Bass slowly opened his eyes, and upon getting his bearings thought, "Morning," He looked down at the white stallion asleep in his hooves. The sight of the cute unicorn in such a peaceful state made Bass smile. He remembered every detail of the night before, which caused him to smile even more. Calmly and slowly, he nuzzled up closer to his new love, and nudged him a bit. With a soft smile on his face, he sweetly whispers, "Morning, cutie. Sleep well?"

'Did she just give me a pep talk?'

 

For the second time today, for the second time ever, Pondah's face wore a small smile. "You're right! I need to put my mentally scaring and traumatic last behind me and focus on the future. I've got decades left alive, I shouldn't spend them hiding away from the world and taking cover under benches."

 

'Capable of giving pep talks, jubilant, charismatic. She's... perfect. But there's no way she can feel the same way towards me. I've spent most of the day inconvenienceing her. Let her make move one.'

 

Pondah had stopped shaking as determination surged through his body.

 

"I suppose it's about time we got to sleep. I'll possibly see you around.

 

And with that, Pondah picked up the bag of fake bits and lowered himself down the ladder quietly, falling asleep on a nearby verge.

"Oh gosh, no! The only place I need to be is here in your hooves." Kaz beamed back. "So, what's our plan for today then?" Bass smiled and wrapped his hooves around the cheerful unicorn atop him. He chuckled a bit before deciding to respond. "I'm cool with spending the day together," he voiced. Then he made a realization. "Ah, jeez, I have a gig tonight at this place downtown. I don't think I can miss that... that's a lot of drunk ponies to upset, plus I just got my record deal, so I need to maintain my reputation." That led to another realization. "MY REPUTATION. If I have a coltfriend, what will that do to my career? I know it shouldn't matter, but what if it does?!"

 

He then grew quiet, and his mood changed quickly and blatantly.

Kaz whispered, trying to reassure the DJ.

Richard awoke with a headache, hopped out of bed, popped some pain pills in his mouth and hopped in the shower, 'Been a while since I've woken up alone,' he thought, and started having memories on a girl he was sweet on in Ponyville. "I wonder if she remembers me," he said. He almost broke down then and there. He wanted to settle down, but he also wanted to continue touring the world and making people happy with his music. Then his stomach growled. "I ought to get something to eat, that'll get me out of this train of thought."

He reached up around the unicorn's comparatively smaller neck, and pulled him down into a hug. He then, wearing a sly smile, whispered into his ear, "I guess we can give it a shot." Finally, nipping at said ear, he added, "Well, we should probably get movin' then, huh?"

 

"We probably should, but I'm not quite done yet." Kaz tilted his head down towards towards Bass and leaned forwards to smooch Bass again. Eventually the two ponies arose from the chaotic scene of the bed and began to dress each other for the day ahead. "So, where are you taking me? I should let you know I have quite a refined palate." Kaz winked at the stallion wondering if he actually noticed the sarcasm in his voice.

Bass chuckled at the white unicorn's sarcasm, and answered by picking the purple tie from last night up off the floor and tossing it at him saying, "Here ya go, Mister refined!" He then actually put some thought toward the question, and came up blank. "Come on, you know the city better than me. I've only been here a few days. YOU decide where we should go!" He said, putting extra joking emphasis on the command.

Rut-Light arrived at work a little early mainly because he was assigned to work on the broken rail section today as well as work on an old locomotive from the time when he was just a colt.  He's a 48 year old stallion so to say he's interested would be an understatement.  He arrived at the broken track shortly after showing his I.D to a guard; due to the accident yesterday security had to increase, with a smile on his face he donned his hard hat and grabbed a hammer while walking to the broken rail.  There where steel pieces of track waiting to be placed waiting for him when he arrived, he immediately got to work; but not before whistling 'I've been working on the Railroad'.

It had been a funny kind of day...

 

Bubble watched, ear flicking madly, as Pondah climbed out of the window. She didn't even ask why - words didn't seem to convey enough confusion. Instead she simply waved, closed the window, turned out the lights and curled up to sleep.

 

When she awoke her mind voice had slowed down now, she was thinking rationally again. Of course it had been her friend who had broken into her room and hidden under her bed: hiding under furniture was kind of his thing, wasn't it? How had she been so silly, thinking it was a ghost!

