When Tempest entered, he noticed a gate with a guard. He trotted up and looked the guard in the eyes. "Gods rise and Gods fall, but demons last forever." He said.

 

Dark glanced at the two new ponies that had walked in through the second portal. "Hey. You must be the other ponies that Celestia sent the letter to." She said. "My name is Dark, the cyan pegesus is Tempest, and the red maned pony is Crimson. Who are you?"

Minath was still in a bit of shock of Celestia putting her in charge.

 

No matter. She belives in me. And if she does, then I'll just have to believe in myself too.

 

Minath walked up to the guard Tempest had just talked to.

 

"Do you have any more information about out quest?"

Chivalry looked at Dark and smiled. "Oh, your a dragon, were sure that you will useful in all this. Hi my name is Chivalry I'm here by orders or princess Celestia and princess Luna, but you already know that." Chivalry walked towards Dark and put his hoof out as if he were expecting a hoof bump or hoof shake. "we'll be working together so I want to make the best impression  when meeting you guys haha."

 

'Psh, your such a pushover.'

'quiet now.'

Dark nodded and sighed. "I just hope we're able to beat Caras." She said. The black dragon then looked towards Tempest and the others.

 

Tempest noticed Chivilry and Aura. "So, those are the other two ponies that Celestia sent for. As long as they don't slack off, then I don't have a problem with them." He thought.

Aura Feather noticed the gray alicorn and her eyes went wide. Alicorns tended to have powerful magic, the weakest could only be outdone by high-level unicorns, and they were used to using magic and having wings. While she doubted she could ask one of the Princesses, she knew by the armor this mare wore that she wasn't royalty. She edged her way over to the pony. 

"Errr, hi," she said, extending a hoof for a hoofshake. Better to make friends first before outright asking about magic. "I'm Aura Feather."

Minath shook the mare's hoof.

 

"Hi, I'm Minath."

 

This mare has something on her mind. I'll guess she'll reveal it when she feel comfortable enough to tell her thoughts.

 

((FYI Minath's magic is average at best. It's her brain that could take down empires. Just some information there.))

((I see, but Aura doesn't know that, and even if I had gotten that from reading her profile(I suck at reading between the lines and I don't remember it saying much about her intelligence), Aura still would have done the same thing x3 And, it doesn't matter how powerful she is. Anyhow, if Minath is truly that smart, maybe she could help Aura learn to control her magic. It's truly up to you whether you want to help her or not.))

 

"Nice to meet you, despite the circumstances." A thought occurred to her. Minath looked like a guard. Maybe she would know why she had been chosen. "Because of your armor, I'm going to guess you're a Royal Guard? I'm also guessing that's why you were chosen. I can't say I know why i was..."

She had a theory, of course, but she didn't know why it would cause the Princess to choose her. She couldn't control her magic and it was probably more likely for Celestia to have sent her back to the lab or punished her or something for destroying the lab in the first place than to send her to destroy a powerful, evil god-like stallion.

"Captain of the royal guard, actually. Been a guard most of my life."

 

Minath's ears perked as Aura added the little afterthought.

 

"And obviously you were chosen because you're you. If I know Celestia, she saw something in you that she thought was precious. She sees the potential in everypony. If she could see it in a little orphan from Manehatten, she could see it in you."

Chivalry saw the two ponies talking. "Huh, that's rare, an alicorn is here too." Chivalry walks up to the two ponies talking and looks at Minath. "Hey, I didn't know an alicorn was going to be here." Chivalry smiled and put his hoof out. "My name is Chivalry Knight, you can call my Chivalry for short, and may I asked what your name is?" Chivalry was putting all of his attention on Minath that he completely forgot that Aura was standing right there.

Minath saw a pony who introduced himself as Chivalry. She kept an eye on Aura to make sure she didn't think Minath was going to ignore her. Minath still wanted to know what was on Aura's mind.

 

"Minath. Nice to meet you."  Minath said as she shook Chivalry's hoof.

