SasQ 1,380 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 (edited) I guess she would be more interested in our "Magic" (science and technology) than in popular literature or fantasy (though she'd perhaps enjoy to read them in some idle time too). So I'd start by introducing her to the basics of our knowledge (which, ironically, is lacking for our species too :-P ). I'd start from Euclid's "Elements" (of Harmony ;-J), especially the illustrated version by Oliver Byrne. Then, the old book of al-Khwarismi, the father of Algebra, and somewhat more modern book of Barlow about number theory. I think she would also love Johannes Kepler's "Harmonices Mundi" ("Harmony of the World"). It's all about planets, stars, astronomy and harmony of the Universe. She would then realize that there's more in the concept of Harmony than she probably knew. And she would discover something she won't read about anywhere in Equestria. But she should also read some books of Galileo, to avoid falling into the same trap as him when trying to reveal the truth about planetary motion ;-) Then of course Newton's "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica" ("Mathematical Principles of the Philosophy of Nature"). I guess she would notice many parallels between her Magic of levitation and such, and Newton's concepts of gravity and inertial forces. Then there's the best book on electricity and magnetism I've ever seen, that is, "Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism" by James Clerk Maxwell. This is the kind of Magic she will definitely love to read about, and she's already at the level of development which will prevent her from misusing it, like we do in our Human World. I will not recommend to her any more recent books, since they're all full of shit and insolent lies, which are designed to hide the truth about the Harmony of the Universe from our eyes. Winger7632 124 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 I would show her a biology, chemistry, physics, and astronomy book to show her the opposite of magic...science, and to see how she would react. It would be awesome.
Norman 177 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 I'd show her Game of Thrones. Perhaps she could learn some lessons about friendship. Scootalove 10,692 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 Some novels or books that Edgar Poe wrote or William Shakespeare. Maybe some comic books from Marvel and DC, if she likes that. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
