That, and Zeta won't stop clinging to Grand for two seconds unless I have him do so XD

But, here's the thing, Shy; Picking good times for character building is hard whenever there's some serious shit going on, or there's breaks in between hours.

Let me give you some advice: your "serious shit" is the best opportunity for character building.

There are two types of characterization: direct and indirect. Direct is telling the reader the character's traits straight. (Ex: Zycrin was a callous soul; if one were to look inside his body, they would find nothing but cold blood.) Indirect characterization is when you imply that trait by action, reaction, and dialogue. (Ex: Zeta took another swig on his tenth glass of beer. "Sometimes I wish I can drown my worries into nothingness..." he muttered.)

If your OC was trapped in some terrible position, it can easily be used to show his personality during a situation. "Breather" episodes are ideal for dialogue characterization and development, and direct characterization.

Watch your pace for character development. If it's too fast, it'll look too forced. If it's too slow, then people would get bored. Don't fluctuate on personality, either. If your OC is cynical and quiet, don't suddenly add a lot of merry dialogue for him. If your OC is not experienced at magic, don't create a deus ex machina and make him or her teleport out of danger. (The one who controlled Josh did this. A lot. Same with Zycrin.) Really , the "deus ex machina" situation is strongly hated in roleplays; unless your character is in the plot climax or the character development has affected the OC in a way, gradually.

We already told you; if you're looking for something complex and well thought out, then you're not getting that here

That wasn't complex, I was just telling you that characterization still works, but if you do it wrong people are going to get pissed.

I mean, won't you get angry if you tried to shoot at someone with a gun in a RP, then that person goes deus ex machina and disappears and stabs you in the back, without your consent? That's why I'm telling you this; not only is it writing device, it's basically a universal RP rule. Even if you don't enforce it, people are still going to care about that. Like Godmodding.

And we all know how to role play properly but this is just for fun of you are just going to worry about the little shit then you can leave

We aren't writing a novel here. We're just roleplaying.

I'm merely giving tips. You don't even need to pay attention at it, it wasn't even directed at you.

Plus, you don't call "god-modding" and "deus ex machina" shit-leveled problems. They should still be noticed, even in a casual RP. It's for an enjoyable RP. It gets annoying if this happens to much, and would probably ruin the whole roleplay.

Perhaps, but I haven't seen any of that happen for a while.

I'm watching Code Geass R1.

Is that like some sort of anime?

Because I watch quite a bit of anime.

I guess this is what Cartophile was talking about, you just used an everything-proof shield, dashian. Limitless power? Seems kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
