So I finally got my computer fixed. 

 

Turns out I just needed to update my BIOS. 

 

I did not know it was so hard to update the BIOS.  -_-

Welcome to the thread where everyone hugs and nobody shrugs and then we all go to bed. 

 

It was a BIOS, but the update file is a .ROM so I needed to use a special utility to install it.

I've never updated my BIOS...

 

I've heard that in modern ASUS motherboards in particular, you can update the UEFI by just putting all the files onto a USB flash drive, plugging the flash drive into a special USB port at the motherboard I/O area, and pressing some special button right beside the USB port for three seconds, and that's it...

I can't be too sure about that, but what I did, was I used a utility program that came with the driver disk.  I put the file into a flash drive and then told it to update.  It also had the option to update from the internet as well but it wouldn't connect to the servers. 

 

I think my motherboard needed an update and is probably what caused my visual glitches before.  Hopefully no more problems!
