Why weren't Dash's friends punished In Wonderbolts episode?

I mean they just went to Wonderbolts training without caring about their lifes and nearly got killed. In real life they would been put in jail if they went to army training.

and Worst of all Lightning Dust got the blame for it even though she did the tornado before they were even in eye sight. If anything it Was Spitfires fault and she just blames it on Dust Without taking on account that If the Mane Five weren't so reckless no one would have nearly died and the tornado wouldn't hurt anyone.

Jail? If anything the Mane Five would've been given a severe ticking off in real life. Also in real life Lightning Dust would've been court-martialled for reckless flying and massive disregard for the lives of others in the vicinity, including Rainbow and the other cadets. Of course she got the blame for it. But that's just me, you might know more than I do.

They were worried because Rainbow hadn't sent any mail, so they decided to pay her a visit. Twilight wouldn't break the law for getting worried about Dash. It was probably approved by Spitfire, but she forgot the tell the academy.

Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

Probably the reason why is because cloud busting shouldn't be reckless but Lightning Dust obviously though the other way. It was a pure accident that he Mane 5 got sucked into the tornado; they were allowed to go up there and spectate anyway.

Well, you are correct about one thing. The Mane 6 were not in sight at the creation of the tornado.

However, that is irrelevant because the tornado could have easily harmed the other cadets.

Still stuff like that happen all the time, For all we know Spitfire might have nearly killed someone in her early years. And the Other Cadets might been in danger but they signed up for danger, accidents happen ALL the time.

@,

All true. And arguably, Spitfire did not explicitly say, "No tornadoes."

However, it was reckless, especially because LD and RD couldn't control it.

As for the rest of the Mane 6, they can't really be blamed for visiting their friend. It's not a military camp, it's an athlete training center.

Here's the problem with that episode, and it's a fairly serious plot hole:  It is never clearly defined whether the Wonderbolts' training ground is restricted air space or not.  If it's a restricted area, LD should be free to make all the tornadoes she wants.  She was aware of the other cadets' location and performed a safe distance from them.  But a restricted area would've had warning signs and the Mane 6 would've steered clear of it.  OTOH, if it's not a restricted area and outsiders are permitted to fly or balloon through, then LD made a very poor decision.

This little detail continues to irk me.
