gaming Starting to do Let's Plays (LP)

So because me and my friend want to start doing some self work on our fields. He is a website designer and I am going for media craft (video editing, recording etc/) I brought up the idea of doing lets plays because are huge gamers, but I want to do something to bring some entertainment to people as well so I am having a hard time deciding what games to do that people would be interested in watching. I will eventually do the ones i want but I would like to start off with something people would enjoy. I am going to take down a list of peoples options from this forum and then if anyone is interested in seeing the finished project i will update properly.

But seriously though, I mostly watch LP's for the commentator's personality more than what game they are playing. So I would say start off doing a game you really like or know a lot about because, to me at least, it's not really entertaining watching someone play a game they don't enjoy. Plus you'll stay on somewhat of a regular schedule if it's a game you legitimately like playing. 

 

I am of course assuming you'll be talking over the gameplay. If not...I dunno

I used to do Let's Plays, of COD 4, Halo 3, and I also did do some Fallout 3. Just do whatever you enjoy doing. That's all that really matters.

You should play games that y'all enjoy playing, if you are having fun and goofing around, the audience will probably enjoy it more than if you are just going through the motions. Some games that have been really popular on youtube are: Minecraft, Trouble in Terrorist Town (and other Gary's Mod based games), and The Hidden. Black Ops 2 zombies is also pretty popular.
But really, just do what you like to do and have a great time doing it

I think a very important thing about LPing is that you enjoy the game your doing.

 

If your doing it because its a lesser played game, or for the views or whatever, and forgetting to enjoy, your commentary will suffer, and your LP will be more boring.

 

So play whatever you want to play, play a game that is one of your favorites, if you don't enjoy it don't play it, and don't worry what has already been done, as long as you enjoy doing it thats all that matters.

 

Don't get to caught up in getting views or something also, as that will ruin any fun in the whole thing.