 

((This is gonna be an interesting combo. I read Chiv's backstory and him being next to the captain of the Canterlot Guard is gonna be  mighty interesting))

Tempest glanced at Chivalry and the others. He then sighed and sat on the ground as he waited. "Those fools think an alicorn is rare. If only they knew what Celesta, her sister, and Discord did to the civilization my ancestors built, then they would be thinking a little differently." He thought.

"... I see" Chivalry smiled and turned to Aura. "I'm sorry for interrupting you two, it seems Minath is more interested in what you have to say so i will leave you two be." Chivalry turned and walked towards the others.

'Heh, i knew it you are just a pushover'

'I don't need to deal with someone like you right now, those two were talking so i didn't want to intrude any longer'

'Yeah, whatever you coward hehe.'

Tartarus Guard: You must be the ponies that hear to make sure that Caras does not escape the prison. I expected more of you if I say so my self. Anyway, let's get started. Caras is encased by a magical field that has to be repleneshed ever 1000 years or he will get loose. The only problem is that the spell requires a unicorn, and the spell attracts the attention of the Deamons of this relm, the are very strong and highly dangerious, that is why the best soldiers were sent here. Any way let us know when you are ready to begin the spell, but be warned, we have not got all day.

Aura was surprised at Minath's sudden speech, but didn't get to respond, as the stallion she had seen arrive just after her trotted up to them and introduced himself. As Chivalry left, she gave him an apologetic smile, feeling bad because she felt like she had made him leave somehow, She turned to Minath."In response to your little speech there, I suppose so, but I'd never met her before today. i didn't think she even knew who I was."

As the guard spoke she ruffled her golden feathers and shuffled. If she wanted to be of use, she would have to learn to control her magic.And fast. She could also feel a surge coming on.

"Anyway, um... can I ask you something, er...  Can I tell you a secret? I-it's not some petty secret or anything, just something that I'm not supposed to know in the first place."

Minath turned from Aura for a moment to address the Guard.

 

"There doesn't need to be more of us. We have the best in all of Equestria by our side."

 

"And give us a moment to collect ourselves, please. We won't be long."

Minath turned back to Aura and waited for her secret, or to ask her something.

Tempest stood up as his aura flared. "I know I'm ready." He said. The cyan pegesus then smirked.

 

Dark glanced at Tempest and was slightly scared. "I haven't seen him like this in a long time." She thought. The black dragon then glanced at the others. "I just hope he doesn't lose control."

@, ((Beware, wall of text. I've put it in a spoiler if you want to read, but basically she's explaining her backstory, if you've looked at it.

Aura looked around at the small group, not wanting the others to hear.

"I.... I'm not a pony. Not completely, anyway. Err, I'll start from the beginning, but I'll try to be fast." she muttered.

 

"A few years ago, I woke up outside Calgarein with no memories whatsoever. I got a home and made friends, and everything was okay until I met this one pony. He was mysterious, and seemed to know more about me than I did myself. For a while he kept bumping into me, and one day, something happened. I'll explain it later. Anyway, somehow, I knew it had to do with him, so I confronted him and he gave in and told me what he knew."

She took a deep breath and exhaled, trying to calm her nerves. She had never told anypony this before.

"As I said, I'm not a complete pony. I'm a failed experiment. Some ponies in a lab took DNA from a Unicorn and DNA from a Phoenix and... created me, I guess. But something was wrong. I was supposed to be an alicorn, like you. Instead, i'm just a Pegasus-" she rustled her feathers and brushed her forelocks aside to show where her horn should have been. "- and they were far from pleased. They apparently kept me in a containment unit and did tests, trying to figure out what happened and what would happen with magic.

"Now, I know it's possible for Earth Ponies and Pegasi to have Unicorn parents and not have to worry about Unicorn magic, but since I was created, rather than born, I still had the magic from my Unicorn... 'parent', if you can call it that. Anyway, I had no way to use my magic- I had no horn, and that was the only known way to conduct magic. It had nowhere to go. After a while, the magic kept building up until I had a surge, and it wiped out the entire room. I don't know what happened next, because the stallion -you've probably already guessed that he was a scientist- evacuated the room along with his colleagues, but I can only guess that I flew for days until I passed out outside of Calgarein. I don't know how I lost all my memories, except for the fact that whenever I have a surge, I kind of black out and don't remember what happened when I wake up."

