to where the grumpy donkey had told her to go. She hoped that he was the only grumpy worker here and everypony else was cheerful, including the campers. She didn't exactly exactly like the fact that both the fillies and Colts were sharing cabins, but there wasn't anything that she could do about it, she just stood there awkwardly.

Emerald Wave groaned and held her hooves to her head. She had a nervous look. 'Was that a good idea to think about, Emerald?' she scolded herself in her head. She just wanted to be able to look straight at the woods, smile, and say that he wasn't there, but because of all Inferno did last year, she wouldn't believe herself. She always imagined he was standing there. Watching her, plotting what to do next. But instead of looking at the woods, she gave a nervous peek, and she squeaked and looked away. She had gotten herself paranoid as she normally does thinking about when she was thirteen.

Missy trotted along, glancing at each of the ponies quickly. She had only met a few of them earlier so she wasn't sure who was in her cabin exactly.

Hmm let's see what did that donkey say...? She thought

"So, um," She began, raising her voice "Who's Rai and who's Rosemary Petal and who's Star Song?" She asked. It was best to get to know them now, she thought.

'I hope we get to the cabins soon...' Emerald Wave thought. She hated looking at woods ever since the tragedy. She remembered she was in the newspaper last year from donating $400 to the hospital when it was destroyed by Inferno. Emerald Wave shivered, hoping nopony would recognize her from the newspaper. She laughed. 'That was one year ago!' she thought to herself. 'Nopony is gonna remember! Heck, they didnt even say my name on the newspaper!'

She realized that the mare probably didn't understand that so she just gulped and nodded shyly before looking down at her hooves...only to look back up moments later. "I'm...Star..." She muttered.

Sorrow ignored the last thing that Art Streak had called out towards her, seeing her group far off from her now. She still sat on the ground, her bag in her lap, and holding the cupcake that Art gave her in her hoof. It looked yummy... She gently nibbled on the frosting, tasting the vanilla and the frosting that went with it, actually enjoying it. But she wasn't smiling either... It would be a whole bunch of work for her to smile.

"I'm Rai, it's nice to meet you," She said half-heartedly, "What's your name?"

Rai figured that she might as well make some sort of effort, she wouldn't mind spending her time here alone although she'd much rather prefer to actually talk to people, maybe making some friends. She forced a smile onto her face.
