Sure she's occasionally a bit vain or greedy. But all of the characters have had moments where they didn't 100% fit their element. Rarity is no exception. 3 Twilight is best pony. But at the same time she loves to make others look and feel beautiful too. Part of her job is that she loves making ponies happy with her creations. Their personalities are all unique and certain people just can't relate to, or enjoy certain types of personalities. A lot of the mane six actually have traits I usually don't like with other characters, but do like in this show. It's just something about them has made me love them all equally.