 

Aura was glad to have gotten all of it out while she could. the tips of her feathers were getting white-hot, a sure sign of a coming surge. it wouldn't be long until she blacked out.

"...Which brings me to my current question," she said, speaking quickly, even though she knew she should've let it all sink in. 'My wings are the conductors for my magic, i know that now. I can sense when a surge is coming but I don't know how to control it. My question is; do you think you would be able to help me learn to control it?" her eyes were pleading; she wanted so badly to be able to stop a surge. Her wings became hotter, the heat spread a bit, and she couldn't take it anymore.

"AndifyoucanI'dliketoknowassoonaspossiblebecauseasurgeiscomingnowandIdon'tknowwhat'llhappenandIdon'twanttomessanythingup!" she blurted without stopping to breathe, panicking.

Minath nodded.

 

"I'll try, but I don't know if I can."

 

"Take a breath, and feel the magic in your wings. Pull it up in your mind's eye. Mentally turn it into a ball of white-hot magic. Feel it in your head, coax it, get to know it. Now if you've done that, focus it somewhere outside your body. Something that won't get hurt or something that is useless."

 

Minath pointed her wing at a tree stump not far away.

 

"Push it in your mind to right there. It will do no harm."

 

I hope this works. My shielding spell can only do so much.

Aura nodded and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath and followed Minath's instructions. Jus as the surge hit, she forced what she could towards the stump. It did barely any damage, but it was somewhat noticeable.

Not all of the magic obeyed. Some of it stayed with her, and she went uconscious as her eyes opened and became a pure, blank white, and her wings glowed like fire and a beam of magic shot out from the tips of her feathers. Subconsciously, some part of her mind knew what was going on, and struggled to stop the beam before it did any damage. It took a lot of mental energy, but she slowed it enough to make it drop to the ground below and sizzle up, disintegrating into smoke, as if it had been Fire magic. 

her body collapsed, but it wouldn't take long for her to wake up.

Guard: Control yourself, any magic that is used and is not focused on mantaining the shield, will be absored by Caras giving him more power and even more magic spells to use against us. I am not asking, control you magical outbursts.

Minath picked up Aura and supported her on Minath's wing, waiting for her to wake up. 

 

It's her mind that channels the flow. If I can help her train that, She will eventually be able to control her magic and release it when she pleases.

"Huh, i wonder what happened over there." Chivalry see's Minath holding Aura up and supporting her. He then walks towards Minath. "Hey, are you alright, what's wrong with the pegasus?" Chivalry looks into Aura's eyes. "Huh, she looks as though that she's out cold... Did you have something to do with it?"

Minath kept a straight face as she lied through her teeth, no traces of a lie detectable.

 

"She's apparently anemic. I'm just waiting for her to wake up so she can tell me how to help her."

 

Good thought with the anemia thing. I'll just have to tell Aura she's "anemic" until she can control herself.

"Ah, i see." Chivalry turned away and thought to himself.

'I wonder what those energy blasts were a second ago...'

 

'Psh, your so dense'

'What do you mean by that?'

'Heh, as if I'll ever tell you.'

'Tch, big help you are'

 

Chivalry walks away back to the group.

"Hey, guard, I'm ready to help with the spell, you said you needed a unicorn or something right? well, your lookin at him."

Guard: Very well, read this spell guide. It will teach you the spell you need to cast. It is a rather complex shield spell, but any unicorn should be able to cast it with ease. Once you are ready, we shall go inside, everyone else will have to stay outside, as I said this spell attracts a lot of hostile atention from the demonic creatures here. The guard hand Chivalry a book which contains the spell that Chivalry has to learn, and fast.
