So I just learned something pretty amazing.

This

Honda-HR-V-US-01.jpg

weighs less than this

How? :o

The weights are actually about the same. The HR-V weighs in at 2,917 pounds while the Prelude weighs 2,954 pounds for the base model (that was the model I drove). But I'm still pretty blown away. The HR-V is substantially bigger than the Prelude, yet it weighs 37 pounds less? That's nuts!

The HR-V is a crossover version of the Fit. That's why it's lighter.

Still, Smash...the Prelude is practically a Hot Wheels. This new car I have feels like a truck compared to that thing

And yes, Pinkie Guy. I got a new HR-V last weekend. Only has 160 miles on it, which is a far cry from the 196,000 that were on my Prelude :yay:

My first payment is due July 8. Still haven't got the title in the mail .-. I insured it so Geico should have been in touch with Honda Financial by now. Well I guess it'll come when it comes. I'd like to go ahead and tag it just to get it out of the way. I'm gonna have to do it sooner or later. Not looking forward to being in debt for the next six years. Hurrah... :P

What I do love about this thing is that they haven't left too much up to the imagination as to what's under the hood.

I see it a lot where they put these covers on everything. My brother's Bimmer is covered in covers...I thought the hood was made to cover everything up. I didn't think it was necessary to bring in Xzibit for the department that handles covers lol

I've actually heard the German manufacturers are taking out things like the freaking oil dipstick. What the hell? They can put sensors in there, but I feel like a dipstick is one of those things that absolutely must be in a vehicle....

The Dart I'm planning on getting would blow that thing out of the water.

Well, yeah. This isn't a vehicle made to go fast lol It's made to just go places. You're talking about a 141 hp motor powering a pretty high profile vehicle that sits on tires that are likely larger. If I really push it, I'll probably achieve 60 mph in 9 seconds. That's my guess. It's not a Civic Si or Accord V6. :P

Yeah, my car has a big plastic cover over the engine.  It's dumb.  How could you not have an oil dipstick?  Even the sensors work, would you want to rely on them?

From what I've heard on it, it's because "the average person doesn't check their oil."

Are you freaking kidding me? So there are people who are learning how to drive a car, but not learning how to take care of and maintain one? Checking your oil is about the easiest thing to do! If you're not checking your oil at least once every few weekends, that's just lazy in my book. The way I see it, your car is a huge investment. Take care of it like it is.

You know what I do for a living? I change people's oil (among other things). The real reason they're probably doing it is the same reason why they did away with transmission dipsticks years ago: people would dump shit in there before the warranty expired, and ruined their transmissions just to get a new one.

Really? This is 2015...you'd think there are ways to determine if something besides trans fluid is present in the trans.... .-.

I didn't even know they did away with trans fluid dipsticks.

They technically didn't. They put a special cap on them that can only be opened with a special tool exclusive to dealers.
