Allowing the unicorn to go on his way, Bubble continued on her path to anywhere.

 

'Well he wasn't yelling, although he did look at me like I'm crazy. I'm not crazy am I? Just for wanting everypony to cheer up for once? This city isn't nearly as friendly as they said it would be. Oh! Am I doing something wrong? Ponder said I wasn't, but what if he was just trying to not hurt my feelings? I wonder if...'

 

Her mind rambled on like this for some time and her eyes glazed over slightly while she peered around at the sights around her, completely missing the hotel.

Bass finally reached his destination... or at least, a destination... Some small music shop. He had quite a few bits from the signing bonus, so he thought he might as well pick himself up a new mixing table, as his old one was breaking down from the combination of constant use and drinks spilled on it during shows. He walked inside, picked up the model he was looking for, and levitating it in front of him as he exited the store, he began his way back to his motel where he was staying, so he could give it a nice test run.

 

As he walked, he was trying his hardest to maintain a laid back disposition, but he couldn't help but crack a smile in excitement of his new piece of equipment. "So sweet! This model just came out two days ago!"

Mr.Light disliked being interviewed, he has been interviewed before but not on this scale.  It wasn't massive but there were quite a few paparazzi there for the entire event, one pony with a mic in hoof asked Rut-Light, "How many ponies survived this horrid accident?  Were there any casualties?"  To which he simply replied, "Alright lets get something straight; this was no accident this was sabotage, there is no way that this would have happened on accident.  However, almost everypony escaped with minor injuries...as for a casualty count there are approximately 13 dead, and that includes the driver of the train."  Another pony with a mic asked him, "How long will it take for the train-yard to be functional again?"  "The yard is still functional, just not this part of it.  However i'd guess about a month at least, there was some pretty significant damage done to the track and in other places."  Then a unicorn with a camera questioned Rut-Light with an odd question, "What was the number of the locomotive that derailed?"  That is not information that should be known, he hesitated and answered, "That's classified information..."

Lightning sighed as he sat, again, on his cloud with nothing to do. He observed below him and saw 2 ponies talking by some benches and a lot of ponies in the cafe. He sighed as he saw Candy talking to other ponies. They only got to talk for barely 10-20 minutes before he stormed out, only to find out that there was no one by the benches. He laid back down on his cloud and closed his eyes.

"Oh! The train station!."

Somehow, bubble had managed to walk in a large, somewhat crooked circle.

 

"What's going on? It wasn't like this when I got off the train..." She asked nopony in particular, wondering about the crowds which had since appeared, most of which seemed to be trying at address a single, quite stressed looking, pony.

Starshine was at lost. Thanks to the exploding train from earlier, it was very unlikely for any train to leave Baltimare for the day, which of course mean there would be much more security around the station. He would have to wait for a while before the situation grew lax enough for him to sneak in and stowed in a train to Ponyville. The colt rapped his hoof. He had run out of food and bits, sooner or later he would have to eat scraps just to survive. To make things worse it was days ago since the last time he had the chance to take a bath, his mane and tail was sticking out all over the place. "Very, very nice indeed," he mumbled to himself.

 

He walked alone down a road, looking left and right for a suitable corner for him to sleep in. He was no stranger sleeping under a cardboard box or inside a dumpster, but most of the time the place was already occupied and the pony inside wasn't feeling like sharing the place. He came across a shiny-looking cafe. There was a group of mares inside, chatting to each other, and foods and drinks. He gulped and shook his head. "Another day, that's for another day." He trotted past the cafe and turned into a damp alley.

Kaz finally reached his home, ignoring the huge commotion at the train station which he passed on his long journey from across the town. After wiping away the tear's from his eyes he saw a peculiar looking pony dart into the cold alleyway and saw them settle down on an old, dirty cardboard box which had been dragged out from a nearby rubbish bin.

 

"What are you doing?" Kaz asked, intrigued as to what this poor pony was doing. "Are you okay?"

