Most of the hate is because it backlashed on the hype built up in the story arc. I took a look at it as an episode on it's own, and it's really one of those hate-it-or-love-it episodes.

Cep't the C variant can only carry 12 people, a normal c-130 would work much better as the C-130 also does not have air to air capability.