 

Packing the notebook and glass vial into her saddlebag again, she yawned loudly and squinted out of the window into the morning light.

 

"Maybe today will be less weird." She told herself. "Oh! That looks like a cafe! I wonder if they have donuts?"

 

Her stomach rumbled: she suddenly realised that she hadn't eaten anything at all yesterday. It happened sometimes - she would just forget. She grinned sheepishly to herself and left the hotel room.

Pondah awoke with grass embedded in his mane. He gave it a quick shake and and a flick and most was removed. He rubbed his eyes and noticed a bin in the distance. He stared back at the bit bag.

 

'Why didn't I think of this earlier?'

 

Pondah trotted woozily and flung the lid open on the bin. With a simple throw, the bag of bits was sealed away in the depths of the bin. He then reared up on his hind legs and took a peek in.

 

'Anything to eat in here? Old apples... green eggs... hooray! Some bread crusts!'

 

Pondah pulled them out of the bin and, with a look of delight, began to eat them. Getting something starchy inside him always made Pondah feel happy as it meant he'd have a spread of energy. He walked out onto the streets, eyes still half lidded, ready to discover what adventures lay in store for today.

Bubble bounced into the cafe and ordered a well balanced breakfast: a large doughnut. With sprinkles. Beaming as she bit down into it, she considered her options for what to do.

 

"Well I could... Uhm... Oh! They have smoothies!"

 

It wasn't a terribly in-depth line of thought.

 

She sat obliviously, enjoying the first real peace and quiet since arriving in Baltimare. Of course, it wouldn't last: peace and quiet never did - she got bored too easily.

 

For now though, she munched through the sweet breakfast in quiet contemplation.

Kaz was somepony who often took jokes to be serious but he gleamed whilst saying this, somehow knowing for sure that neither of the two stallions were being serious. "Hurry up as well, I'd like to actually get my Frap before the store closes." Kaz said playfully and then went to search for his saddlebag.

 Sunny followed Candy out to the kitchen and sat down in a stool as she rummaged through the cupboards.. 

"I don't really have anything to make breakfast, I didn't go to the market yesterday. If you want, we could go to that cafe from yesterday. I'll just brush my mane and we can get going, I get horrible bed-head." she said.

Sunny got up and walked past Candy on the way, and without thinking, pecked her on the cheek. She blushed a bit as she realized it but let it be and kept walking to the bathroom.

"Alright, I can-" She was cut off by a sudden kiss to her cheek. For Candy, this was very new...it was the only kiss she had recieved in her life that wasn't a casual one from a parent. 

 

She was frozen in place, but she slowly grew a dopey smile from ear to ear, and held it until Sunny returned. A slight stutter in appeared in Candy's voice, she still had the dopey smile. "You just- did you- I..." She sighed in an infatuated manner. "You are my Sunshine!" She giggled, quickly moving up to Sunny and hugging her, returning the kiss, only this time: A peck to the lips.

"Did he really just say that?" Kaz was at a loss for words after the stallion said this to him. He forced a smile and shouted back "just a moment, I'm still doing my make... My mane! I'm still doing my mane up." With this slip of the tongue, Kaz rushed his schedule of pure vanity and trotted over to Bass.

The light from the sun (and a couple of crusts) had done a good job at waking Pondah and he was now walking around with full alertness. 

 

'It seems that eating and drinking bring ponies together in this area. Perhaps I should find a way of earning some money so I can fit in and socialise.'

 

 With this idea in mind Pondah searched for a place in which he could get a job easily. He wondered for a moment until he found a fruit shop. He walked up to a unicorn at the counter and made his want for employment known.

 

"Uh... hey there. Have you got any jobs that a complete broke, physically weak and officially uneducated pony can do?"

"Get lost you filthy hobo! Go on! Out!"

 

The unicorn's horn glowed and pieces of fruit began to launch themselves at Pondah. He tried to leave, but a barrage of melons made moving forwards difficult. Spotting a break in the attack, Pondah made a run for the door, but not before a swarm of strawberries made him look like something from a B-Movie horror set in a jam factory.

 

'Hm... seems I may need to work on my pitch...'

 

Dripping with fruit, Pondah began another search, this time for a river, pond or lake in which he could remove the fruit from his body and make himself look more presentable before going socialising again.

 

'Most interesting rejection I've ever had.'