Starshine was a bit startled when a pony called him out of nowhere. The pony was an unicorn stallion. His white coat almost reminded him of somepony back in Ponyville. "It's... I'm fine," said Starshine, his eyes avoiding direct eye contact. "I'm just tired, that's all. Nothing to worry about. I'm just trying to sleep." He was trying to make it sound nonchalant.

 

The colt looked around them. It seemed that the stallion was indeed alone. He noticed that there was a subtle hint of tears in the stallion's eyes. "Were you crying?"

"If you want to sleep on my couch, you can do, just come up and knock if it get's too cold for you out here... I suppose I could always bring you the throw down off my bed if you'd prefer to rough it?"

"Wow, This really was worth the bits!" Bass exclaimed to himself in the rather unkempt motel room, where he was working. After taking a look at the time he realized the show at MusicMare he planned to attend as a guest was going to start shortly. "Well, looks like I should start heading to out. It's dark in this room anyway, and I could use some fresh air. It should be a decent walk there." Once again, the carefree DJ was roaming the ever busy streets of Baltimare. This time though, he choose to go through an alleyway to reach his destination. "Why not?" he thinks to himself, as he slowly goes along the street.

"I probably could. I've had a terrible day at work, I got fired and now I don't know how I'll pay the rent cause I just spent all my bits on food shopping for the month." Kaz nervously riposted. "Oh Celestia... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to vent at you. I just had the worst day is all."

 

Starshine visibly winced. Now he couldn't help but to feel bad for the stallion. Being fired and at the verge of homelessness. Not that he could no anything about it, he was practically a homeless himself.

 

 

 

"If you want to sleep on my couch, you can do, just come up and knock if it get's too cold for you out here... I suppose I could always bring you the throw down off my bed if you'd prefer to rough it?"

 

"The offer is mighty appreciated, but I gotta refuse that. I like to wander around at the night, more food around the place when the sun is down. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll keep it in mind, though." Starshine grinned a toothy smile. Not everyday a pony in trouble would be willing to go out and offer assistance to others. "Anyhow, my name is Starshine. As you may have guessed, I'm not from around here."

 

He offered a hoof to the stallion, but soon retracted it and shied away as another unicorn trotted by. The new stallion was brown, but he had the exact same cutie mark as the white stallion. "Huh, that's your brother?"

After rushing back and forth from table to table, being shouted at, greeting literally everypony and everything else, Poison Puppet swayed over to one of the last customers in the cafe. Keeping up his crazy pace, he almost collided against the table. "Whew!!" He exclaimed, popping out seemingly out of nowhere. "Sorry about the wait, ladies! I'm not used to this city's hasty waves of ponies... And apparently we're kinda short in workers today." He cleaned off a few sweat drops from his forehead before swiftly pulling out three menus and laying them on the table. He then took a deep breath. "Alright, now for the formalities, shall we?" He cleared his throat.

 

"Welcome to the Baltimare's Stadium Cafe! How may we serve you today?" Poison had repeated that exact same phrase so many times already.

After getting interviewed for quite a while Rut-Light was able to get some breathing room, it's official though; he hates paparazzi.  However, he didn't feel like helping clean up the mess at the train-yard, he was just walking away when he saw a mare with a pink mane looking really confused at the scene.  Rut-Light walked over to her and asked, "How much did you see of the sabotage?"

Having finished what he came to do, Pondah stopped day-dreaming and got up to leave. At the door to the café, he turned to face the rest of the café.

 

'All these ponies chatting and having fun with each other. How do they do it? What does it take to be sociable and charismatic. I've met one sociable pony already, but she thinks I'm a jerk.'

 

​With his ears drooped and head down Pondah exited the building and entered a nearby alley-way.

As Bass entered the alley, he noticed something odd... A congregation of three other ponies, one of which he immediately recognized- the one with whom he shared a cutie mark. He stops, and upon peering over the other two ponies, one who looked homeless, and very dirty, and one who just overall looked upset, he decides to speak up, putting his personal act away, and his DJ mindset on. "Hey dudes, is everything alright here? You guys kind of look like you could use some help." Before waiting for a response he continues, "I was just heading up to see a show at MusicMare, and I have plenty of bits, if you guys needed a place to chill for a while. It's gonna be a sick show... I know the DJ, he's a pretty cool dude. Seriously, I don't generally like showing up at places alone anyway..."

"Sabotage...?" The earth mare asked. "I thought it was called Baltimare? Am I in the wrong town? Well I've walked around for a while and it seems nice, but I don't think many of the ponies here like me very much..."

 

She looked around at the surrounding crowd and flicked an ear: something was off about then - that all seemed very tense.

 

"Did something happen? Who are you?"

"You're in Baltimare so you are in the right town.  My names Rut-Light; and I work in this rail-yard but today is my day off, and when I asked how much did you see of the sabotage well...somepony thought it would be funny to sabotage the rail-yard, causing all this commotion.  The track was blown apart, the locomotive got derailed and the cars the train was carrying flipped onto their side with passengers still inside."  Rut-Light sighed a little then continued, "I was helping to save the ponies, then the locomotive exploded and that caused the death of everyone except the ones I saved."  He looked at the mare and noticed a small tear in her eye, "Hey, is everything alright?"

"Me? I'm fine! My names Bubble!" She chirped, introducing herself for the third time in one day.

 

"That's not funny at all though! Why would anypony do that? It's terrible! Do you know who did it? Are you ok?" She asked with concern.

 

Why was nothing good happening? Everywhere she went was just more misery today. Maybe she was just unlucky.

Dawn Windswept lives up to her name, that much could be said about her. She always goes wherever the wind and her wings take her, and whenever there is a breeze that just feels right she will take off to the next town. In this way she found herself flying to Baltimare.

 

Dawn landed on Mane Street, she always starts on Mane Street in a new town because they almost always have one named that. Standing on the corner of the street the orange mare counted her bits and rebraided her wind blown gold and yellow mane, tying it with a strip of leather. Her violet eyes searched the street for anything to grab her eye, whether it be a potential friend or opportunity. Her eyes settled on a flier advertising a show at MusicMare. Perhaps the way to find myself again in a new city is to get lost in music. She showed the flier to a friendly pedestrian and they gave her directions to the club. She began to make her way through the city in the direction of the club.

Lightning yawned as a spear impaled his chest he woke up, looking downwards. "Swell..." he mumbled, grabbing his glasses and putting them on. "Now...-yawn- let's see here..." He got up and looked around. He was on his yellow cloud, and it was hot. He sighed as he looked down at the ground. He gently floated from one cloud to another before he touched the ground, sighing with relief. "Now..." he looked and saw a bunch of ponies going to MusicMare, the one club that has loud music. He cringed as he remembered his ears needing to be fixed after entering there.

Rut-Light looked at the mare known as Bubble and said, "It's good to meet you Bubble, sadly we don't have a single clue as to who did this or why they did it.  As for me I am un-harmed,can't say the same for the railway though.  However when we find who did this, he will pay the fine; depending on if this was a first offence for him or not." His voice then took on a bit of a happier tone as he said, "Well we can't live in the past forever for the damage has been done.  So how are you this afternoon?"

"Me? I'm good!" Bubble bounced on her hooves slightly, happy that at the very least this pony seemed normal.

 

"I just got into town today, by train..." She gasped. "Oh! I must have just missed the explosion! I'm lucky I got the earlier train!"

 

She blinked a couple of times, not saying anything for a moment until her smile returned.

 

"Are you sure your ok? You look a little down..?"

The mare was right; Rut-Light was feeling a bit down, however he didn't feel like talking about it now, "I'm fine, really I am thanks for asking though.  However, let me be the first to say: Welcome to Baltimare!  It is quite a large city so there are plenty of places to visit and to keep you occupied."  Rut-Light like to meet others, though he is a bit of a skeptic at times as well as having an interest in how wise some of the ponies are.  "Hey, if you don't mind I would like to ask you a couple questions? If thats alright with you of course."
